It is a luxury hostel at a very low price. Really a pleasure the staff and the luxury location.
The house is a period house, like staying in a museum.

They welcome you royally and treat you royally. Very friendly. Sparkling clean. Not too much crowded. Perfect location. Comfortable. This is basically a antique hostel. Everything is from vintage stuff. Even my bed was one of that. Slept like a king. Highly recommend.

We were only here for two days but I wish it had been for two weeks! Could this place have been any more charming? I loved it! The rooms are something out of a period drama or enchanting children's story. There is a lovely back garden with a cat and the breakfast is great! The location is super nice. Bathrooms are shared, but well kept. Book this place or regret it forever!

Easily one of the best hostels I've seen anywhere. Anyone with common sense would appreciate the fact that they're sleeping in a century-old house, a monument of culture, on beautiful antique beds, for a price which in most places is just enough to get you a bunk bed and coffee, if you're lucky. The — 1 star is more like a disclaimer — you may find the lack of some typical hotel "luxuries" inconvenient — shared bathrooms, for example. However, these are minor details. This house is neither a hotеl, nor a typical hostel — it's a one-of-a-kind accomodation. :)

Absolutely wonderful boutique hostel! Worth every penny! Comfortable single beds, big lockers in a rustic spacious room. Very social atmosphere if you're a solo traveller and excellent staff. Also great for people working and travelling, nice garden to do your work and good Wi-Fi. Location is amazing, set right smack in the old town. Highly highly recommended!

Very warm welcome and very neat decoration, I would recommend this place to prolong the experience of visiting the old town. In addition, this gives right to the parking lot next door while the old town is normally forbidden to the car.

I stayed at Old Plovdiv with a bunch of friends over the weekend and we all agree that was one of the best accommodation choices we have ever made. The facilities are great. Everything about this place is super cozy: the garden, the common room, the bedrooms. Moreover, the staff is super friendly and caring and we had lots of good chats. The location is ideal — in the beautiful old part of the city and 5 min away from the main walking street: secluded and central at the same time. There is a certain vibe in this hostel that makes it hard to leave and we will most certainly be coming back!

The last time I stayed there was in the beginning of March with 2 other people for 4 days. Again, the hostel and the staff did not cease to amaze me. The atmosphere is amazing. The rooms were clean, the beds were very comfortable and the staff was always happy to help and recommend the best places in town. We had to arrive later than expected, but it was not a problem. The common room is really cozy and the outside garden is beautiful. Very central location as well. I would stay there again and will strongly recommend.

Me and my family had a wonderful time staying at Hostel Old Plovdiv! The manager was so kind and friendly — he took the time to give us tips and information about the city! We were met by the lovely receptionist at the front door, she kindly helped us with anything we needed! The room was beautiful and very very clean! The Old Town is quiet and so rich in culture but at the same time, the city center and Kapana district were 5 minutes away! We highly recommend Hostel Old Plovdiv to anyone who's looking for a fantastic stay in a great city!

We were so amazed by our stay at hostel Old Plovdiv! Our room, and the house in general, was gorgeously decorated! The staff was so kind and friendly — one of the receptionists immediately became our friend — thank you, Petya! The room was very clean and very quiet! The house is close to the city center and some of the most interesting sights in Plovdiv. We highly recommend this hostel to anyone!

Very cozy, the room was beautiful, we took a private room for three with shared bathroom, maybe sharing bathroom should have more bathrooms as when we went to shower in the morning, it was impossible, many queues. The breakfast that comes included is very good, very complete, also, the night before they ask if you are vegetarian to be able to offer alternatives. Good value for money.

Charming hostel/inn in the old town, I enjoyed the central location and the quietness; rustic style is charming indeed, with the backyard terrace. The welcome is very warm! The only drawback is to actually get to the place (or leave it), as taxis refuse to take the cobblestones streets leading to it. If you don't mind carrying your suitcases and take buses, it is fine. :) If you can, ask for a room on the second floor.

Very good hostel. Good location Good atmosphere. The staff were very helpful. The building is Classic city. The breakfast was very good. Plus free coffee, tea and juice. If you come by car, tell them to give you a pass.

If you want to get into the spirit of ancient Plovdiv, then you need to stay there. Wonderful! I envy those who are just getting ready to experience it.

