We had the best lunch here! Everyone loved how big the parma menu was and had great GF options. The staff was so lovely and the service was fantastic! Would definitely reccomend!

A fabulous night at The Corner. Arrived late afternoon, shown to our light airy room. Went for a walk around the town and then back to The Corner for a delicious meal in the Bistro. Fabulous food, local wines and reasonable prices. After dinner sat on the upper verandah for an hour and watched the sun set over the nearby hills. Our room was small but clean and comfortable as was the bed & bedding, Crisp and White. Shared bathroom facilities wasn't an issue and fresh white towels and toiletries were provided. Breakfast consisted of Juices, Cereals, Toast, Spreads, Tea & Coffee. Staff were friendly & helpful. Highly recommended. We look forward to returning when we are next in the area.

Sunday lunch out the front. Easy check in process, order at the bar, friendly staff, meals came out in really reasonable time considering it was so busy. Great chips, 2 juicy Parma’s perfectly cooked calamari and delicious lamb shoulder. All wines by the glass from excellent producers in the local regions. Best pub in the town.

Had an amazing lunch there today. The service and food was outstanding and the atmosphere and decor was truly beautiful. I would highly recommend this Hotel, well worth a visit.

The Corner Hotel has a great menu — the Parma menu is vast.
The chips have had great reviews, with very good reason.

Service here outstanding and the meals very good. We had dinner for 11 of us and we all had our meals brought out together. Comfy dining chairs too.

Very good food, great atmosphere and super fast service but the highlight was a young lady named Rebecca who looked after our table with enthusiasm and professionalism. She literally made the dinner memorable. Thanks, Rebecca!

The parma was of a high quality. Great proportions and good ingredients. Must deduct a point for the fact that it says the Parma is ‘huge’ on the menu when in reality it’s a small Parma in anyone’s book. You can’t go around calling Parma’s huge when they are small. It’s just unaustralian.

Absolutely magnificent food and quality service. The parma's are exceptional the entreè's were well portioned and delicious. Truly 5 star dining.

The new owners have taken this place from an everyday pub (there are 4 in town) to the quaintest and somewhat quirky place to spend your time. I haven’t seen the renovations to the rooms but I’m told they are just beautiful and a lot of thought has gone into the layout, colour scheme and those special touches for guests. The bar part entry is right on the corner and you walk into a warm and inviting space that sets it apart from other pubs nearby. The menu is simple and extremely tasty with generous portion sizes along with speedy service. A great collection of wines to choose from as well as beers on tap or by the bottle. The cafe part which you can enter from the street or via the pub is very inviting and although I’ve only visited once, was completely taken by the very ‘Australian Country Style’ magazine feel to it. Nice decor that is generous in chair size and equally comfortable to sit on. Light, airy and extremely calming place to ‘hang out’. This along with simple whole food wth a touch of eclectic culinary treats, it’s a great place to meet up with friends or family as well as sit and enjoy the countryside. Toilets are spacious and clean. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Staff are attentive and lovely. A must visit when in Alexandra.

We recently stayed in Alex for a family event We could not have been made more welcome Quirky friendly and accomodating Would recommend highly.

Had my Birthday party on Saturday night 2/6/18. It was a private function held in the sectioned off rear of the dining room. It was awesome, from the planning through to the actual event, nothing was too much trouble. To Ti (the duty manager) the bar and kitchen staff, great work. The comments from my guests were all very positive and the food was top shelf. Thank you for making the night one to remember. I will certainly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a great place to hold a function.

Excellent food. Had the eggplant parma, surprised at the amount of quality vegetarian options. Chips were awesome Friendly staff, great country vibes.

Loud. Room was fine. Shared bathroom needs to be renovated. Watch out for noise on Saturday night. It's loud, as in you wont sleep till the pub closes loud (regardless of room). Not suitable for families! Luckily I had earplugs which made the night bearable. Clearly the bar/restaurant is their main focus on Sat, because when I arrived at 7pm, I was told they were too busy to deal with me and they went about serving drinks. Overall a budget type experience, and I would avoid staying on sat unless your planning on partying downstairs.

Meal average — ordered the sauce on the side & came out on the steak. Great service as was taken back & a new one brought out no fuss. Limited drinks. Ok atmosphere.

