Great coffee and food in the cafe. Friendly staff. Decent prices.

If you just need a bed and a shower for the night at a reasonable price then the Velo was fine. Very run down, small rooms and old beds.

Place was clean and comfortable even though it was very basic. Advertised as having a cafe/restaurant but it had closed so had to try elsewhere for a meal.

Perfect spot to set up base for a Bright bike specific week except we had no cooking facilities apart from a microwave, kettle and electric toaster. 6+ cafes and a great bakery within 60secs of the front door and IGA within 90secs walk not to mention the choice of nearby restaurants which we would rate as a highlight of the stay. We did not go hungry and I'm serious when I say the cafes and restaurants we visited were incredibly good. Velo is set up with a bike storage room, enough for a dozen bikes securely, very conveniently downstairs right next to the car parking. The fluffy towels and clean beds along with seriously good hot water meant post ride showers hit the spot every time. The couch. If I could I would tie the couch to the back of my ute and drive it screaming to the dump. It was a folding double bed type and was BLEEEEP ending in … UCKING UNCOMFORTABLE. Might be ok as a spare bed but after a ride and with the Comm Games Road Race on I'd rather do ashtanga yoga than lay on that couch. We had a good bed and enough room to get our stuff done but this is basic. The Rail Trail bike path was also 60 secs away as well as trail access up Bakers Gully Rd and the MTB trails so for a ride or trail run weekend it works really well. Our trip was a success for the most part but thankfully we take an Aeropress Coffee maker every where we go.

Aged but fastidiously maintained and cleaner than any 5 star I have stayed in, it may be basic but it is well located quiet and comfortable. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Bright Velo Hotel and Cafe is at heart a cycling hotel. Bike riders from all over come and go. But if you're not a cyclist, fear not. This place is as comfy as it gets with freshly made beds, clean rooms and cosy atmosphere. With a fantastic Cafe attached and easy access to the town centre, the Bright Velo Hotel was a delight to stay at for the weekend. I was worried about arriving after their office hours, but they reassured me by giving detailed instructions on how to access our room. The room we stayed in was a two person room with antique furnishing. We were supplied with milk and tea/coffee supplies in the room with a kettle and a teapot, perfect for use on the shared balcony looking over to the main street of bright. The bathroom had good water pressure and water temperatures with a very hot to very cold range, face towels, fresh towels and a wall mounted hair dryer. The bed was one of the softest beds I have slept in. If you like having firmer mattresses this could be an issue, but if you love a really soft bed, you will love these ones. If you're after somewhere to stay for a short while or a longer stay, I can definitely recommend here.

My family and I came up for our sons wedding. What a fantastic place to stay will be coming back thanks.

The location was very good — central to everything. The owner was friendly. A cafe is right there. For riders, there's a room to store your bikes. Plenty of regular bike parking also. The apartment we stayed in had two separate bedrooms, and a living room, small but comfortable. Nothing fancy but clean and well supplied.

Love sitting in here and having a quiet coffee. There's just something about this place. Especially in winter.

Love this place, great coffee, atmosphere, bike friendly and interesting to visit. My food was spot on and we will be back.

Great coffee, but slow service.

Customer service isn't hard, so having to wait 15 minutes for a muffin to be brought out on a quiet morning is frustrating, to put it politely. While this establishment spruiks itself as the hub for all things cycling, the employee behind the counter didn't even know they were out of mtb trail maps until I asked to buy one and several minutes were spent searching in vain. We had high expectations of this place based on all the marketing hype but a few simple errors really spoiled the experience.

Fantastic spot to base yourself when looking to sports adventures in the area, be it cycling, running, walking or anything else. The proprietor is an ex — professional cyclist and the place is plastered with cycling memorabilia. The atmosphere is friendly, relaxed and the cafe is a great place just to hang out for awhile as you recuperate from the days adventures.
