I just want to second my boyfriend Samuel's review, we were that impressed by this place. We arrived for a friend's wedding after a harrowing journey from Rio, not being Portuguese speakers and having had trouble directing our taxi driver from the bus station to this place. We explained this issue to the hotel and asked for assistance getting back to the bus station. Not only did the staff member — we did not ask for her name, stupidly, but she was blonde and had glasses — call her friend to personally drive us, she made sure he stayed until we got on our bus to make sure we had not problems. She even walked us to the car when it arrived and reiterated everything in front of us to the driver. Talk about going above and beyond, we really, really appreciated it and liked this place!

I was here for my friends' wedding and I have truly never been better looked after! The staff were immensely helpful and thoughtful. One lady in particular, who was petit with blonde hair and glasses (I mistakenly forgot to get her name) went above and beyond in making sure we made our connections (via bus) back to Rio after the reception.
She called a local man to drive us to the bus depot and instructed him to come with us to get tickets and make sure we made it to the bus okay. She let us remain in our room rather than wait out in the road and called us when the driver arrived.
While I'm sure we may have been able to do this with a taxi driver that we had called on our own, it felt much safer to have her talk with the driver who she met on the road and instructed in person as we put out belongings in the car.
We had had an incredibly bad experience with a taxi driver earlier in the day. He had gotten completely lost en route to Locanda Della mimosa. We ended up miles out on ever diminishing road surfaces and unless we had had a phone signal to buy data and use GPS I'm fairly sure we would have missed the wedding altogether (he also wanted to charge us the full amount that the metre had run up to — which I refused to pay, only giving him what I thought fair — because for a good half of the time he was lost and asking locals for directions).