I can't understand how the Corner Hotel has a 4.1 star rating. The place was moderately full when we arrived and upon ordering we were told mains would take 35 minutes to arrive so we also ordered entrees because "they would come quickly". After 40 minutes, we asked where the entrees were and were told they would be there in 2-3 minutes. Several other tables around us had been waiting as long or even longer for their meals. It was about this time the wait staff disappeared so they could avoid the obvious anger of all the patrons. They obviously have no idea how to run a kitchen. Entrees finally arrived after an hour and ten minutes. The mains took another 35 minutes and were a complete disappointment. I can't believe anyone would vote these parmas as one of the best in Victoria. They were deep fried overcooked lumps of chicken topped with cheap ham and cheese. There are plenty of good reviews for the Corner Hotel and maybe we just got a bad night but we won't be going back to find out and I would recommend trying anywhere else for dinner in Alexandra.

Have always gone to The Commercial pub for years and loved their meals, especially loved the Parma’s.
We went there recently and found its name had changed and with different staff. Very polite & friendly staff.
But hoped they still had my favourite Sunrise Parma. Menu had changed so I still ordered a Parma. Waited nearly an hour for our meals, only to receive a burnt black Parma base and asked the waiter to please change it for a not burnt Parma. And guess what he returned with the same burnt one. And noticed the people at the next table received Parma’s burnt like mine.
I have never gone out and received a plate of burnt food. I was stunned. I could not believe that a great pub has gone and new takeover has turned it into a disappointment with food like that.
What has happened there!
Hope it turns around and gets it right again so it’s a good place to visit again.

Excellent friendly service and staff, delicious pumpkin salad, slightly dry flathead fillets with their awesome chips, stale dry mud cake dessert (price of dessert was refunded), fantastic coffee. Accommodation clean, fair condition considering the age but the noise of the squeaky floorboards, beds and distance to shared facilities was disappointing. Wouldn’t stay again.

Had a wonderful lunch today. Food was fantastic and service outstanding the staff are friendly. The best cooked steak ever and the parma was delicious. Will go again highly recommended.

Dated building, gives a very home like vibe in a small cluttered restaurant. Food is absolutely delicious! Pub meals but the chefs really take the effort to build it to a much higher level. I have never had a parma taste so good before, so fresh and full of flavor. If your in Alexandra, definitely check it out.

Simply Awesome! Fantastic service. Excellent staff. Didn't wait more than 20 minutes for our orders (8 meals plus entrees). Food was spectacular. If you are staying in the area or just driving through a must pla e to stop in.

Wonderful food and service in a great old pub. Staff very obliging particularly with special requests. Kids meals are real food (adult standard) not reconstituted offcuts and scraps from unknown animals that you usually get.

Had dinner calamari nice fresh-cut chips.

Cold beer. Excellent meals. This pub was a real surprise. It doesn't look like much from the outside on the street, but inside it's charming and we'll appointed and the staff went out if their way to make our lynch booking for 12 people something wonderful.

The Parmas are overrated and expensive, but the worst thing is they have a band on Saturday nights and they have rooms over the bar area and the rooms vibrate with the music. The band played until 12.30am. It is impossible to remain in the room, let alone try to sleep while they are playing. There is no mention of that when booking. Very disappointing. Book the other hotels instead.

This was my first visit to Alexandra and simply needed a room for the night. It's no 5 star hotel but that's about the only possible negative I have to say. Staff are really welcoming, the rooms are comfortable and what I would expect in this price range. The food at the bar, however, was exceptional. The drive to get here was enjoyable so I will return again.

Rooms are great for a quick stay but beware of creaking Floors. Lovely grand architecture and artwork I was looking forward for the Parma and the veggies but they were undercooked. Breakfast was a nice touch. 3.5

Great, fantastic country pub. 10stars for everything really looked after a group of thirsty cyclists with great food and cold beers. Very friendly and accomodating. If your looking for a place to stay. Stay here.

Great value, Fantastic food and service. Rooms are basic but fine. Old construction has very thin walls — you can hear EVERYTHING that happens in the adjacent rooms.

Great size meals for both kids and adults. Chicken Parma lived up to expectations. And there chips were the best we've had in a long time. Service was great, friendly staff. And even has a little play kids corner. Will be back and highly recommend.

Just came for dinner and some drinks. Big meals and they were great too. Reasonably priced and the location is fantastic. Pub needs some work done but we still had a great time.

Like many country pubs these days, the building shows signs of its age. (And it would cost anyone a mint to fix those old buildings up to their former glory). But we had a great time here — rooms were cumfy and most importantly, clean. Quiet night and good night's sleep. Staff were incredibly friendly and obliging. Meal in the restaurant downstairs was good. And you have to try those fries! Def recommend!
