From the moment you enter the Inn you are made to feel like you are at home. First step, remove your shoes at the door and throw on your slippers! Second step, being welcomed by the wonderful host. 3rd step make yourself at home and enjoy your stay. The most delicious gourmet breakfast is included with your stay. This is no regular hotel breakfast, todays breakfast was buttermilk waffles topped with berries and fresh whip cream, sausage, eggs and fresh fruit. We would highly recommend The Lady Macdonald Inn for your next Canmore stay!

The morning breakfast were great and the portion size was reasonable. The coffee was great … the smoothies were awesome.
The queen size bed was comfortable. I recommend this place. My wife did a excellent job of finding this hidden gem in Canmore.

A lovely little b&b close to the highway and city Center. The owners are very welcoming and so are their dogs. My room was brand new and very bright and spacious. Morning breakfast was amazing. If they upgrade their Wi-Fi the place will be perfect! I’d definitely stay there again.

The inn is a great place. Rooms are clean, quaint and quiet. Bre and Milo are terrific hosts.

This beautiful Inn posses such beautiful energy and sense of “Home away from Home” The fireplace is always appreciated and brings the guests together. The available board/card games are available. The breakfast menu is different each day, always cooked fresh and coffee and daily smoothies are amazing! I met at one time sitting in the common area (living room) 8 different nationalities. The experience is unique and truly makes your mountain getaway extra special. I highly recommend Lady MacDonald Inn. ❤️

This unique B&B is a breath of fresh air. The decor, the warmth, the hospitality, the tasty breakfasts, and the relaxing, friendly atmosphere just makes you feel right at home. I will definitely return!

Where do I begin? My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Lady MacDonald the third week of July. To start, the location is ideal. Walking distance to anything you’d need. About an hour and 15 from Calgary airport, 20 mins to Banff and about an hour to the popular Moraine Lake and Lake Louise. The Inn itself is immaculate. It has such a quaint and cozy feel, you almost don’t want to venture out for the day. Location and building aside, the absolute best part of Lady MacDonald is the owner Perry and his staff. Never in my life have I get such a warm welcome, like family, when staying anywhere. His staff keep everything so clean and tidy. Perry is one of the kindest, most charismatic and hospitable people I’ve ever met. Every morning, the highlight was waking up to see what culinary creation he had come up with for breakfast that day. You CANNOT beat Lady MacDonald. I’d recommend without hesitation to everyone and would never dream of staying anywhere but here when visiting this area. Thank you so much Perry!

This is a beautiful building, and decorated/equipped very much in keeping. Breakfast was a delight each day. I felt almost like I lived here, and feel so blessed to have settled on Lady Macdonald for our stay.

A charming mountain Inn, family run with only 11 rooms. Some rooms are two storeys and have fireplaces. Antiques decorate the building inside and out, and it is carpeted with the Alberta tartan.

The Lady MacDonald Country Inn was so lovely and homey. The rooms were gorgeous and the breakfast was delicious! I will stay again when I visit Canmore!

Five stars for this very charming inn. I've stayed there on a couple of different occasions and have been blown away by the hospitality, the cleanliness and the delicious breakfast smoothies. The owner and staff go above and beyond for their guests. I highly recommend it as your next Canmore getaway.

We visited Canmore this weekend for a friend's wedding. The Lady MacDonald Country in was great, the rooms were clean and the staff were friendly. We booked this hotel due to its great price and location and really enjoyed our stay, we would be likely to stay here again should we ever return to Canmore for a weekend getaway.

Very nice place. I was late to check in so they called me to let me know that they've left my key in the mail box. The room was cozy. The breakfast was absolutely fine. It was not just butter, cheese and jam like many other places. They offered scrambled eggs with a good chunk of hot ham with chi seeds and fruits. They also had home-made granola bars. But the best part of breakfast was the live guitar performance by a local artist. I wish I had more time to spend there.

Stayed here for the first time on a long weekend. Absolutely loved it! They have a beautiful wraparound porch to sit and enjoy your morning coffee. They serve a beautiful breakfast as well. Quaint and very comfortable.

Just stayed one night because of bad highways. Very well appointed room with fireplace. Clean and comfortable room. Not your typical hotel — I think they may also have spa services — but I would stay again.

Great place to stay. I sort of wish we had spent more than one night. The host was very nice, and our room was pretty nice. Absolutely enjoyed the soaker tub.

