Guesthouse Montemno Hotel

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ We stayed at Villa Montemno for 5 nights at the start of August ‘19. This was a chance to unwind after a number of weeks on the tourist trail traveling in Bulgaria and Romania, and before a return to work. Our stay was restful and quiet, with a couple of mountain walks and daily beers at a hotel within easy walking distance. Villa Montemno is much more than it’s name and description suggests. Read the description on its web page or on the hotel booking sites and you will only get half the story. Villa Montemno is all that it says it is and much more. The beds are comfortable, the bathroom is immaculately clean, the shower is hot and the Wi-Fi is good. Within this price range, one hopes for a communal kitchen and dining room but does not expect very much. At Montemno the commercial kitchen gleams with stainless steal surfaces, has an induction cooktop and oven and solid, heavy based cookware. Like the bathrooms, the kitchen is spotlessly clean. The dining room easily accommodates 26 people on two split levels, although I do not know if there are that many beds in the Villa. Matte, runs the Villa on site. In spite of us not sharing a common language, we understood each other well enough. He is generous with his hospitality and warmth, sharing food and his excellent home made rakia with us. Over the five days, he taught us Bulgarian phrases while we had conversations using our phones to help with translations.
