After coming here for years for our little ski trip — what a disappointment — what’s happened to all the friendly helpful staff? Food has gone down in quality and the staff miserable and u helpful. Real shame — for the price their charging we might as well booked one of the cheaper hotels — also since when did the hotel bar become the most expensive drinks on the resort.

I don’t recommend RILA Hotel services at all! They provide low quality of services. We bought 3 ski pass tickets (2 adults and one child). They did not mention that we can buy a family pass, so they charged with 20% more instead of giving discount. Then, they blocked my ski pass tickets for two hours saying that I can’t use it, even though I was the one who paid for. The guys from the ski cabin are miserable, they don’t know how to treat tourists. Nobody speak English, therefore is very difficult to talk to them. I would not recommend at all!

So practical, everything within a couple hundred meters walk. Hotel has great facilities. Nice spa. Good ski, boot and pole hire. Clean rooms. The only negative is that there is limited storage in some of the rooms, my room doesn’t have a wardrobe or drawers so clothes are spread out on the desk, but a friend who is here does have a wardrobe and has no problem with storage. All in all great value for money and I will absolutely stay here again!

High class hotel, great location, good food, and very cheap.

This is one of the best places for kids I can recommend for the summer days, especially during the weekdays where season is low:) 1. Great breakfast, lunch and dinner, vegetables and fruit were fresh 2. Polite, friendly and cheerful staff 3. Extra activities if you get full package that is included in the price — rope climbing, jumping on the trampoline, arcade games, activities for kids — everyone from staff in both hotel and Borosport are very friendly 4. Clean rooms, exceptionally clean hotel 5. The location is perfect for walks, biking 6. Great spa, clean pool with water suitable for swimming :) Reception staff is also very helpful. Can’t think of anything to improve, we have amazing time :)

Very nice Hotel, Very clean, Staff very friendly, Rooms are very nice and comfortable and clean. Very good location. Spa is good, but deck chairs by the pool could be more modern and comfortable. Food is nice… Recommendation!

Luxurious, clean and great service. Even in times of COVID 19 they had very high cleaning standards. Food was also excellent.

This was our second time we visited Rila Hotel and it was great, like our first stay in 2018. Although we are living in troubled times with this Coronavirus epidemic, we felt very safe at the hotel during our stay. All the employes were using protective gear and all the areas were cleaned up really well. They even handed out masks to people that didn't had one. The food was really good, as usual. You had the option to choose from several dishes (different menu every day) and you were served at the table. In some occasions we also had buffet for breakfast/lunch/dinner — everything was protected by shields and the plate was made by the staff according to your selection. The spa and pool area wasn't overcrowded and that was good. We are glad we came back and saw that they are doing their best for everybody to feel safe. Thank you for all your service!

Absolutely amazing hotel with very friendly staff! The bar area, lobby, terrace, restaurants and spa area to name a few are of such high quality! This is our 3rd time to the hotel and would happily return!

We came here for our daughters 9th birthday and it was just amazing! hotel put baloons and cake in the room as well as later sang happy birthday for our daughter. Such a nice friendly service! brilliant hotel, would definetely stay here again!

Great accommodations, service and location! The rooms are clean and spacious and the hotel has fabulous activities with an incredible pool, game room, spa etc. Highly recommended!

Everything was perfect! Helpful staff! When we only had half of our luggage delivered they even washed the only clothes we had! We honestly couldn’t recommend it more! Certainly don’t want to leave! The perfect family skiing experience and you can ski right back to the hotel door!

The Rila serves beautiful food and the staff are extremely friendly (especially D the waiter) ; With lovely views of the slopes from the bar! highly recommend:)

This is probably the best hotel you can visit in Borovets. It was recently renewed and the atmosphere is just amazing. It feels very cosy and the staff really knows how to make the guests feel important and like home. The Terrace lounge is a very nice mixture of a lounge club, restaurant and bar. It has a very nice view over the ski slopes and the food is great and on normal prices and the waiters are really nice and with good manners. Swiss quality management.

Renovated rooms, very big and nice. The elevators, though, are still not very comfortable, slow and you have to wait for one for quite a long time.

All renovated rooms are pretty good and the hotel facilities are generally very well maintained. The staff is in principle nice and friendly. There are few things management of the hotel can improve, but it's still one of the best hotels in Borovets.

The hotel is very nice. Considering it is was summer time, we had fun there. The staff were very responsive. The lounge had great coffee, cakes and ice creams. The surrounding restaurants offered local food in fair prices. The pool was great and warmed, and the parking is free. The only thing we were disappointed with, was that there is no air conditioning in the rooms. Which is missing in summer days. We slept with the balcony door open. Which made it bearable. I bet in winter time I would give it a 5 starts.

