As far as cheap motels go, I had no problems with the Bow River Inn. The bed was really firm, which my wife did not appreciate but I happen to like, and the complimentary breakfast was very light, but I had a restful stay here.

Location is great. We we're upgrade to a king size bed no charge. Staff is nice. Room is nice and clean.

Very good motel. Decent European style breakfast included.

AWFUL! The heat doesn’t work properly, when we talked to the front desk they said this was normal, so we cuddled up for the night (which was nice) but in the recent weather, we didn’t want to get up from the HORRIBLY UNCOMFORTABLE bed, into the freezing room the next morning. It was an awful experience, I guess for the price, this is what you get, from now on, we will choose the Day’s Inn next door. I can’t understand how anyone who wants comfort would choose this place. Awful bed, awful room temps, awful “kitchenette” (if you can call a hot plate a kitchenette), the bed made me want to go back home and back to work… horrible vacation.

The Bow River Inn was very accommodating to everything that we asked. The suite was spacious with all the amenities needed, and the price was fantastic.

The gentlemen behind the counter was super nice and calm. He helped us sort out a accident on my end with booking the wrong day and didn't charge us extra! The room was clean and spacious!

Clean and well maintained, simple but has everything you need. Great place for the price.

Nice big room. Wood floors which I prefer over carpet. Restaurants within walking distance. Wifi reliable. I chose this motel to visit Banff & Lac Louise, I felt it was a bit far. If I was to do it again, I would sleep in Canmore.

Good place to stay. Maid service need some work. But for the price no complaints. I will stay there again the next time I'm in town.

Big clean rooms, comfy beds,, friendly, helpful owners, and we loved being so close to the Bow River walking/jogging trail. Continental breakfast was fine and we enjoyed a decent cup of Keurig coffee with coffee cream and the local newspaper to get us going in the morning.

The room is clean and the bed is alright. The staff are friendly and helpful. This could be a much better place but it requires some serious upgrades. The beds are ok, but should be replaced. The beds need proper sheets and a comforter or duvet. The pillows are garbage. The towels need to be changed out. The standard towel here is way too small. The Wi-Fi is a seriously slow connection and should be upgraded. The TV looks new, but the cable connection is pretty shoddy. The lighting in the room could also be improved. I wouldn't stay here again unless the improvements were made. There are plenty of other hotels in the area that have better amenities and are the same price or only slightly higher.

Mom and Pop style Inn. We were offered to see room before paying. Room was a nice surprise. Updated, modern, clean. Staff at desk. Friendly and really nice. Great location between Calgary and Banff. Thank you.

. 5 mgb download speed on Wi-Fi! Are you kidding? Its 2017! Decent Wi-Fi download speed is a must when staying at a motel and that's a dealbreaker for our family. We are forced to look for another hotel in Cochrane area next time. Clean room though, if you get one of their newly renovated rooms.

Room was clean and newly renovated. Bed was very confartable. Big flat screen tv. Basic breakfest on the lobby.

Older motel but updated rooms. It was quiet and very restful. Wonderful location, east access to the trails and short walk downtown.

Clean, quiet, family run establishment. Well priced for the area.

What a joke,,, we called from the highway, were told there was room until we arrived then they had NO rooms except double suites,,, Isn't it bad enough these hotels raise their rates for weekends and summer without these common thieves trying to basically steal more by lying about occupancy! will never return, new owners speak no English and lie to customers to try to steal money!

We contacted Bow River Inn couple days before our visit and the person at the front desk was really helpful and held the reservation for us, although we failed to submit the deposit. We ended up to never stay at this hotel because of last minute changes, but I know because of this pleasant experience we will definitely make this hotel our first choice during our next visit to Calgary/Chocrane. This experience already shows we're dealing with high quality customer service. Thank you guys!

Very clean, nice big room, quiet and cheaper than all the name brand hotels along the street. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again.

When arriving in Cochrane from the North we hit all the main "name brand" hotels and all were full. At the end of the street was the Bow River Inn. We have just finished a cross Canada trip twice and I would have to say that this hotel is miles above all of the others we stayed in! This motel is under new ownership (since spring 2014) and the owners and managers are Japanese. The rooms were spotless, they have upgraded many items in the rooms, the linens, drapes, carpets were all lovely, furnishings were newer, beds and pillows were great! The owner greeted us when we arrived and showed us to our room, as well as brought a blanket for our little dog. Friendly customer service, nice little breakfast and just the cleanest rooms we've ever stayed in. Do yourself a favor and skip all the name brands dirty, broken, worn, and full of work crews and try this little family run motel.

Upon arriving at the Bow River Inn I was pleansantly greeted by the staff. I recognized that the facility was older and a 'budget' location. I was pleasantly surprised they offer lovely continental breakfast. My room was large and appeared clean. It appeared that the facility was used mostly by workers during the week. The area was quiet and people I met were pleasant. The location is very nice as it backs onto a soccer field and several trails that lead to beautiful scenery. The motel staff were mindful of my request to ensure staff did not open my room's door to prevent my dog from escaping; they made a note in their files to ensure all their staff were notified of this concern. The reason I've rated this facility with only three stars is because of their phone system. I did not have a phone with me; but even if I did have my cell phone, I only use it for emergencies in order to not use up my phone minutes. However, I did have an emergency but I was unable to use the phone in the room until the reception person in the office released the phone's line. I had to make a request to use the phone several times, including after midnight. It was a significant inconvenience. There was no Calgary phone book (even the office didn't have a phone book). If I had had a medical emergency I don't know how I could have called for an ambulance. This was very distressing. And being a senior, along with my vehicle emergency, I felt very vulnerable.

The beds were very comfortable and the rooms are very clean.

Not so great anymore. Husband discovered bedbugs and also his I pad was being used when he wasn't in the room.

Great value for the price, friendly front desk staff and had a good night's sleep.
