Very friendly staff an super helpful.

Perfect. Good bar service by a Montreal girl.

No air conditioning. No body wash, shampoo & conditioner. Remote was broken when we got in. No where to park a truck.

Great staff, atmosphere, on the beautiful Banff Avenue close to many restaurants and shopping, beautiful scenery by the mountains.

Kept awake from people slamming doors dog barking all night, room they don’t have individual soaps so the pump was clogged and gross, first room had food all over the floor, and the free breakfast OMG stone cold nothing is on warmers great way for bacteria and get sick never ever again.

We stayed here for our first wedding anniversary because we had a great experience the first time. The Inn did not adhere to their "quiet" hours when a large group had breakfast in the event hall which our room backed onto. They finished their breakfast at 7am. We were up at 6am. Your establishment does not follow your own rules, I will not take patronage from you any further. I will also make sure anyone I know does not stay here either. All we were told at the front desk was I'm sorry. This is not the way to treat your guests.

Not a great experience, we got “upgraded” not sure what we booked for $350 a night but if this is an upgrade I would hate to see what should have checked into. No A/C and the helpful staff set the heat at 23C. Never could get the room below 20C. On first floor over looking the fabulous parking lot with people looking in the windows, we would lower the blinds but did I mention the heat!

Just finished another brilliant stay at the Ptarmigan Inn. We love the proximity to downtown Banff, the amazing views from our room and the inclusive breakfast; especially the amazing made to order omelettes. The ski bus stops right outside the door. The staff are very attentive and friendly. Hope to come back next year.

Hotel was clean. It was really nice that they allow pets. Breakfast was decent. Staff were great. Would definitely stay there again.

This was one of our stops during a journey through the rockies, by far the best hotel we stopped in. The rooms are spacious, the restaurants offer a range of food suitable for all tastes and breakfast is available. Not much fitness equipment but the leisure facilities were more than adequate to cater for the amount of guests there. The staff are all extremely welcoming and there to help with any queries. Would highly recommend.

The exterior of the hotel was beautiful, but the rooms them self was a bit dark and boring (nice but small bathroom though). The rooms, or hallways for that fact, do NOT have a/c which made the airflow in the rooms really bad! And yes, there was a desk fan to blow some air around but it did not work. … The breakfast was really not what we had expected either! There wasn’t even a piece of cheese for your toast and it as located in a half basement which makes it really dark and cold! Nothing beautiful about that area! The hotel could maybe use a shine up as the inside is pretty worn out!

Very nice hotel, and I couldn't ask for a better location. The rooms were great, and had the comfiest bed I've ever been on (king suite). The included breakfast buffet in the morning was incredible to say the least. My only complaint keeping me from giving 5-stars are that sound travels very easily (you could hear everything from your neighbors or anything in the hallway) and the clean up crew wasn't very good (rooms were clean but didn't replace cups and forgot towels some days). I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Great location as located right in town and walking distance to everything — all the shops, restaurants and touristy location with free shuttle to popular destinations. The hotel room was remodeled but a little small. It was comfortable with a small balcony. It was quite noisy but it’s located on busy street. The jacuzzi was nice indoor and not packed. Staff was meh. Could have better service. They had no early check in and you can leave your luggage in the lobby. Breakfasts was good. The made to order eggs and omelet was the best thing there. Free parking is a big plus.

Room was clean, service was good. Hotel located right in banff downtown which was great for us, we just walk instead of having to find parking. Not 5 stars rating because hotel does not have AC. Overall it was a good stayed.

Good: Location is great and the front house staff are pleasant. Rooms are clean. Bad: stayed in 106 and 112 (party of 5). 106 was unbearably warm (30+ according to the thermostat on the wall). Not sure if the room is above the hot tubs or what but it was ridiculous. 112 was a perfectly reasonable 25 degrees considering it was warm outside (around 22) When I called reception to find out if the ac was broken I was told that there is a desk fan in the room. The hotel rooms don't have ac. 1 measly desk fan to blow hot air in our face. Nice. Opened the window but no use. Positive air pressure in the hotel means hot air goes out the window but no cool air comes in. Very uncomfortable night. Probably won't return in the summertime. I'm sure it's lovely in winter though. The lady who was taking names for breakfast made us quite uncomfortable with the way she was barking orders at her staff. Could probably use some sensitivity training. Cant imagine how it feels to work under someone who treats you like a minion.

