Clean and tidy and efficient. Good price for the buck! Everything within walking distance! Friendly helpfull staff. Even gave us free public Transit card. We were here for 5 nights and 3 days of sking. Very nice indoor pool, 2 hot tubes, and sauna to relax after sking! Just loved this place!

Great location along Banff Ave right in the heart of town. Had breakfast at the hotel restaurant Ticinos and it was delicious. Room was well kept and easy to get to. Underground parking made it convenient to come and go. Good value given how expensive Banff has become.

Our room is very clean. Resto and food are excellent. Attendants are very courteous and helpful.

I took my family to Banff to take in the wonders of the Icefields Parkway. I thought I had reserved a room with three beds and two baths at the High Country Inn, but when I arrived the room I received was with three beds, but only one washroom. If you have teenage daughters you will appreciate how having just one bath/shower and washroom is a real problem (and add mom too! ). As it was late in the day already I took the room. The following day I called and asked for a senior staff member to talk about the problem. A very nice and professional man named Jordan answered and promptly said they would give me a second room for free, just two doors away, to fix the problem. Humm, we are in a suite, so what would a 'regular' room look like? Well, Jordan came up to show us the room and it was fantastic! One king and one queen bed, with a separate TV viewing area and of course, a TV for the bedroom. And like our suite, it too came with a kitchen. It's hard not to overstate how generous and thoughtful Jordan and the staff were in fixing the problem. I can't image any greater effort to make a customer happy and remedy a problem than what the staff did for my family. And ion fact, the whole staff is very nice and helpful. And if you come in late and you're not ready for sleep, you can chat up the night desk clerk Carl about anything at all, particularity philosophical discussions. From the day staff to Carl with the night staff, the people at the High Country Inn will take care of you.

We stayed for three nights here and enjoyed it. Rooms were clean, comfortable and well maintained. The location is great and lots of parking in the basement. Easy to get too. Would stay again.

Location, location, location. That's most of what you're paying for. In Banff, you don't stay long in the hotels anyway. While the actual room is only average, the location is beautiful. The room has a balcony (extremely small) which has a great view of the mountains. The room is air conditioned and heated in the winter. The air conditioning is extremely loud though. Cleanliness is okay, service is good. Room included two double beds, with accessories like a hot water kettle, hairdryer, coffeemaker and microwave included. Overall pretty good. Hotel room itself is only average, but you're not going to spending much time there anyway. 7/10

Wonderful and surprisingly wonderful Upgrade on arrival and was in fact a true up grade it was. True executive SUITE unlike some places where there is nothing executive nor suite about them. Extremely helpful staff And spacious large bed room with a large kitchen and a separate bath room. One of the cleanest places I have stayed in and location is ideal for a tourist and close to all attractive parts of Banff.

Got a room used by a smoker in a non-smoking hotel. The house cleaning staff forget to make the room not available while cleaning it, so the room was available t be booked online. Reason why we ended up with it. Also, the house cleaning did NOT do their job professionally as they forgot to move the furniture around while vacuum cleaning (which they forgot to do) : we found a pair of men's underwear underneath a chair and a sock underneath the bed. Would not recommend.

The hotel is in a good position close enough to the centre of town. The room was clean and tidy and the bed very comfortable. The view of the mountains from my bedroom window was stupendous. I would stay here again.

Location is great being only two blocks from downtown and within walking distance from just about everything in terms of food and shopping. Great to have the pool and hot tubs on premise. Rooms are really nice and well appointed. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

I was actually pleasantly surprised. It was a case of Not expecting much and this hotel exceeded our expectations. The price and dated appearance are a bit misleading. The rooms are actually fairly updated. Bed was comfortable and we had a deck w/ a bit of a view. The room was clean and comfortable. Hotel itself was quiet. The check in counter is adequate but fairly plain and benign, a bit sterile in appearance ss opposed to warm, welcoming and inviting. However price was right. The attached restaurant was fairly pricy in our estimation so we decided to go elsewhere. The hotel is conveniently located to downtown and local amenities. Staff was friendly and helpful enough. Would stay here again.

