Very disappointed by Travelodge Southbank. The room was clean but so drab and tired. Expected much more for $359 per night. Positive is the location is close to Southbank but it was not a high standard. The roon was stuffy and the airconditioner sounded like a clohes dryer with a buckle rolling around in it. I' d rate it with less than two stars out of 5.

We have stayed here before and used the car park under the Langham. In our reservation confirmation email from hotel or on check in we were not advised that the parking was at another Wilson car park. Your inroom information card stipulates parking under the Langham Hotel. We parked our car under the Langham after checking in then went out, on return 3 hours later we were advised that we were parked in the wrong car park. It cost us $70 to move our car to the "right one". So in all we will spend $100 on parking, if we wanted to spend that much extra on our 2 nights away we would have stayed somewhere else. Not happy and after this stay won't be returning. Spoke to duty manager this morning who has refunded the $70 and waived our $30 car park fee — thanks.

Highly recommended hotel in Melbourne. The staff was attentive and professional. Dinner advice and directions were gladly given and very informative. The room was clean, quiet and warm, the bed was comfortable and the location unbeatable for early access to the Sky Express Coach from Southern Cross to the airport. Missed out on Hotel breakfast because we had to leave before the kitchen opened but had bought rolls, fruit and Yoghurt at the Southern Cross Supermarket the night before so didn't suffer for that. Will definitely be staying there again when early access to the airport or late arrival forces us to stop in Melbourne.

Stayed for work this week —
Once again, an easy stay and in close proximity to lots of great restaurants. Can I suggest that you advise those staying with you that your car parking arrangements have now changed. It wasn’t until I checked in and I made comment about car parking; when the hotel employee advised that the parking arrangements are no longer under the Langham, and instead next door. I’d suggest advising, as it was a pain having to move my vehicle, after I had checked in. Cheers!

Perfect location. Right in the centre of Docklands. Close to a major train station. Perfect place to stay for events. Walking distance to retail shops. Clean rooms that were exactly what you want. Showers were awesome. Will definitely stay here again.

My son and his father regularly book at Travelodge Hotel Melbourne Docklands when they attend the football together and it never disappoints. They have always been made feel more than welcome and have often been rewarded for their loyalty as returning guests. Travelodge will go above and beyond to make their guests feel special and this is why we always return. The add campaigns for Travelodge that you see on TV are absolutely correct it’s what you can expect and more. I would not hesitate to recommend booking with this Hotel. Thank you for the 10/10 service Travelodge, it’s so very much appreciated.

I was in Melbourne for a conference and the Travelodge was a perfect walking distance away. The rooms were clean and bigger than expected. I had a burger and fries from room service which took 45 mins to arrive and when it finally did, the food was lukewarm at best. I also went for the buffet breakfast which was your typical hotel buffet breakfast. Check-in was an easy process with the staff holding our luggage while we wandered Melbourne after we checked out. I was really happy with hotel but next time I would probably go elsewhere for food.

Was on 8th floor and had a peaceful nights sleep. Room had a microwave, crockery and cutlery in addition to glasses and mugs so that was nice. Reception staff were all very friendly. Easily accessible if you're coming in from Southern Cross Station.

Honestly this hotel has the BEST customer service. We stay at numerous hotels for my husband's work and few match their level of service. Well done to Travelodge on maintaining such an excellent standard.

I came here a few times because of one of my good friends was here for works. The location is fantastic, within the free tram zone. The hotel has everything you expected to have. However my friend did point out that the TV in the room cannot be projected or hooked up with your laptop or hard drive. Which is understandably annoying since everything else seemed new/updated to me. The room came with a microwave as well, convenient to some. And apparently the menus for the room services quite good. Recommend the pizzas that my friend had tried. Fair price too, not pricy at all.

The hotel location is very close with Southern Cross Station, that need less than 5 minute walk to reach from the hotel. Due to it's closeness with the station, it's very easy to find food there. Even groceries such as Woolworths or convenience store such as 7/11 or ezmart located in the station complex. We stayed at level 10 of the building, so the sound of the train is not noisy :). The room itself is not big, but fit enough for my family with 1 kid, 3 years old. Oh and one last thing, the receptionist and the manager was very helpful.