Big comfortable rooms. Friendly staff Perfect location 5 minute walk into the centre of Banff. Buffet breakfast included in price. Restaurant is pizza and pasta based but reasonable price and quality. Much cheaper than some others in town. Would recommend this.

Since the renovations this place is great! I love staying here and have now been three times, twice within two weeks. The location is perfect and the rates are very competitive. I will keep coming back.

Good helpful staff! Noisy ground floor room. Across from elevator & next to stairwell. Should have called months in advanced. Don't stay in room 101. It need better sound proofing. Door especially! Even tried the old towel tucked in the door technique… paid for an upgrade $25 and was much better.

Lobby is a little rancid. The rest is pretty.

Worst hotel experience, we travelled with our kids we booked a standard room for two nights which we felt was already overpriced considering the state of the hotel (old, needed upgrades — floors, doors, walls were not maintained). The room was hot, couldn’t control the temperature. We were in a room that had a balcony facing the lobby, it brought in loud noise from lobby and restaurant. Our kids didn’t sleep the first night, we asked to move to another room but they felt they didn’t need to compensate us for the first uncomfortable night stay. The second room we moved to apparently was an upgraded room, but it looked the same, and the manager didn’t care to do anything else to ensure we were satisfied. Basically we were charged for a product and service that was not what was guaranteed even as a standard room, and management didn’t really care if their guests left unsatisfied. They will not get our repeat business, and I highly would not recommend anyone stay here especially families. Not a comfortable stay and a rip off.

The person who checked us in was very helpful and gave us a lot of useful information. He gave us a timetable for the shuttle services which go to 3 different ski resorts which are complimentary. They also sell ski lift passes here. The parking is underground which is great because it was snowing during our stay. The rooms are quite spacious and come with a coffee maker, refrigerator and hot water boiler. The Wi-Fi works very well. The bathtub could be cleaned better though, there were still some hairs leftover. The breakfast is pretty mediocre, the workers there don't seem to want to be there at all. The choices weren't really replenished either even though there was over an hour left for breakfast. The hotel is walking distance to a great selection of restaurants and also souvenir shopping and places for ski rentals. I would recommend to stay here, the price was very reasonable and it's a great location.

What a great hotel. There seems to have been extensive upgrades done throughout the rooms and there are more being done at the time. The staff is super friendly. Great location, smack dab in the heart of Banff, within walking distance of everything in town. The rooms are very clean and we really want to take the bed home with us lol, so comfortable. Reasonable price.

Great place to stay in Banff. Great location. Many of the shuttles pickup from this hotel & the public bus service also has a stop right out the front of the hotel. Buffet breakfast is really good, and often the food changes each day. Our room was quite spacious and Wi-Fi was decent. Desk staff were really helpful & polite.

Nice rooms, good complementary breakfast buffet. However, loses a star due to price. We will stay here again next Christmas as the location is excellent and the hotel has a warm vibe, particularly enjoyable around the holidays.

Nice hotel. Booked this through a third party company and got a really good deal. For the price we paid and included breakfast, it was great. Our room was facing the atrium, was quite hot but a fan was provided so we were happy campers! I would def recommend this hotel, super short walk to the shops and restaurants, parking provided. Great for a little get away!

Location is great, just a few minutes walk to everything. Hotel is very clean and looks recently renovated. Included breakfast is nice.

It's a cozy and homey feeling hotel, close to DT Banff, and within walking distance of most of the in town attractions. Our room was nicely redone, although if you have noisey neighbors sound transfer might be an issue. The bar and restaurant can use an update, but everything is in clean, and good condition, just out of date.

Staff at the front desk are welcoming and accommodating. Underground parking is included. Complimentary breakfast is okay (enjoyed the customized omlettes). House keeping was well done. The view of the mountains from the room is great and location of the hotel is convenient (walking distance to many restaurants). However, there is no air conditioning and it gets very hot (We had to open the windows and it was loud outside. "cons of being on a main street"). In the two night stay period, the hot water stopped working and in the middle of a shower, freezing cold water took over. In both situations, we had to deal with a 30 min wait before it came back which was frustrating.