The staff was kind of lukewarm. Not very friendly but they were very helpful. The hot tub and pools was very nice and so was the dry sauna. The room was a little small but comfortable.

We love the high country inn! It's so great for families, very affordable. The pool is big and has two hot tubs! It was clean and has been recently renovated. The owner saw us struggling to get up to our room and jumped up to help and offered his help again when we were leaving. We walked to all the locations easily as it's right in town. Underground parking is available but you have to get there early in the evening to get a spot for the night which was not a problem since we just walked to get to dinner. Great views too. We recommend this place to everyone.

Really good location, close to downtown Banff all the good restaurants and shopping. Free parking. Building looked a little older from the outside, but nice renovation inside. Staff friendly, helpful and quick with check-in and out.

After deciding to stay in Banff for a second night, we booked at the High Country Inn as our first place was full. What a pleasant stay! Check-in was smooth and friendly and the lobby was clean and inviting with a warm fire going. Parking was free and indoors, which was a nice surprise. The room was spacious and comfortable, even for our family of four. The kids enjoyed the pool. We will be returning here for our annual trip to Banff next year.

Stayed for 5 nights. Great hotel for its price. More than expected. Great value for money. Awesome. Keep it up. Just need more parking lots.

The room was nice and clean. The bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Walking distance from everything in town. There is underground parking to protect your car from the weather, but the clearance is low.

Great staff especially the front desk gentleman. Clean comfortable rooms. Fridge, coffee maker and ice bucket in room. Stayed one night only but will certainly come back.

The hotel was very noisy at night… people were running up and down the hallways at 2am in the morning. The staff did nothing to stop it… on the second night I had to yell out the door for the people stop yelling and partying in the hall walls. The front desk staff seemed to be put out of there way to serve you… took them away from their phones…

The beds were uncomfortable. The contractors renovating the place were still working when we got back to hotel after 10pm. There wasn't enough parking for all the guests. At around 3am, there was an awful lot of crashing and banging, sounding like someone had broken down a door. The soap made my skin really dry, which was rather unpleasant. The room was clean and warm. There were more than enough towels. Having the fireplace station on the TV when we got there was a nice touch.

We did not know about the renovation, nor its impact on the elevator (which was non operational), or lobby area. While the room was clean, the walls (inner and outer) were paper thin, so we were awakened to rowdy folks outside, and inside as they made their way from the bars to their rooms after 2 AM each night. On the plus side, it easily walkable to the downtown, and was, in fact, cheaper than other hotels nearby.

The staff were friendly and they did notify us about renovations. This hotel is a great location along the main street of Banff. We had no bath towels but they did bring up in a reasonable amount of time. The room was clean. We asked for a separate bedroom as we had our child with us and wanted some " Private" time. The room was with a false wall with two big vents for air circulation so there was no chance at even a whisper not being heard as our child informed us… " I can hear you guys… "

Shocked at how unfriendly the staff are. This is the fifth hotel we have stayed in during our journey & the staff in the other hotels were so friendly & helpful. A shame this has not lived up to expectations. Some training in good customer service is urgently required.

Nice room, comfortable bed, good location. Biggest downfall was how hot our room was despite having the window open and it being only 2 degrees outside.

Well, maybe 4 stars, but I expect much more for the price. Maybe that's my problem, not the hotel's OK, it's in Banff, it's Canada 150, OK it's not a bad hotel. I suppose I would expect the free orange juice at reception to last past 10am for the the price. Clean, functional rooms, handy for the strip.

Cute hotel with clean rooms and friendly staff. Prompt service, parking available, efficient house cleaning. Banff is a very cute little town and you are not too far from anything. Only down side is the price.

