Reviews of Osmarski Houses 3*
Better than described — and expected — accompdations, appearance, feel, and overall experience at this place. It’s located nearly at the end of the last village and somewhat elevated than the rest of the surrounding buildings. Perfect views of the hills and landscape from all rooms. It’s quite and peaceful. Gradens, rooms, and common areas are well maintained and remarkably clean. In fact, it’s the cleanest hotel room I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been to hundreds. Customer service from the owner and staff was way above standard, excellent and unique. Quality of food served for breakfast and dinner was great. In fact, better than at any place on my ~2000 km road trip across the country. Good quality homemade meals with fresh product and with a personal touch. The owner clearly takes pride in his job and customer service is at the top of his priorities. If you’re the laid back, relaxed type of person that enjoys good food, good times, appreciates small family run businesses and wants to experience true northeastern Bulgarian cuisine and way of life, than I promise you won’t be disappointed! We were a party of 6 and stayed in 4 rooms in the middle of May 2018 for 5 nights. And we will retun to Osmarski Houses.
Beautiful place in a quiet village. Be sure to eat in the restaurant as well for the complete experience!

My wife and I stayed here as part of a group for 4 nights. If I could leave more than 5 stars I would: This place is magical and the service we received exceptional… the owner’s name is Teodor and he was very kind and hospitable. He had other staff but did a lot of everything. This place also had a tavern which served traditional Bulgarian Food. The food was delicious, fresh and the service one of a kind. The owner has done a great job in striking a balance between preserving the history and charm of the property and providing all modern amenities. The property is immaculate, peaceful and quite. This is an ideal getaway for somebody looking to get away from the hectic city life. Osmar is known for its Pelin, which is a derivative of wine but not wine. I highly recommend you try it and ask the owner to explain its history. The locals are friendly and kind and there is plenty to do and see nearby. The first two Bulgarian capitals, Pliska and Preslav are short drive away. You also have Shumen, the biggest city nearby a short 20 min drive away. You can see the famous Madara horseman, the old Shumen fortress and Shumen monument. There are also a few hikes you can do the village that take you to some old churches located on top of the mountain. You can ask the owner anything and he would be more than glad to explain.
