Che Lagarto Hostel Ilha Grande Hostel

Está localizado no início da praia de Vila Abraão, é tambem uma das paradas do barco do transfer de uma empresa pois o dono dessa é o mesmo do hostel, o que facilita bastante a chegada/saída de ilha grande. No entanto para ir até algum supermercado ou restaurantes mais em conta é necessário caminhar bastante pois todos estão no centrinho da vila. Encontrei uma barata na minha cama, no hostel não tem água potável para os hóspedes que precisam comprar sempre… Staff e café da manhã são bons mas é só isso.

The staff in the toilet very good very friendly, but the front desk staff is not helpful, the facilities are antiguisimas should renovate things, for the price there are better hostels.

The morning we arrived at the hostel the whole island was with no electricity. Considering the water system is electrical, Che Lagarto SHOULD have a generator. Have no basics is already bad, but have no basics in a hostel that charges R$120 per night is just terrible. The beds in the 4 people bedroom are considerably old and noisy and Wi-Fi does not work inside the bedrooms. In the morning, a poor breakfast is placed in the deck area that, indeed, has an amazing view to the island but is full of trash underneath (highlight to the holes in the wood pieces and the big rats walking every once in a while). Some staff are quite rude and do not try to keep a nice atmosphere or control the mess some guests did in the corridors during the night. And, again, we paid R$120 per night. You can easily find better accommodation for a better price. The only nice thing about this hostel was (part of) the staff team. The girls in the kitchen/cleaning are super friendly, give great advice and have an amazing mood! Natan, a receptionist, is great and has the best tips!

Very poor breakfast. The air conditioner. They turn it on to the Moche even if you die of heat. There is no water dispenser and a single refrigerator. The bar only has beer and Caipirinhia.

The facilities in the bad rooms. Many beds together, do not give towels and if the order is charged, they do not make the beds, they clean the rooms half, the bunk bed very close to the ceiling (30cm), they do not let in with drinks, they do not have shower enclosure, they do not have generator group and the light is cut every day, breakfast is poor, they don't accept credit. Very good Caipi not return.

One of the best hostes in Ilha. Quiet, clean, new (less than 5 months old while writing this). It is ideal for couples or turists that want to rest over to party.

The hostel is allocated next to Aqurio Hostel (where the party’s happen from Wednesday to Sunday) presenting your room card to the party and you will be entitle to have a free entrance. The staff in general is no attentive, no welcoming and my opinion unprofessional showing very little interest for what they do. The room wasn’t very clean, and shower room was very dirty and floors full dust and sand beach … The room has bed bugs I was beaten in few occasion, I shower myself in repellent for insect but didn’t help for bed bugs. I left my clothes to be clean (laundry service) for next day as I was running out next day to pick up they told me that they service wasn’t available and they didn’t know who left the clothes there. The staff member pass me the bag and that was all, not even sorry or anything else, I have also some problem with my change of money as I rent a towel and the staff member was super rude, never mind. I have the opportunity to meet nice people at the breakfast so if you’re solo traveler that’s one of the opportunity to meet new people or at night when beer and caipirinhas are around. Enjoy.

Muito bonito o deck. É um pouco distante do cais principal, mas vale a pena. É possível agendar os passeios no hostel e o barco busca.

Really cool place to stay. Staff was nice and helpfull. Good breakfasts. Amazing atmosphere. Awesome view from the terrace, we got so much energy there. The best caipirinhas from Paulista, German and Augustin! :-) And the island is just beautiful! We want to go back!

The hostel was cheap, friendly staff but bad Management, Bad breakfast, nice location next to the beach.