Great for what we needed. Clean room with 2 good beds and cheaper than some of their competition on the same street. We did not use/require much for service but limited interaction with staff was pleasant. They call themselves green if you're into that and have separate garbage pails in the room for regular or recyclable. There is a pool and I believe 2 hot tubs. Our nice sized room also had a table and 2 chairs, a mini fridge and a small patio. This was a nice clean place to stay right near the shops in Banff. Not the fanciest or most updated but I don't mean that in a negative way. Great location and room for normal people that want a hotel room in an expensive touristy town. Standard bathroom, sink, and closet in the room as well as TV. Also underground parking there.

The price was pretty unreasonable to stay for a mere 16 hour stay — — — $330 per night for a one bedroom suite for our family of 5 — — — but that is probably on par for similar rooms in Banff, I'm not sure. The room was nice and spacious, seemed newly renovated to me. Had a kitchenette with microwave, mini fridge, and sink. The walls really are paper thin, as another reviewer described, to the hallway and could hear +++ traffic outside, our room faced Banff Avenue. I specifically asked for a *crib* for our 1 year old and even called ahead to make sure it was a *CRIB* and they said yes, it was noted on our reservation, there would be a CRIB. I even told them I was thankful because I didn't want to use a playpen, I wanted a crib. Low and behold when I arrive, there is a small playpen for our son. Playpen "mattresses" are awful, which is why I wanted a CRIB, so I put a blanket as a 'mattress' to help with his comfort. Be aware of this and make sure you ask if they even have cribs, if this is important to you. The pool was not open until 9:00 AM, which is unacceptable for families with young children who get up early :) I probably would not have booked here if I had done my research more thoroughly. Having said that, the pool was very spacious and open and had a nice big wall-windows to see Banff Avenue. The restaurant attached to the hotel, Tocini, was closed for a private function on a Sunday morning, so we had to go elsewhere.

Great hotel. Had a 2 bed room suite. Perfect for 2 couples. Good location. Attentive staff who answer quickly. Would stay again for sure!

Really enjoyed our stay at the High Country Inn. A buddy and myself did a last minute buddies trip and this hotel definitely fit the bill. Our room was great, two separate rooms for privacy, and a great balcony to have drinks and a view of sulphur mountain. The salt water pool was a treat, and the room was clean. Although it's not the most eye catching state of the art place, it's definitely where I will stay again. Can't wait.

I found the hotel to be quite amiable, however the staff were rather disrespectful to us. We felt profiled because we were young adults staying in Banff for the night. I have stayed in Banff before I've felt welcomed, and a part of the Banff community. With this hotel we were almost immediately given our first verbal warning of noise complaint at 8:30pm, when the noise bylaw is at 11pm province wide, which we found unusual but respectfully complied. We left for the evening, came back and within 20 minutes of getting back we had another noise complaint and were approached by the manager on duty.
All this considered we reacted with utmost respect and complied immediately. To act with further consideration, we spoke with a whisper, closed the balcony door, and put a towel underneath the door to block any noise to the hall. We did book three rooms in the hotel, and the one we choose to meet in was beside the stairwell and another room we already booked out. We apologize for any inconvenience to the guests of "High Country Inn" that we may have caused, however we found that the security guard had expressed accusations of narcotics that she assumed we were in possession of. It was uncalled for and completely disrespectful. We were nothing but polite to the staff and security of the hotel when they requested us to quiet down. I found the complete lack of empathy and respect of the staff whether or not the image of the group.

Place was cozy and offered a good rate. Website we booked with and inn's website said that they offered continental breakfast but upon arrival we found out that it was wrong (discontinued a week prior). Staff was nice. Short walk to restaurants on the same street. Nice views.

Reception, and area close to elevator smells with exhaust from cars. Not sure, how they work in such environment. Otherwise, rooms are fully renovated, staff is helpful, swimming pool and hot tubs are in decent condition.

We stayed in room 331 — which is nicely renovated — with gorgeous panoramic balcony mountain views! The doors are not soundproof but this room is tucked away in the corner so we didn't have much issue with sound. The size of the room was very decent and has a small seating area. The staff are very friendly and the pool area was nice. The pool area also has mountain views. The hotel is located not too far from downtown Banff, and we easily walked. We will choose to stay here again.