The room was poorly soundproof and smoke alarms were starting to scare! When check-in, the counter staff gave us a connecting room, as the name suggests, there is a door in the room to connect with the room next door, the shortcomings of connecting rooms in addition to security concerns, that is very bad noise, we stay in the night of 12 points more connected room next to a bunch of people noisy can't sleep, Later invited the hotel staff to persuade also did not improve, so we asked to change rooms, the hotel immediately changed a quiet room for a non-connected room to us, tossing a long time can not sleep the most frightening is the next day to stay up early in the bath, suddenly the hotel counter to knock on the door of our room to say that the smoke alarm sense to the anomaly, So the fire department will come and check it out! And then he started asking if we were smoking? Using the microwave? We have no answer, just in the bath, he also asked to open the bathroom door to check, when I was naked in the shower, so was opened the door to check, and then the fire brigade also came, the bathroom was opened to check once, the results can not find the results left! Just say it may be the steam of the bath to start the smoke alarm, but this experience really once is enough! I'm totally afraid to book this hotel again! Because it's just a shower. It's horrible! Leave a lot of people in the heart of the shadow!

The bed was the nicest thing about the whole place, it was lovely and comfy with clean linen, however the floor was not vacuumed or in the bathroom, there were long black hairs on the floor in the bathroom and they were not mine! Gross! The shower was terrible, it was not cleaned properly as there was a build up of black mould around the base, very noticeable and I don’t know how the cleaners get away with that, was soap scum around the lower half of the glass, the window looking out the main lounge area was filthy, white spots and grubby marks on it, clearly was not cleaned before we arrived, hubbys key card wouldn’t work to open the door, vanity was not cleaned either with an empty box of tissues left for us, how nice! Sad, old tired looking place, would not recommend to anyone, won’t be back, I’m not paying to shower in mould!

Very comfortable hotel. I stayed here for two days when I had a meeting in Melbourne in 2016. The room was spacious, comfortable and it was fully equipped. The staffs were friendly and helpful. In fact, on my last day, I had to check out very early. They allowed me to have early breakfast before the checkout.

Great location in the heart of the Docklands. The room was very clean and modern; but there is improvement required for the overall experience. A lack of staff seems to be the cause of adverse experiences including check-in and dining. The dining room for breakfast did not have clear tables, no milk in coffee machine, and no plates for the buffet. With only two staff servicing the dining room, it was an impossible task for the attendees who were doing their best. Some small improvements would see the motel lift in the overall customer experience.

It's a decent travelodge, with very good location to the convention center. Any closer you'll be paying triple. Basic amenities. The best part is the staff and service. The reservation expert Jasmine went above and beyond in sorting out my double booking predicament. She didn't need to, but was very helpful anyway and convinced the third party site I booked with to do a refund. Will definitely stay here again for all future convention trips. The docklands is quiet at night and weekends which is great for sleep. Plenty of restaurants and cafes and walking distance to Southern Cross Station with its restaurants and supermarket.

My friend and I stayed here and were very happy with our choice! Great staff, great location, great room. The beds were very comfortable and the food was fantastic! Parking was very convenient. We booked for a twin, but were given a King — as soon as we explained this to reception they swapped us immediately and apologised for the error. We needed some last minute printing as well which we were originally told it wasn't normally something they would do, but when we got down there the receptionist was more than helpful. Will definitely be staying here again!

Beds were hard, service mediocre. Except the staff at restaurant were excellent. Put in a complaint about someone banging on my door at 2am, their response. "Oh". Will be looking elsewhere in future.

Fine if you don't mind the heat, I suppose. Rather than proper air conditioning, it just appears to have some sort of fan system. No matter how low, it doesn't get rid of heat. This, on a room several stories up with no windows that can be opened doesn't make for a good mix. Bad enough in winter, certainly wouldn't stay there in summer. Otherwise, decent price, check out time and proximity to Southern Cross Station.

