Good value. Centrally located close to shops and transport. Friendly staff.

Great adequate hotel. Nothing fancy but clean, comfortable and cheap.

This is a budget hotel located very close to Moreland station and tram routes, with a laundry and a Japanese restaurant on-site; there's a range of other eating opportunities nearby. In an older-style building, the rooms (although smallish) have high ceilings, and everything is very clean. The staff are the real strength of the place; everyone is warm, welcoming and helpful. It can, however, be a bit noisy, with the trams so nearby and other mechanical noises at night. If you want lavish facilities you will need to look elsewhere (and pay more), but I always enjoy staying here and, but for the noise issues, I would give it five stars.

I stayed at the Dolma while my wife was having an operation in the John Fawkner hospital which is easy walking distance. I found it fantastic, the staff were amazing, they kept booking space open even over the busy Melbourne Grand prix weekend as I was not sure when I would be able to fly back to Tasmania. The room was nice, quiet, spacious and had a very nice bathroom, and very clean. The owner Alwin,, the booking staff, Mary Ellen, Sadat, and the lady who does the rooms Lorraine, were all so nice and helpful. There is great secure off road parking and I will always try and stay there when in Melbourne. Well done, and thanks for making my stay so easy in what was a very difficult time for us. Fined for smoking in the room 375dollars won't go back ridiculous to make me pay. That Fine I will never go back to DolmaHotel.

It was clean and comfortable and not that far from the Airport when you come in on a late flight at nght. Good value price wise.

I was after a cheap room, and it was provided. I was also allowed to check in early, which was very useful. If you're driving, be aware that the way to the carpark is very narrow. They lock it up at night.

Normal Hotel, there is a refrigerator, microwave, iron, kettle, hair dryer-everything you need, but the area is terrible. Two nights yelling at some stoned. A lot of restaurants in Arabic, Indian cuisine. Actually, it looks like an Arab neighborhood. Near the Japanese restaurant. There are 19 trams to the city.

Pretty run down place. Is in a really good location for night life and transport. If you are just looking for somewhere to sleep then it's fine. Has secure parking. Wi-Fi was Terrible so don't count on it.

I felt that most of the clientele are long stay people down on their luck or international travelers. I has my children with me and did not feel safe at all. Was approached by more than a few people under the influence of illicit substances. The bathroom was clean as were the sheets. However I was reluctant to let the children touch the carpets and walls as they weren't very clean. A huge crack on the wall was covered with masking tape. The staff however were lovely. A bit overpriced for the state of the accommodation. Probably won't visit again unless traveling without the kid's and desperate for accommodation. Definitely would not stay alone.

A bit dated but comfortable and affordable. Highly recommend, it's close to tram and train station plus countless places to eat.

It was like a strange 4s rabbit Warren hotel, not modern in the slightest. I also had a great view of a concrete wall. Having said that tho, I was really comfortable, the place was clean, and I'd happily stay there again.

Affordable, convenient & clean I didn't expect a lot from this hotel. For their asking price, which is rather affordable for Melbourne, plus free Wi-Fi and carpark, someone would be foolish to expect a 'grandiose, executive style accommodation. As the old cliche goes: 'you get what you paid for'. We're only pleased to get a last minute booking, close to the city being a long-weekend Melbourne Cup. Our room isn't ultra-chic but spacious; the bed is comfortable and the bedsheets and towels are fresh and clean. The toilet and bathroom is modern, tidy and hugely spacious. Tip: if you ring them direct, Alvin will give you 5% discount. Public transportations: trams, the bus is on the doorsteps and the train station is within few meters steps. There are plenty of car spaces at the back of the hotel but the only thing is entry & exit is only one-way and can be tricky when passing through the gate. As we're not fuzzy people and more realistic with our budget-range, I would definitely stay again. Dolma Hotel deserves a thumbs-up.

Our stay has been great so far, the room is tidy and it has been reasonably quiet.

The location of Dolma Hotel is great for either CBD outings or in our case, a Fawkner visit. There are trams outside the door on Moreland Rd, or just a very short walk to Sydeny Rd, where the trams run in North/South Direction. The staff, upon check in, were courteous and thorough. It took only moments to check in and obtain the keys. The hotel, on the other hand, was a bit of a disappointment. Upon entering the door from the carpark, were we confronted by a rather unpleasant smell, the origin was undetermined. The building is old, there is no denying that fact. The floors squeaked, the walls were rough, the elevator doors were less than pristine. But nothing prepared us for what was waiting in the room. We had a family size room; double bed and 2 x singles. There eax a walk in closet and bathroom with shower, vanity and toilet. The vanity and toilet were new. The shower was a disgrace, with mould and mildew in the grout, silicon sealant and on the glass screen. Gross to say the least. Freshly painted it appeared, but a novice job, with no clean lines or finishes. The beds were reasonably comfortable, and warm. There were spare blankets if needed. Split system aircon fo the room. When we turned it on, it was noticed thatvthe flap was rather dirty, but when we opened the filter cover, we were nearly sick. The filter was choked with dust, to the point that it was falling off when were removed them to wash them.

The worst service reception staff is shitfuck! Dont even bother calling.

It's okay to spend a night without too much demand… The rooms are a bit old, clean but nothing exceptional…, 15 km from the airport… anyway I would go back.

Ciggy burn in the sheets, wine stain on the pillow, nothing has been dusted is months! Found other peeps food on the floor too.

Close proximity to trains, trams and the motorway, ideal location and a decent living space make Dolma Hotel an excellent place to stay.

Nothing fancy, but a good value for what you're paying for. The room had everything I need (kettle, hair dryer, free Wi-Fi…) What's cool is having a parking spot for the car. What's not so good is that paint and furniture were old and not very well taken care of. Rooms are noisy. Wifi didn't work all the time.

Location of the hotel is really convenient. 20 minutes north of the cbd using tram. The room is cheap and considering what we paid for, it offers good value.

Would have been better if they let my daughter use her MASTERCARD-debit card instead of having to go get $100 cash, esp when she checked out they did not give it back to her coz she forgot and then when she realised a Cpl hours later they said to late to get it back and they put it into their coffers. They had her mobile number… no excuses. Very poor… any wonder they making money when they take advantage of people who are unable to fend for themselves.

Great value for a 3 star hotel. Good location. 2 minutes from tram. 3 minutes from train. Abundant food outlets nearby including halal outlets along sydney rd. 15 minutes to the city by tram, 10 minutes by train. Good service by hotel staff, very helpful. Tram/train tickets easily available from hotel reception. Laundry service also available in house. Room was good. Daily housekeeping was great. We stayed for 5 nights with our 2 kids in august 2012. No complaint whatsoever. Room heating was good. Surely will come back. Recommended for budget travellers with families.

I stayed in the dolma hotel for 4 nights and the experience was awesome. The staff are really very friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. They really do that extra mile to give excellent customer service. Though it is a 3 star hotel, the service felt like I was in a 5 star establishment. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who want to have a great time at affordable prices.