Check in was quick and easy, we arrived early so couldn't check in straight away but we're given the parking pass, which was very useful. Room was lovely and the beds extremely comfortable. The bathroom was clean and new, and the small balcony was nice to sit out on. Breakfast was ok, the choice was limited but the egg station was good. The location was fantastic — just far enough away to miss the noisy crowds but super-close to the shops and restaurants. Overpriced, yes, but the location and free transport pass made up for it.

The room is clean but there is no air conditioning (just heat only). They have provided an old school electric fan so I had it on all night. The pillows were on the soft side. The breakfast was subpar. The spa area was not very clean. It was very close to town so that is a big plus. Staff are courteous.

The Inn is close to the busier part of Banff, which means close access to shops and food, but is also a bit loud during the day if your room faces the road. Rooms are clean and well kept, but comes with usual necessities even though the room feels a bit small. Bathroom is nice. Staff is nice and helpful. Breakfast (provided) is mediocre but is enough if all you need is something in your stomach to get out the door (cereal, muffins, croissants, eggs, bacon…).

We booked the room on Trivago in the afternoon to stay overnight that evening. When checking in we asked about receiving a discount if we had AMA and the front desk person said she would check. After checking us in she told us we can't use the AMA discount because we booked through Trivago. She knew we just booked it about an hour before arriving so we could have cancelled with their 24hr cancellation policy and she could have re-booked us on the spot? So that didn't leave us with a great impression. She also forgot to mention when checkout was. The room was decent but didn't feel worth the price. Beds were actually quite comfy. The bathroom is really tight and the sink is separate from the bathroom. The room doesn't have lots of lights so feels kind of dim in the evening. The hot tub/jacuzzi was nice and hot, and they have a steam sauna and hot sauna. They are fine but nothing fancy. There was some workout equipment where the hot tub and saunas are but it's a really small area. We didn't use the equipment so I can't comment on the machines. There was complimentary breakfast but we didn't take advantage so I can't comment on the breakfast.

An okay hotel, but not great. Only perk about this place was the breakfast buffet, other than that, it was an overpriced stay in Banff. The Wi-Fi is nonexistent, the pipes in the walls vibrated loud enough that it woke us up in the middle of the night, and the room was hot (couldn't leave the windows open because we were on the ground floor facing the main parking lot).

Sub par hotel. It's cheaper than most but there is a reason for that. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. I'm not usually one to worry about that but it was exceptionally bad for both my wife and I. We could hear an extremely loud noise anytime the room next to us used the water for a shower or sink that was fairly disruptive. The vents and bathroom fan haven't been cleaned in quite some time as the dust was caked on to them. Overall I would spend the extra money for another place. The location was great however.

The hotel is situated in a great location. Walking distance to the main drag and stores. The lobby and restaurants in the hotel are great. The rooms leave a bit to desire though. There was a constant beeping noise which eventually started to bother us. The beds were also not that great. There was no AC in the room and it w as s quite hot both nights. The second bought we opened the window a little but it didn't seem to help much. Overall it was a good experience and a good place to stay for the price.

Winter rates are fabulous for the newly renovated rooms! They haven't remodeled all yet — choosing between the view or a newly redone room could be tricky… we went for the view! Downtown location is perfect for walking around! Nice breakfast.

A group booking was made but we were not situated anywhere near each other which made things difficult trying to remember room locations, etc. Even if we were all on the same floor it would have been better. The bathroom was tiny, the vanity was outside the bathroom. There were two double beds when we only needed one, and when we went for dinner it was all too much hassle for the wait staff to seat us so we went elsewhere. The buffet breakfast was OK but nothing fancy, I believe you could order al a carte food as well but that wasn't explained to us on arrival. I don't believe I would stay here again if we came back in the future.

The room was a typical hotel room. Nothing special there. There were hottest but no pool, and breakfast was included. That was a bonus.

It's a pretty nice hotel. Rooms are older, but they're nice. It's Banff, and most are if you aren't planning on paying a ton. The beds are comfy and rooms themselves are decent. Heating and all is good. We seemed to have smells from "The Meatball" restaurant below being vented from below. I'm not gonna lie, I loved the smell, like garlic bread and pasta and yumminess. I never actually went to the restaurant, but by the smell in our room it seems good (we dried our gloved on the vent, and the smell is most defiantly coming in via the vent, so our gloves smell tasty). The bathroom in the hotel is OK, but the tub seemed to be stained a bit. Not a big deal. And they have great smelling rocky mountain soap co soap. Hot tubs are warm and nice. Staff were friendly and everything is clean. As I said before, the hotel is getting old, but it's a nice place to stay in Banff. The underground parking is great, and its walking distance to downtown Banff.