Clean, comfortable, excellent self service breakfast, walk away from restaurants and market's, heated pool, two TV (that way don't have to fight with your company) courteous service.

Clean, spacious, and nicely furnished room and bathroom. Beautiful scenery (balcony a plus! ). Convenient location to the Banff Avenue strip (many bars and restaurants, some nightclubs). Decorative and welcoming lobby. Friendly staff. Reasonable rates. Underground parking (available mostly during the day, harder to find at night). Relaxing atmosphere. Fridge available, but wish they also had a microwave in the room. Loved it!

Arrived very late, check in was smooth, and no issues. Room was pleasant and clean. Check out was smooth. Left something behind. Several calls and 3 days later it finally got resolved! Other than that, everything was perfect!

Went to banff with my girlfriend and stayed the night here, great room and clean. The staff was nice.

Me and boyfriend made reservations here for our one year anniversary. The staff were very patient and knowledgeable on the phone and explained very accurately all of our options for putting down a deposit. Very friendly as well. My boyfriend had been secretly coordinating with the hotel managers to make a surprise of rose petals and chocolates for when we arrived, they even upgraded our room for us. The ladies at the front are really sweet, always very helpful. The hotel room itself was very clean, the pool was huge with two hot tubs. The pricing is very reasonable as well so we will for sure make this hotel our place to go for future trips to Banff and I will for sure recommend it.

Check in process was very slow. Location is good. Room was nice and updated. Pool area and most of the hotel is outdated. Breakfast was okay. Hotel was hosting a bunch of families for a hockey tournament so there were a lot of children running around, down the halls, jumping in the pool, etc.

Have come back to this hotel almost every year for 15 years and it's always a warm welcome and a clean, affordable place.

Planned on staying one night here, after booking we never received a confirmation email. We called the night before heading into town and they said they had no reservation for us on file. Ended up staying at a different resort, but a week later the High Country ended up still billing us full price. After multiple phone calls to us they said they would look into it further but never got back to us or refunded our price. Not impressed at all.

Well worth the stay and the price was right… would highly recommend staying at Banff High Country Inn. The facility looks older on the outside, but be ready to be amazed as the inside is being rennovated which really looks good and the free continental breakfast is worth the stay and the staff is always very good to work with during ones stay. Our family was very excited and loved staying and is already wanting to go out again.

My husband and I stayed here while honeymooning in Banff. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were promised a mountain view, which we got, but it also happened to look out onto the main street. Fortunately, this was handy as our balcony had a nice view of the Canada day parade. (I would check to see it there was a nicer view next time. The room was clean, and the bed fairly comfortable. We made use of the hot tub downstairs. The continental breakfast had lots of cereal and bread type options (even gluten free bread for me) but not much in the way of protein. Overall for the easy walking access to shopping and dining, and the price, we had a very pleasant stay.

Not a bad place overall for the price ($95/night w/coupon). Was looking to save a few bucks at breakfast time since we'd be eating out every other meal during our stay, and ended up eating out for breakfast anyways. If you had a gluten sensitivity you'd be screwed as they only put out bread, cereal, oatmeal, and waffles (couldn't at least hard boil some eggs for me? ). That's not breakfast, definitely not "deluxe continental" and the orange juice was at least watered down 50/50. Hot tub was more like a warm tub. Underground parking is convenient. Service was decent and I appreciated the LCD TV and HD cable.

Room is dirty and dusty, carpet is needed to be change. Staff is rude, unprofessional. No customer service at all. Down the street you can find another hotel which is cheaper than this one; but have an excellent and professional customer service, room is bigger and cleaner. So, shop around before you book.

This hotel is in need of some updates! It's clean and the staff are very nice but really it's just a step above a Super 8. Carpets are threadbare, towels are small, one bar of soap and you couldn't even get a set of wine glasses in the honeymoon suite! You hear everything including the bed when you roll over or climb in. It'd be okay if you were just there to crash and go skiing in the morning but if you're looking for a nice getaway with someone special go somewhere else.