A great location and reasonably priced secure car parking close by. However, upon checking in I was told I would have to wait for my husband to arrive in person to check in! We had booked two rooms. My husband had listed one room under my daughter's name so she could check in but as I wasn't listed I couldn't! An attempt was made to ring my husband to validate my check in but due to work commitments he couldn't be reached. This may be hotel policy but we travel a lot and have not been asked for photo ID before and the person who booked to be there in person. The people are reception weren't exactly helpful or apologetic, they were rather matter of fact. A warning! If you stay at this hotel ensure you list all names in the booking! Funnily enough they could accept my credit card for my daughter's check in and this was the credit card with which the accommodation had been prepaid! When my husband later rang to confirm I could book in he wasn't asked to identify himself with photo ID! He could have been anyone! The hotel otherwise was good but the reception area let it down on this occasion. We may think twice about staying here again.

Everything was really nice, but the bathroom was a bit dismal. Bathrooms need a really good clean before I would come back. But the room itself was really nice, spacious and well kept.

Good Accommodation a reasonable prices within walking distance to Melbourne CBD. Rooms are not Huge but more than adequate if staying a for a couple of days on Business.

The hotel was fine. Nothing special and nothing scary. Breakfast was good. Coffee was nice. Room was clean and staff helpful.

I was impressed with this hotel! The room was modern, spacious and squeaky clean. It had all the necessities and it was perfect for us. We only stayed for one night but would have loved to stay longer! Breakfast was AMAZING, food was delicious and unfortunately we ran out of some particular stuff pretty soon. The dining area was beautiful and the service was quick and very friendly. The only two things that we weren't very impressed with — the Aircon in our room wasn't heating properly, we contacted the service desk and were told that house keeping will come up and have a look. That took a long while, but when the lady arrived she was very friendly and helpful. She offered us a portable heater, and again it took a while to get to us. The other thing was the water pressure in the shower, it just wasn't great : (Would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family and we will definitely consider staying there again next time we visit Melbourne!

Mattress in one of the single beds very in even, slept better knee I wedged a pillow under it. Shower temperature is sporadic but not extreme. Room service was great. Lived the wedges. Rooms were quiet and clean. Nice having the cutlery plates and microwave.

The Travelodge was in a great location for my needs. Service from staff was friendly, quick, and efficient. The room was a decen size with plenty of space to move around and a desk for being able to get some work done. There is no stocked mini bar in the room, but item are available at reception. I had issues with the air conditioner, and I ended up having to turn this off for the night due to the amount of noise it made. TV was small for a room of this size, and free to air channels only. No sleep function accessible on the remote. I really miss this when hotels don't have it available.

The room we had was nice. Plenty of space in both the main room and bathroom. Bed was comfortable although the choice of pillows was either a very think and firm decorative pillow or a thin crunchy feeling pillow. View was just looking out into traller buildings which wasn't great. One elevator was broken so it took a while getting up and down. Staff at the reception desk were helpful and friendly. Overall a nice stay though.

Very nice location! Best value in it's range. Stayed there multiple times, easy access to food, drinks and sights. If you fancy a walk, it's not too far from the casino or outlet. Great value stay. (the room itself is a little tired, but still comfortable and clean).

Room was clean and good service. Staff were helpful. No unlimited Wi-Fi and only offer free 100MB. Parking is $12 flat rate for single entry. Parking is locating at offsite approx. 5 mins walk from the hotel. Location is great as it is close to crown casino and CBD. Public transport is easily assessable. Laundry is charge at $3 per wash/dry. We had a good night sleep as we couldn't hear any voice from the street. A big plus for offer baby cot free of charge during our stay.

Great location close to restaurant's, mcg and the casino and only a short walk to the shops and dfo. Wonderful, helpful staff who accommodated for our needs with a really early check in. Room was sufficient and comfy!

Stayed here on GP weekend. Price went up, but it was central to our needs. All good. The bed seemed to be long and narrow. Also we found the A/C a bit tricky, but that could have been me. No real complaints, did what we wanted, and it is in a very good location.

