Stayed here during the first part of August. I was expecting more with a name that has "spa and resort" in it. It was not a resort and there was no spa. Well there was a hot tub so I guess that counts as a spa? They have a par three golf course that is not maintained at all. The breakfast was cold cereal, milk, hard boiled eggs, bagels and some other grains. Not what I would call great. This place is, at best, a nice motel. If you are looking for a nicer place, stay in Nelson.

Very Clean rooms Friendly staff and great view.

Great stay, love the entire property. Beds were super comfortable and the rooms were clean and quiet. The only thing that I found was marginal was the breakfast and the coffee was lackluster but those were minor issues. The previous owner, who still works there, was there and was very friendly and helpful and even lent me a power tool that I forgot to bring. Would definitely recommend this place with confidence.

Great service. Nice clean rooms with quality amenities. Absolutely incredible lake view. And a very well kept 9 holes gulf course.

We are from Deer Park Washington and visit Ainsworth Hot Springs frequently have stayed at the Kootenay Lakeside Resort several times and have never had a bad experience even when the power went out one year the staff is very friendly very accommodating fantastic views we really feel lucky that we have found this gem in the in the selkirks also make sure to visit the diner by the Balfour Ferry and the doc and duck who has excellent pizza.

This was a beautiful venue for a mountain destination wedding. My son and daughter in law just had their wedding at the Kootenay Bay lake view resort. The staff, especially Reg were extraordinarily helpful! Reg answered all our questions, solved any and all problems quickly and with a smile. My sons wedding went so perfectly and without a hitch mostly in thanks to Reg. The resort allowed us to self cater and were very accommodating and the commercial kitchen made it easy. Our guests enjoyed the golf course, fire table and stunning lakeview and relaxing hot tub. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I would recommend this resort to anyone who is looking for a beautiful yet rustic get away or wedding. My only suggestion would that the check in /Check out system seems antiquated and took time to process information as they would have to call a different location to process some payments. Other than that I couldn’t be happier with this choice of wedding venue.

Nice clean rooms. My wife and I enjoyed playing the little mini golf course that's included in your stay. Neither of us are golfers, so it was fun to play around on an easy little course. Kind of a novelty.

Good place. Everything was on the top except the breakfast. Very regular, no real food.

This was our second time to this Resort within this summer, first time it did blow us away. However second time it wasn't as fabulous. Stained towels, not the cleanest room, and breakfast opened an hour later it was supposed to. Considering how expensive the room was, service wasn't up to par. Its to sad to have such wonderful experience the first time expecting the same second time, thats why we went back. Overall we are planning to take the girls there in the hope that it will be even better.

My daughter and son in law just celebrated their wedding at Kootenay Lakeview. Reg and the staff were amazing! We stayed 2 nights. The staff cleaned and refreshed our rooms during the wedding ceremony. Reg made us feel at ease. He was organized and very helpful with any request we had. I would highly recommend this resort for a wedding / family reunion or large gathering.

Great view, good room, good features (free golf, breakfast), easy check-in/out. Only complaint was the breakfast is pretty sub-par, and the "spa" is just a hot tub.

Great watching the sunset with good friends, fire and a nice bottle of red to end the day great staff and great view.

I reserved 6 months in advance. When I came to check in I found out they had cancelled my reservation the day before. I had to give them new contact info 3 different times before hey got it right. The staff and the mgr were not very knowledgeable. They could not find me a room for the first night.

Clean and nice room. Most important is the perfect lake view especially if you can wake up earlier with the sunrise! Highly recommend hotel.

Pictures on the web definitely paint a different view. The lawns were in terrible shape (weeds everywhere), first impression. Spa, NOT — it's a hot tub. I have to say I was very disappointed. The check in a fairly fast but the person was definitely not outgoing and friendly. Not sure if we hit an off day with the front desk but I was really looking forward to staying there as we frequent the Kaslo area every year. Will not recommend.

Had issues with trying to book a reservation back on March 26th for May 7th (for our 40th wedding anniversary). It was confirmed but the next day we got an email stating they were booked up. After a few calls we came to an agreement to change our dates but get an upgraded room. Upon arrival there was confusion as our reservation was not in the computer. The reception staff member was very helpful and courteous. Our room was perfect with an amazing view. The par 3 on site golf course was fun and they have a ladder ball game set up as well. Would highly recommend this resort.

Check in was easy, and the staff was very nice. The hotel room was very nice and clean, but the bed was uncomfortable. The hotel double booked our room and another family was given a key to enter our room, the experience was uncomfortable.

An amazing hidden getaway just south of the Ainsworth hot springs. A great place to stay when ainsworth is booked up, might even be a better place if you are looking for a more private experience. Woke up to an amazing view of pilot bay, with the ferry traveling across the lake and the selkirk mount range to complete the beautiful backdrop. The rooms are reasonably priced and include a fantastic breakfast in their separate lodge down the hill from the basic accommodations. The rooms are quite modest aside from the honeymoon suite, which is top notch! Front desk staff is super accommodating, knowledgeable and friendly! Would recommend to anyone! The road up to the lodge is fairly visible when coming from Balfour although slightly challenging for a low front wheel drive coupe. It is quite windy up to the lodge but the subsequent view is very much worth it!

Our stay here was very relaxing. The rooms are very clean, the views are spectacular and employees are very friendly and helpful. Free golf with your stay on their small yet challenging course. Lots of other games to choose from including disc golf. Good breakfast every day. If problems are encountered, they are addressed right away. We will definitely stay here again.

Great stay. Very quiet with a great view of the lake. Large rooms with basic TV but still good. A little ways off the road separating them from the highway noise. The main building with the office and breakfast is a couple hundred yards away. Breakfast is adequate. A true continental breakfast. Overall a very good stay.

Excellent views, rooms were very clean and the staff was extremely friendly. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again!