We booked a room at The Lady McDonald for a couples getaway in Canmore. We were warmly greeted by Quinton and Charlie, the labradoodle. Our Mount Temple Loft room was even better than the pictures! We reminisced about how much our kids would love the loft and planned to make a future visit. The entire Inn is charming, and I chuckled and was impressed at the same time by the courtesy ear plugs on the night table. Back in the dining room, we were offered tea or juice from the mini fridge. It all seemed too good to be true! As the evening progressed, the room that mirrored ours was obviously occupied. We could hear what sounded like 2 women chatting for hours through the wall. At bedtime it continued, but we figured it would subside soon. Being parents of young children, we looked forward to not being woke at the crack of dawn. Well, that was not the case! There is little sound insulation in the walls, and 6:15AM the chatter started again and continued to get louder and louder! As far as the Inn itself, it was perfect! Charming, cozy, clean, comfortable, well decorated with antique furniture to keep the feel just right. Breakfast was stuffed french toast with a side of fresh fruit. Truly the only thing that could have made our stay better was a fire in the main fireplace, but I'm sure had I asked, they would have started one. I'm hopeful for a better experience next time we visit The Lady McDonald.

Great place to stay and feel like you are at home. The hotel manager Diane made us feel right at home and was able to accommodate a later check-in. The breakfast (included) was amazing and even catered to celiac and vegan needs. Will definitely stay here again!

Our stay with The Lady Macdonald was extraordinary. There is no greater word to use. It was an absolute experience that showed us majesty and professionalism. We call it a bed and breakfast due to the fact that we slept in a room that must have been occupied by royalty at some point and then served a fresh and delicious breakfast in the morning. Not only was our service genuine and exquisite but the entire building was clean, up to date, and very much exactly what we were looking for. So often do we end up in these “hotel-like” stays where we aren’t allowed to touch anything or do anything that strays away from our room, which is what made this experience so enjoyable – we were allowed to explore! My boyfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary so it was an incredible feeling to be welcomed into their establishment as a gay couple. When it was time for dinner, we had no idea where to go, being that we are both fairly indecisive people but Diane, the manager of The Lady Macdonald, gave us a brilliant suggestion to visit the cute and authentic Greek restaurant down the street. She was correct! It was everything we needed. Coming back to the Inn was just as lovely as Diane greeted us at the door again, made us feel like family, and wished us a well night of sleep. Diane should be recognized for her ability to run this entire establishment with very little assistance – as she floats around the Inn in a graceful, respectful manor.

My wife and I stayed at Lady Macdonald for a few days in July, 2017. We really enjoyed our time and would recommend it to anyone travelling to the Banff or Canmore areas. They excelled in all the standard areas that a place to stay needs to (cleanliness, quality breakfast, quiet at night, etc). But it was really the little things that made this a five-star experience for us: fruit smoothies with breakfast, high quality shampoo and body wash in the shower, providing us a plac…e to store frozen food we had for the next stop on our trip, loose leaf tea to sample. These things all combined to create a very peaceful and restorative atmosphere to come back to after each day of exploring in the area. We will be back again. Not just saying that, we've actually booked a couple nights in October when some personal business takes us out to Calgary.

I really enjoyed the details: Rocky Mountain Soap, gourmet herbal loose teas, refreshing morning smoothie, modern air conditioning, fresh flowers in the entryway, French floral linens — with the traditional home away from home feel that comes with classic bnbs: offer to make breakfast to take on our bike ride, slippers only, wrap around porch, chit chat in the dining room with other guests from abroad. I felt like a "guest in someone's home. Hope to be back again, will book directly with the inn next time and some time in the spa ahead of time! Thank you, Diane and staff!

Amazing! If you want the feeling of home this is hands down the place to go. The rooms are extremely clean. Great friendly staff. Awesome homemade breakfast. It was a really well equipped place to stay. Just like staying at families. Would go there again and again.

Really nice bed and breakfast. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was individually plated and consisted of a homemade French toast with a delicious blueberry filling, sausage and fresh fruit. It's close to the train so you get some loud sounds but they provide ear plugs. Definitely will stay there again!

Fabulous weekend — perfect location, excellent morning meal, sitting room is a delightful place to relax after a day of xc-skiing. New owners are lovely and have put a great deal of care and thought into the renovations of the Inn.

We had recently stayed at the Inn and loved it. The hospitality was incredible, the food was amazing and our room was beautiful and spacious. All with a stunning view of the mountains. I loved that it had on old fashioned feel to it. We would highly recommend staying at this place.

We are staying at this hotel for 3 nights. The breakfast is amazing with their own in house baked bread. The owners were very welcoming and answered any questions or concerns that we had. The inn is very close to the city and is a few minutes walk to the nearest grocery store which was very helpful for when we needed snacks and fruit. This in was very accommodating, would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an affordable and accessible inn.

The place isn't bad, just needs a little more TLC, little fixer uppers. (Paint touch ups, floor repair, yard work, and exterior touch ups). Maybe a noon check in, and check out. Some people like to sleep in on Sunday's, especially those parents away from there kids. And, maybe breakfest till 11, or brunch on Sunday. That way you don't need to be rushed out the door.
