We checked out yesterday from this fantastic hotel and are so pleased that we booked it.
Arrival — we were met at the airport by 'Saturday' (her English name) who was absolutely wonderful! We were given little scarfs to wear and the driver pulled around promptly to which we were offered water, soft drink or cold beers as soon as we got into the car along with cold towels! Room — we booked the deluxe urban room package that includes the 4 course Khmer dinner and spa treatments. The room is plenty big enough! Private temple tour — wow! This was special. We thought the two day tour at $503 seemed somewhat expensive but is definitely worth it. We had our own private guide — Thom, who I really cannot praise enough. He was fantastic and knew all the best photo spots, times to get to the temples so that they weren't too busy and was a genuinely lovely guy who was a delight to spend time with. I cannot recommend booking this private tour through the hotel enough, you will not be disappointed. And if you can, ask for 'Vutha Bong Thom'! The staff — without a doubt the best staff we have have had the pleasure of meeting! Every single member wether it's a waiter, manager or cleaner smiles, says hello and talks to you about your day and how your stay is. They make you feel like royalty from the moment you arrive to leaving. We have never had an experience like it and loved it! The only problem now is customer service anywhere else is being compared to it and isn't the as good as the Golden. I have written a much more detailed review on TripAdvisor. We will definitely be coming back to Cambodia in the future and without a doubt staying at the Golden Temple Residence!
