During the past 6 months this was my canadian house, friends and family. 5 🌟 for this amazing place. It has such an amazing common spaces, pool tables, terrace, tennis court, football and hockey area, etc. The staff are such awesome people, they helped me with everything that I needed. It anyone is looking for a place to be in Whistler, more now in Covid times, this should be your place.

A fantastic hostel! Very close to Whistler Village! It is very clean and Covid-19 proof. Employees are very nice :) There is everything you need to relax, play and cook. I highly recommend it!

We were in Whistler for 2 nights and really enjoyed our stay at the Whistler Lodge. It is very very clean! The beds are comfy and the differents areas are cozy and friendly. Thanks to Kylie for her warm welcome!

I stayed here after the lodge reopened as part of Canada’s Phase 2 Covid response. It is a bright and super clean space, the staff are very helpful and accommodating, there are comfortable beds, a lovely outdoor space and it is close to the village centre. Highly recommended!

Awesome staff and AMAZING kitchen! Best spot to stay!

One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at (and I’ve stayed in quite a few). It was clean, safe and the beds were really comfortable! Friendly staff and good check in procedures. It’s a small walk uphill from the bus stop but it’ll save you tons of money.

Wow! This hostel is a gem! A gorgeous wooden building — picture a cozy ski chalet complete with fireplace & sauna, and that’s what you’ll find here at Whistler Lodge. Extremely clean, the staff is friendly and accommodating & the set up is perfect for a hostel environment. You can definitely tell that this was built to be a hostel. Excellent common area (definitely large enough to accommodate the capacity of the hostel) with a pool table, lots of couches/chairs, and a large kitchen table. I found the beds to be a bit hard, but loved that each one had a curtain, light & plug for charging. A little far from the village but we had a car, so that wasn’t a barrier for us. (Check out Trainwreck hiking trail while you’re here! ). I will definitely return if I come back to Whistler!

Really nice, clean, and friendly. Highly recommend. The place is in a super cool wood building, and even has saunas and a pool table.

For a "two star hotel", this place sure delivers! I was only staying in Whistler for one night to see LIGHTS, but I wish I'd booked for longer! the lodge itself is in a great location (as long as you can climb stairs). It's a 3k walk to the village, but the bus takes you where in no time. The lodge staff are very friendly! I felt safer there than I do at home. The lodge has an amazing kitchen, the beds are super comfy, the bathrooms are clean and the water is hot.

The hostel has a nice atmosphere about it; a cozy place to chill. My issue was when I wanted to sleep. There was a motion sensitive light outside my bunk that went off as people came or left for their individual bunks. The curtain for the bunk was not sufficient enough for blocking the light. The light could be a lot dimmer to allow people to find their way and would not be so obtrusive to my sleep. The stairwell was also right next to my bunk with too many creaky boards. I did not enjoy listening to people clambering up and down those stairs as I tried to fall asleep. If you sleep like a rock and like the hostel atmosphere you'll probably love this place, however, I prefer lights to be at least dimmed and less feet stomping to get a good night's sleep.

Really nice place and lovely staff but downstairs rooms are super noisy because you can hear everything from common areas above. Noise at night, quiet time not respected.

I wish I could stay longer! It’s a very friendly atmosphere and I could definitely live here. All facilities were well cleaned and maintained. I slept like a baby because of their nice and comfy rooms. Staff even went above and beyond for not charging us a fee for using the shower, even though we’re passed checkout time. Keep up the good vibes! I’ll be coming back for sure and will definitely recommend your amazing abode.

Superb residence. Nice atmosphere with open kitchen, living and games room, hot tub and more. Relax and enjoy.

Really liked this spot! The dorms are super well done love the cabin feel throughout the hostel. Amazing kitchen lots of cooking space. Nice staff :) I'll be back.

Awesome, cozy hostel. Not too far from the gondola and reasonable price for what you get. Would recommend to anyone looking to hit the slopes.

If your tall, you'll hit your head on the bottom where the beds are set. Take caution. Otherwise A+ on everything else. This. Place feels like home love the neighborhood.

Great hostel. Has everything you'd want for a ski trip. 7min walk up from the bus stop, 5min down to it, 3min on the bus or 5 min drive to creekside, ~8min bus to Whistler village. Great spot all around, best (or possibly only! ) value in Whistler.

Spent 10 nights here in December 2017. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, clean, cozy, affordable. It's my favorite hostel experience to date!

Okey I give this a fiver from an hostel point of view. Usually hostels aren't as clean or quaint as a hotel/B&b. However this is, without any exaggeration, the best hostel I've been to. If you're a traveling, like to meet new people or just need a place to stay, I would sincerely recommend this place.