Been staying here every year for my office Christmas party and I've always had a good experience. Staff is very friendly and rooms are clean. The Inn is right by the main strip of Banff so it's nice and quick walk for some shopping.

I booked 2 rooms for a group of seven people, we ended up paying $200/per room and it was worth it. Amazing breakfast, the hotel is very close to town, great service, underground parking. Over all it was a great experience.

I had three concerns during my stay at your facilities this last August: 1. We were a room with INNVUE Beyond Entertainment and even the front desk can't tell us how to get a program guide for this TV Service. There was no ability to preview television programming. By the time the 50 or stations were scanned an a program was selected, the program was already well underway. There was no opportunity to review a guide at say quarter to the hour so a selection could be made before the program began. This was definitely an ongoing frustration. 2. You have a computer available to your patrons but you add a password to access it. As only your patrons would be in the hotel, why add a frustrating password? I regular attend continuing education sessions at the Coast Plaza Hotel. Their business center computers require only a movement of the mouse to wake the screen saver. No headaches with caps lock preventing the password from working. No using the Wi-Fi password because the tiny notation of a password at the top of the screen was not seen. The KISS method is always best. Try using it on this public computer. 3. I realize many Banff accommodations were built quite some time ago and were never built to accommodate mini-fridges or microwaves. However, given that you don’t offer these options, one would think you could at least provide insulated ice buckets. The ice in our bucket was melted in less than 2 hours!

Ok hotel. Very loud — can hear people having showers and flushing toilets. Room ok — not overly clean but tidy. Good location to downtown Banff, breakfast ok and staff nice.

My wife and I hied off to Banff for some R&R and we selected to stay at the Banff Ptarmigan Inn. The receptionist Kerry did his best to quickly check us in, but the computer system was slowing him down. Once we got up to our room, we decided to upgrade as we wanted a view of the mountains as we have our coffee in the morning. Kerry searched for a room to suit and had us booked at the second level corner room with a view of the main street, and the mountains. My wife was very happy with the arrangement. One downside to the entire stay was the presence of a lot of young folks who were staying in the hotel for a musical festival. Young folks have plenty of energy and some were running in the hallways, and the side stairs. Thankfully, the 11pm-8am quiet time is strictly enforced. But who sleeps early in Banff anyway? Another downside was due to the number of guests who have to be up early (for the musical festival), the hot water ran out. I had to use the kettle for my hot water needs. It was a short 2-day stay in the hotel but all in all we enjoyed it. Certainly we'll be staying at Banff Ptarmigan the next time my wife and I decide to return to Banff, and this time we'll make sure there's no musical festival happening at that time.

Decent place. Underground parking was full on the weekend, but there is parking lots in the back and the side. The hot tub wasn't working so they told us we can use The Fox Hotel's hot tub which was 4 blocks away, but is the most spectacular hot tub I have ever seen. The rooms were pretty small, no microwave and refrigerator, but I hear they will be added in upcoming renovations. The walls were thin, but the hotel is very quiet and my sleep wasn't disturbed by other guests. However, the wind on the windows was quite loud, even with a light wind, but some people may find this soothing. Breakfast was decent with fruit, yogurt, cereal, bacon, sausage, eggs, omelets, pancakes, toast, and a few more items that I forget. Overall, a good experience despite the hiccups over the weekend. Updated: The front desk manager contacted me after making the review and was able to address a number of my concerns. Without going into detail, I feel this hotel will be an excellent choice for travelers in the near future who are looking for affordable lodging. I truly appreciate the time and effort the hotel staff made to contact me and uphold their outstanding reputation. As a result, I have bumped up my rating to reflect that and have edited a rather scathing (and emotional) review to be more than fair.

Nice location, good services and wonderful breakfast but room ventilation systems are very poor. Summer time is very hot; poor centralised ventilation systems can not adjust the room comfortable. Room are nice but very crowded with furnitures. Parking is very limited.