From day one of booking this wonderful establishment I felt a very warm welcome. The owner emailed with information and a contact number from my initial booking with a booking web site.
I was stopping one night after a short break in Smolyan with my children and my mother. A lovely welcoming sign awaited our arrival along with home made lemonade, a special cake and bottle of bubbly for my mum;s 80th birthday.
The owner is a fabulous host and his staff were all friendly and helpful.
The hostel was stunning. We had a room with 5 beds in a beautiful room. It was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was great. It is located in the heart of the old town, close enough to the new. I can not recommend this hostel enough. Thank you to Hristo and his team.

This is a wonderful guest house/hostel, stunning restoration, perfect location with a pleasant common room and garden. Really helpful and friendly staff who offer an induction meeting and orientation. The breakfast room is partially excavated to show Roman structure. Loved our stay and would have readily spent far longer here.

Hey guys, Thanks again for another great stay! The room was perfect, breakfast was tasty and the staff were ace. The building is beautiful and in such a great location. Definitely stay here if there is space! This time I booked a private room for two at 45 euros which is fine. In our room though was a sign that said two and three bed private rooms would be charged at 15 euros per bed (30 euros in total) I told the person on reception when we left that the sign was there and you might want to take it down to avoid any other upset customers and I think because of the language barrier he took it a bit badly. All I suggest is you remove the sign.

Luxury boutique hotel in the heart of the Old Town Pros: perfect location, in the heart of the Plovdiv Old Town; very kind & helpful staff; nice accomodation with two separate bedrooms (room no. 4, main building) ; staying here means experiencing a National Revival mansion first hand; quality and plentiful toiletries; very nice shared balcony at the 1st floor; very good breakfast; very good pricey restaurant (salmon dish, huge wine list) ; free public parking; Cons: very poor free Wi-Fi (upload was a disaster) ; heat was not working in the master bedroom, and in the other one was very noisy; shower cord and curtain need replacement; ugly light bulbs — they should be replaced with LED candle shaped ones, to fit in the ancient athmosphere;

I've been traveling non stop since 2009 and I stayed in just too many places, so believe me when I say that this is one of the best hostels in the world. Old Plovdiv is a great hostel to stay in Plovdiv and one that I wish I spent more time. The house is old but it was perfectly restored and it feels like a museum sometimes. The attention to details the owner (Hristo) put into restoring this amazing house is fantastic. It looks and feels perfect. If the whole place isn't historical, beautiful and still not reason enough for you, the hostel is located in the old city center, it is very clean, the rooms are amazing, the beds comfortable (no bunk beds), fast Wi-Fi, the shower perfect, the free breakfast is the one of the best I've ever had and the staff is truly super friendly and helpful. Hristo (the owner) loves his hostel and you see that by the way he takes care of the place and how passionate he is when he talks about all that building been through. We felt very very welcome and our stay couldn't have been better!

I went in June 2014. The building was absolutely gorgeous and situated in the lovely location of the old town of Plovdiv. It is a little further out from the centre of the city, but it is not very difficult to get to. I was in the shared room, with 4 beds, and it was a great price to stay in a place like that. Breakfast every morning was great, and there were two computers in the building that were accessible for free. The size of the storage per person in the shared room is huge, not just a tiny little locker like a lot of hostels. Wonderful.

I recommend to those who love imbued with the atmosphere of the place is it is better not to find:) pure, charismatic, VERY HOSPITABLY.
Tip: grab your shoes with thick elastic sole is a large part of the old town is a paving stones in various shapes.

Staying at this beautiful Bulgarian Revival style house is the best way to experience the Bulgarian Renaissance first hand. Located at the heart of the old town and the contemporary center of the city of Plovdiv you won't need your car as everything is within walking distance. The service is better than any of the places we've stayed at home in the U. S. — they really care about providing the best experience for their guests. We will definitely come back next time we visit Plovdiv. This is a promise!

Loving care. Seriously, I accidentally left my wallet and they washed all my cash and credit cards. They scolded me for being "not so secure" but took care of me and every dollar was returned. The restaurant is intimate and warmed by a central fireplace. My favorite hotel ever in all of Europe — and the $99/night cost didn't hurt either.

Best place in ancient center.

Advertises air con but not in rooms. Some rooms face a very busy street that drunk people usually cross and yell in middle of the night. They have laundry and desktop to use but of course both cost money. Euro per hour on their comp. Location is perfect where backpackers should stop, in the middle of the old city.