One of the coziest hostels I've ever stayed at. Pool table, hot tub, sauna, … Oh and suuuper nice staff, too. Would recommend it to anyone!

Great staff, great place. Comfortable beds. Only thing is that the shower wasn’t very hot. Amazing kitchen, very spacious and organized. Overall excellent experience, I would definitely come back.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. This hostel is clean, affordable and well run! I'd recommend it for sure. The shared dorms feel nice and private, and the bunks are spacious! Everything was really clean and well maintained. Each visitor is assigned a sizeable locker (lock included), which was convenient. There's a hot tub and a sauna available to use, as well as a pool table and plenty of seating in the kitchen and common area. Everyone was very friendly, too. The bathrooms are a little small, but the place wasn't busy in early September so I didn't have any problems with crowding. The biggest downside — and it wasn't a big problem for me — is the location. The hostel is located in Whistler Creek, so if you're looking to get to Whistler Village you have to walk 5 minutes down the road (a moderate hill, since it's in the mountains) to catch the bus. The ride to and from Whistler Village is short and buses run late into the night, which was nice! Just be sure to factor the $2.50 fare into your travel plans if you don't have a car. Also, the Greyhound also stops there so you can bus directly to Whistler Creek and walk the 20-30 minutes to the hostel.

Best Hostel I've Ever Stated In. I'm not the first person who said this, many have, and I think this will be the case for a long time. Staff go out of their way not only to help you settle in, they also go out of their way to make you feel at home. With clean quiet rooms, hot sauna, $10 bike rentals, hot tub, and being in the middle of amazing nature. $44 is a steal. Paying this price, you might just leave the hostel feeling like you robbed the place. It's a big rustic beautiful log cabin, just go there. Lastly, this place seems to attract great people to mingle with, which of course is always the most important thing.

This is the best hostel I've ever stayed in and I stayed in over 50 hostels in North America, Europe and Asia. The beds are in cubicles with a curtain, so there is enough privacy. Common areas are isolated from sleeping, so no noise. It's in a beautiful spot in the mountains, has a hot tub. What else would you ever want from a hostel?! (No breakfast though)

The Whistler Lodge Hostel is a great place to stay during every season. I have been a guest three times and would gladly go back. Everyone is respectful and it seems everyone has the same mentality while staying… shred, eat, chill, sleep… repeat.

For those without transport it is a long 600m walk up a hill to it, but luckily that's the only downside, the staff are super friendly, the place is spotlessly clean and tidy. The beds are quite spacious and having curtains for each bed gives you some privacy and keeps the morning light out well. The kitchen facilities are awesome and they even have baskets in the fridge numbered for each bed so you have your own space. Lockers are provided and even had room for my enormous suitcase and backpack with room to spare. Probably the nicest hostel I've stayed at!

I liked this place a lot and would definitely stay again. Price is great! I really liked the setup overall and my buddy and I had a good setting at beds 21 & 22. The amenities were nice. It was great that they have a bike locker, good kitchen, and a hot tub! The biggest downside is that the men's bathroom is quite small and cramped. If this place had a little more bathroom capacity, I would give it 5 stars. I also love that they let you checkout late by putting your bags at the front counter, and you can pay $5 CAD for a shower!

Style is very well. Clean. Well organized. Nice Living room. Kitchen also top, every person has his one box. Minus 1 star because the sleeping place is different from the luggage. It is a little bit annoying.

The staff are friendly and helpful. The beds, and everthing really, are spotless and fresh. The rates are reasonable, and the grounds are gorgeous.

Just got back from 12 days there and this is probably by far the best price/ratio in Whistler. You are between Whistler and Whistler Creek. Clean, nice living room. Jacuzzi, and even bear in the backyard once in a while. Staff is friendly and will hep you with stuff around. Will stay there again anytime!

Awesome spot! great people, hot pot, calm and special dorms! soo good! I stayed there 12days… could stay many more… biggest holiday feeling ever!

So this place is a little quirky… The luggage storage is away from your bed, the change rooms are seperate to the showers but thankfully the kitchen, lobby and friendly atmosphere more than make up for it. It is really easy to mingle or hide away and I appreciated the hot tub and dry room after a full day snowboarding. Definitely my whistler hostel of choice.

Unfortunately the sleeping areas do not have doors! You can hear basically everything at night (people walking around, snoring, talking, music). But everything is clean, kitchen well stocked, large common area, friendly staff. It's a bit far out, great if you got a car. You can get the bus for $ 2.50 down to the village!