The quality of the food at breakfast/dinner is far above any other 5 star hotel I've been! Totalitarian times hotel that was recently renovated. I am quite satisfied with the result unlike most other totalitarian times hotels. The materials are good quality and the interior design is also very good. Great new SPA, the pool is amazing — you can see the ski slope right in front of you.

The rooms are `quite small and there is a lot of noise from the night clubs and restaurants near by, also the workers on the reception are very slaw and we have to wait sometimes for half of hour… but otherwise the ski lines and lifts are just in front of the hotel. They just made new underground parking big enough for the visitors of the hotel. Inside the hotel is amazing! All we know its a old hotel but they restored everything (and the rooms) there is new spa center but they increased the price of it. The restaurants and the activities inside the hotel are a lot and all good.

Nice place, friendly stuff, great swimming pool. Rooms are quite basic, matrasses are not very comfortable. Bathroom needed some renovation and a floor was very slippery. Placement of a hotel is great and a food is fine, although not too many vegetarian options.

Had a week's stay here while skiing and loved it. It's in an ideal location at the foot of the slopes. We had a room on the 8th floor overlooking the slopes and the view was great (see photo). There are 2 halves to the hotel. We were in the older half with the newer half containing the superior rooms. No complaints about our room though, it was clean and functional and was cleaned daily. Superior rooms have a kettle in them whereas the others don't. Food (breakfast and dinner) was fine, although we did eat out some nights for a change of scenery. Big bar on ground floor and a terrace bar on the second floor. Service is far better in the terrace bar and the food is lovely in there especially the potato wedges. We didn't use the spa, but those we spoke to who had said it was good. We would definitely recommend here and would stay here again. I'd like to give it 4.5 stars but can't. Not worth 5 just due to the surly attitude of some staff members especially in the main bar.

We went for a room upgrade with Piste View, well worth a small amount extra to pay, the hotel is modern with good facilities, we found the food to be good and all of the staff to be very friendly and helpful, especially in the ski storage room. Very reasonable prices, if this hotel were to be located in France the costs would be double… big thumbs up to Bulgaria and Borovets. I would definitely recommend the hotel Rila and will be coming back here again!

On first impressions staff need to cheer up everyone looks so miserable. Our room is nice with a fantastic view overlooking the ski slopes. Let's see what our first day brings.

Very nicely done, well maintained with competent and nice staff. The spa area is very nice… Suffering is all very expensive.

Hotel itself looked lovely, lobby and bars brilliant, staff were friendly. Get into the bedroom and it was very dated and the curtains didn’t fit the window, beds not very comfy. Water quality poor, we had dirty coloured bath water before the water pipe disruption half way through the week. Ok hotel but you pay a lot for not much!

The hotel has become expensive. The kitchen is normal. The service is good. But there's not a single hook in the bathroom.

Perfect location and pleasant surroundings. As happy as I was not to spend any money while using your free Wi-Fi, there does come a point where you need a drink and you staff's complete lack of interest in serving customers in the coffee shop does eventually result in you leaving and going elsewhere. I've just watched two tables of people do the same — it's not even very busy! Won't rush to attempt any more of your guest services if this is best you can do.

You can't find the best places! All very much liked, be sure to come and recommend everyone.

Summary: unfriendly restaurant staff, incredibly slow service (1.5 hours to serve a simple salad), insufficient beer, etc. We booked several tables in the restaurant of the hotel for dinner. We were asked to order our food in advance, including salads, main dishes, and desserts. It was supposed to help them prepare. To our amazement, when we arrived at the restaurant (6 hours after we ordered), the restaurant was not even ready to serve the salads. It took them almost 2 hours to serve the main dishes and they did not arrive together (30 mins apart). A dessert was missing, but restaurant still wanted us to pay. Restaurant staff was unfriendly from the start.

Third time here, this year some issues have gone and this is truly the best option for many reasons. Ski-in-out, nice view, wide variety on breakfast, decent dinner, nice lobby, free sauna/pool/hammam. Medium to low English from most staff, single beds in rooms and price are the downside.

It's a beautiful hotel. We lived in the updated rooms of Superior overlooking the lift. Visited the spa he had here really lovely. Huge Olympic swimming pool, about five types of saunas and steam rooms. Loved the hotel. Four stars is clearly not enough for this level.

Good location. Overall nice place that does the job it is designed for. The kitchen is far from perfect. The wall outlet placement in the rooms is beyond horrible… you need 4m cable to be able to charge your phone or laptop in the bed or next to the bed… so be prepared. Добър хотел като цяло. Ако очаквате да си заредите телефона до леглото… задължително си носете поне 2м разклонител… по-добре 3… разположението на контактите в стаята е ужасно.

Decent prices for what you get. Great location. Polite personnel.

Very very good breakfast. Good for company events — big and medium meeting halls. The rooms are smelly and the air cannot be cleared. Despite the the old smell in the rooms, everything else is great.

The best location in the resort. Perfect view. Best indoor pool and SPA. Lovely hotel will be visit it again.
