I arrived at the Lake Okanagan Resort Aug 31 2021, the person at the front desk told me I had to book on Expedia (or similar booking service) because they don't take bookings at the front desk. So went to the vehicle, booked the room and came back 10 minutes later and he had received the Expedia booking. He then took my credit card telling me it was for a damage deposit. (which is normal at any hotel) but something felt a little strange about his demeaner. So because of the odd feeling he gave me, when I left the room on Sept 2, I took a video showing the state of the room. Dishes in dishwasher. Everything normal. A few days later, I have a charge for $547.37 from Expedia (expected)

AND a $437.89 charge for the room fee. From Cozy Stay aka Wonderfultrip. Ca I received an email from wonderfultrip. Ca saying: $547.37 is the booking amount you paid to Expedia, and $437.89 is the payout Expedia gave to the hotel. So I don't think you had double charged. I then responded with a screenshot of my credit card statement showing I've been charged both amounts. And haven't heard back. But a few weeks later the damage deposit was returned. Its now being put through American express as a fraud charge. I want to say that this is all a mistake but it really seems like something else is going on. I really suggest reconsidering your stay here.