Stay was good, room was clean, most staff were helpful. Only problem happened on last day. Returned to travelodge southbank a few hours after check out because we left a big plastic luggage cover in the closet. The staff member went to check the room and when he returned he just told us nothing was in the room and walked away. Had to chase after him and ask if he checked the closet as it was left there or whether the cleaner may have left it somewhere. He shrugged his shoulders and said he wouldn't know and walked off.

Overnight parking flat rate of $12 isn't applicable if you want to use your car between arrival and departure. It's $12 each time you park which is contrary to their website. Location is fantastic and very close to food and public transport, room was exactly as expected, and service was reasonable.

Ideally located. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean. Kitchenette is available for long stays. Anything lacking was a bath tub where you could soak in after a long days walk.

Not 100% sure why this has a 4 star rating; rooms are nothing special, breakfast for $15 is nothing fantastic. Customer service isn't too bad, and 24/7 reception is convenient but website is deceiving regarding Wi-Fi (100mb for 24 hours free or 24hrs unlimited for $9.95 is a bit over priced) Bathroom could do with an upgrade the floor appeared damaged and dirty and carpet in room was stained.

Very modern hotel located in the area of Southbank in Melbourne, new trendy district with shops, restaurants, clubs. Very close to the City Centre (CBD) and the tram stop for the beaches of St. Kilda. Clean, modern, equipped with all comforts (including microwaves). Agreement with a nearby paid parking: $ 12 per day.

I've stayed at the Travelodge Southbank 2 times now and this will be the third time coming up soon. The location is great, accessible to everything. I had a "terrible time" on my last trip to Melbourne when I stayed there and all I wanted to do was to go back home! In the end it was all sorted out, but I have to be quite honest here I never want to go through that again. Although a few of the staff there were a "little" unfriendly, I was in tears! I was very upset" and upon attempting to check in had to get the person there to literally call my travel agent to sort this all out! Should never have happened. But overall at least its a safe place to stay. I would never stay in a backpackers or at a hostel. Guess I'm going to have to be more cautious in future.

Very nice, close to cafés and food court for breakfast; easy stroll to city centre, Flinders Street Station, art gallery, parks, Federation Square, Yarra waterfront and free city circle tram. Good value for $ in brilliant location. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed here November 2012 and found the room to be clean and we managed to have a decent view. Awesome being right next to the Eureka tower. It was central to everything we wanted to see and after having been in a wheelchair for a long time it was wonderful to walk around Melbourne. It was our first visit and I want to go back again and again. Apart from a nasty piece of work who checked us in, we liked staying here. We chose to have our meals in our room delivered from the local restaurants and we bought our own cereal too from the local shops. All in all a fantastic holiday and we will stay there again.

Good value for money is what you get in this hotel right in the heart of the city. The CBD is just a 5 minute walk away as the hotel is located at Southbank of the Yarra River. The rooms are very tidy, the beds are absolutely comfortable and the service is good to. The only negative aspect is the breakfast room. It is freezing cold in winter so bring your jacket and scarf, when you're having breakkie. You'll have to pay 19 AUD for breakfast but there's a discount available when you ask for it at the reception.

This would be the poorest value for money accommodation experience ever. The room was hideously expensive, there was no plug in the bathroom, poor quality towels, no view, no wine glasses, but by far the biggest problem was the noisy air conditioning which hummed all night and could not be turned off. We told them about it and eventually at about 9pm they offered us another room, but they should have made the offer at 10am when we first alerted them. We have stayed in noisy rooms before, but have not had to pay A$260 per night for the privilege. Not good enough, sadly.

I found the 3 times I have stayed at the Travelodge, the staff were friendly and courteous. The rooms were clean and standard to most Travelodge hotels around Australia. The breakfast bar was a little to be desired with mass produced boiled bacon, tinned tomatoes and packaged eggs. I had brought my own Wi-Fi so accessing the internet was not a problem. Check-in and out were hassle free. The location is SUPURB, 10 mins walking distance to the city, 5 mins to the casino, waterfront cafes and restaurants with some of the worlds best menus. All in all for it's budget price a thumbs up.