Absolutely loved this place! Didn't even feel like a hostel, staff are fantastic, really helpful and know the area. Rooms are great bunk bed style with a curtain to add that extra bit of privacy. Large couch, chill area with a level pool table! I know you never get a level pool table in hostels. They have books to read, board games to play. The place was fully booked and there was still plenty of room to chill out, have a drink and some food. Large kitchen with every utensil you can think of, pots pans and everything you need to smash a good cook up and plenty of room to store food. One of the best parts of this hostel is the hot tub, after a hard day boarding and your muscles sore AF, just pop into the hot tub for a hour, that helped me relax and be ready for another day of boarding. It is not ski in ski out, but you can walk to the whistler gondola creek side which is about 10 min walk, or you can taxi into blackcomb which is less busy for about $10. You can walk to the shops in whistler Creekside, which restaurants, bottle shop and a super market that has all your food needs. This place has great washing and dryer machines that are big enough for all your gear and cost $2.50 each and you can buy washing aid from the desk for $1.00 Showers and toilets are keep very clean and the shower heads are actually really good here lots of pressure. Locker room is secure and extra large lockers that easily fit my big suitcase and backpack in.

A cozy place whose goal is to socialise with more people from other countries, as well as enjoy some of the prettiest scenery I have ever seen. The rooms for my taste, with little privacy. For everything else, great.

What a great place to stay in Whistler. The overall layout and decore of the hostel is beautiful and dormitory area is so nice. Beds are quite comfy too. Every guest gets their own locker, room in the fridge and access to a great hottub and sauna. Definitely would recommend as a place to stay.

This is one of my favorite places I have ever been! For one, the staff is top notch — very cool people, incredibly open, friendly, and welcoming, and so helpful. They truly love sharing Whistler with their guests. Second, the lodge itself is amazing — beautiful, very, very orderly and well set up, clean, with everything you need, and just so comfortable. One of the best hostels I've been to in terms of meeting people — the lodge is so comfortable that a lot of people hang out together there in the evening, chill out, play pool, get in the hot tub, etc. If you are ever anywhere near Whistler, go here. :)

I have visited Whistler to mountain bike the past couple of years. I'm traveling solo from Texas, and staying at a hotel seemed kind of wasteful and solitary. People who travel know that the quality of hostels can vary greatly — this one is fantastic. I stayed at the HI-Hostel last time and the Whistler Lodge Hostel blows that place out of the water. The atmosphere here is great, really friendly people and great vibes. The amenities are pretty top notch as far as hostels go. There's a well kept kitchen, a nice sized common area, hot tub, guest laundry, and probably more I missed. Also many thanks to the wonderfully helpful staff who made the place feel like a home rather than a hotel. If you're going to stay at a hostel, this one is a solid bet.

The best hostel in BC. Great friendly staff who are happy to point you in the right direction. The hostel is nice and clean with good bathrooms and nice showers. The sleeping areas are nice and quiet with good sized beds with privacy curtains and each has its own power point. There is a great social area with a very nice pool table and comfortable places to chill and meet people. Very good hostel, highly recommended!

I had an awesome stay. The hostel is very clean, organized and the friendly staff went above and beyond to make my friend and I feel welcomed. Thank you Andrew for being so accommodating and we'll definitely be back!

The most impressive thing for me was how the whole hostel was customized and tailored for skiers and snowboarders. I bet there will be tons of good sayings about its beautiful location and wonderful interior design. Yes, that's true. However, after one day of falling, jumping and having fun at mountains, what you really need is a place where you can relax, dry you wet body and gear, and recharge for the next day. When the stuff was showing around during check in, I just felt …this place was exactly what I need. "Dry room" for gear just near your bed; big big big locker for everyone if you have extra stuff you need to store; many small closets on the wall, you can put some small stuff there which is not expensive but necessary. For the bed, it has curtains which provide extra privacy than a normal hostel. And the bed is comfortable. It has power station right beside pillow. You can charge your phone while sending pics you take in the day to your friends. The atmosphere here was not noisy. Everyone was kind of quiet. Maybe because I came here at the end of season. Looks like there were not many people (end of April). Generally people were nice, quiet and polite. It was a very good experience. Hopefully I could stay once more and learn more about the history of the building. As a UBC alumni, no reason to ignore the fact Varsity outdoor club created this wonderful place.

The good: I love how there is plenty of drying space for my ski gear: a drying room for boots, and gloves, a drying rack for towels and laundry, hooks by the bed, clothes line by the sauna. I also like the big lockers, they are huge and comes with a beefy combo lock. The building layout is super neat but a bit confusing. When I stayed there 15 years ago, there were two flights of stairs, instead of (the current) one, which made it easier to navigate. It serves as good entertainment though, as you walk through this little maze. Speaking of 15 years ago, the renovations that were done to the building are amazing. Calling it "rustic lodging" (on Google) is an understatement. The decor and furniture is basic, but modern; it almost feels like a boutique hotel/Ikea showroom. The hot tub area had good ambiance. There were individual baskets assigned to each bed for non-perishable food storage, which I liked: you don't have to bother finding a basket, labeling it, and then finding space for it, as with some other hostels. Labeling etc. Still has to be done for food stored in the fridge, however. I also like the big locked portable they have in their parking lot for skis/snowboard/bike storage. The bad: Smoking is allowed on the patio, which means that drift smoke entered into the lounge/sitting area. It is easy enough to escape the drift smoke by going to the dorm area due to the design of the building, but it meant I couldn't hang out in the kitchen and lounge area.

One of the best hostels in all North America. Awesome staff, really laid back and super friendly. Place is freshly renovated and has plenty of new facilities. Excellent location. Highly recommend it!

Great hostel! Clean, spacious, and well-run, with friendly staff and all the amenities you could hope for. Bedding was crisp and clean, and my sleeping cubby was equipped with an outlet for phone charging, a well-placed shelf, and a small locking cabinet. The kitchen area was spacious and organized, and the common areas were cozy and welcoming. And after a long day, coming home to a hot tub and sauna was SUCH a treat! I am happy to recommend Whistler Lodge to anyone travelling in the area.

What I mostly liked about Whistler lodge was its cool staff, great location which was close to the main village and beautiful lakes, facilities including bike rental which is usually very expensive in the village and finally its international guests. You may hear everyday from Andrew something interesting to do in the whistler. Your day is not over when you return to hostel, but second part will start with Matt who is very friendly and other guests. You may share your thoughts on different topic while enjoying your beer or playing billiard, or taking a hot tub. Hostel had a more family environment, which makes you feel at home. You will definitely miss this place after leaving as I do right now. I will definitely stay there when I revisit the Whistler. It is also very affordable if you are looking for somewhere for long-stay.

I had a memorable stay at the Whistler Lodge Hostel. The new owners and management have done a truly fantastic job with the renovations to the building, It has a TRUE Whistler feel. It couldn't be more lovely with the Whistler cabin feel and with the modern layout. My experience with the Whistler Lodge Hostel was excellent, I would highly recommend staying there. Both Andrew and Matt have created a warm and relaxed environment at the Lodge, both super welcoming and helpful with tips about Whistler. The Lodge has everything you need as a traveler, its more than necessary. There is a huge kitchen space, all with brand new equipment, Laundry services, Clean Washrooms, Completely private dorm beds, open Lounge Room, Lockers, Sauna, Hot tub, Tennis Court, Cheap Bike rentals and Pool Table. I will be coming back again when I am next in Whistler. Thank you so very much for my stay.

I write this review from the perspective of someone older and who stayed at the lodge over 20 years ago. Back then. You could enjoy the company of professors and others from UBC who took advantage of the lodge. Today, the lodge is populated by a different demographic of users some staying in the lodge all season due to the lack of affordable housing in Whistler. My first observation is the lack of staff. No one was on the front desk during the day or evening except for the window of 5pm to 7pm. Apparently, there is a manager but the only way I've been able to communicate with that person is by notes, text, and cell. I understand the lodge is undergoing a change of ownership and some big plans are in place to improve it. I'll likely be back next year to check it out. My second comment is that the rules concerning noise past 11pm are ignored — — there is no one around to police them so why would anybody even try to restrain themselves. My room, unfortunately, was adjacent to the 'movie' room. Consequently, actions films could be heard well past 11pm and the general noise from the lounge area made it difficult to sleep. Finally, perhaps this is simply a sign of the times and not a reflection on the lodge itself but the 'new' demographic now populating the lodge seems to be incapable of completing an English sentence without the use of some sort of foul language. The f-bomb is used like punctuation and the assortment of other vulgarities is surprising to me.

Has everything you need and then some for what amounts to a solid, inexpensive stay in Whistler. Ski locker, boot drying room, drying rack, good showers, hot tub, nice kitchen, grill, etc. The only downside I can think of is that there were no personal outlets for each bunk to charge electronics. Had to use a communal power strip in the hallway. This was not a problem as I brought a ten foot charging cord, however without it I would prefer to not leave my electronics charging in a hallway.

Friendly people and has all the necessary facilities.
