Had a room located on level one. Did use a groupon and I will heavily suggest it as it saves you money and includes breakfast! Check in was easy as was check out. The facilities are shared with Pullman so nice and fancy. The pool looked a bit weathered even though it was indoor, however that was just from external appearance.

Mediocre, absolutely far from the level of a Mercure Hotel you see in Europe: the rooms are spacious but old, ugly bathroom, really not up to par. Let's add that the room had views on a parking lot and that you eat dinner with 20 euros but ask for 38 for breakfast.

Paid parking, another 20 euros. Let's say it's to be avoided unless you can do without it.

Very nice place to stay. I am a regular here. Very clean with very friendly staff. Amenities are all there and in good repair. I would recommend to anyone.

We had a very long stay at this hotel got our stay extended multiple times. And staff has kindly obliged. Initially they upgraded us to a loft suite which was very nice of them and there other standard king suite is also good. The concierge staff was very understanding since we had A Lot of luggage with us. The swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna are not usually crowded… So atleast I worked on my hydrophobia there. ;)

Perfectly located with great views of the lake and the bay. Restaurant serves a great breakfast and the staff throughout the hotel cannot be faulted. Friendly, helpful and respectful, they are all wonderful. However, most of the time the rooms are fab, but I think they are getting a little tired. My room had very stained carpet whi h looked like a bottle of coca cola had been sprayed everywhere, and the shower drain kept backing up whilst I showered… gross! But I did get my room with a view.

Lovely hotel, lovely helpful staff but not really IN Melbourne more St Kilda so not really good if only there a short time.

Room is ok. Got it under a promotion. Quite cheap actually BUT they asked me for a $50 deposit, staff said that it should be in my account within the next 3 business days. 2 weeks later, still have not receive it back after calling their reception 2x and each time they promise that it should be receive on the same day or the next. Hopefully, something should be done with this!

Poor internet, shower head leaked all night, hair dryer not working properly. Bed comfy (wife approves), staff were great. Time for a refurb.

Extremely bad service provided, I opted for late check-out and assured that my door was locked for the whole night before I sleep. In the morning, I was terrified when the housekeeper unauthorisedly opened my door. They told me that they have knocked on my door before that, but since I was sleeping I could not hear anyone knocking, and therefore they opened my door without my permission. Moreover, the staff at the restaurant for the breakfast that I pre-booked was also extremely unprofessional, they told me that I did not have the breakfast voucher and therefore ask me whether I would like to purchase the breakfast, I pre-purchased everything but was told that I might have to pay again, this is the worst hotel I've been in my entire life and if I could rate this hotel as 0 star I would definitely do so.

I escaped here for a night off from my messy Southbank apartment. I simply couldn't be bothered cleaning and wanted a tidy room. First the booking couldn't be found — they blamed a third party booking app. I had to phone the 3rd party app myself and find out what was wrong. App staff told me they would call reception themselves. They did. They said go to reception the hotel staff are now across it. Hotel staff were not across it. They said it could take a few hours for the booking to show up in their system. Meantime — I'm tired? EVENTUALLY I suggested a solution: I will give you a credit card, give me my room. In the morning, you check if it's 'come through' to your system or not. If it has, great, if not, you charge my card. The bed was unable to be slept on by a couple. It was 2 single beds pushed together. A lot of hotels do this, but in THIS hotel, they just fell apart. We couldn't even lie side by side. Overall it was utter rubbish. In the morning we let the management know. I received what seemed like a genuine apology, and offered a free night. I declined as I would not stay there again. It was the worst nights sleep I've had in years. I was told our 3rd party booking app did indeed come through. And they would NOT be taking a charge from my card. Well imagine my surprise when I see a charge on my credit card for the room from not only the 3rd party app but the hotel itself. So I called and respectfully explained the situation.

Quite disappointed as this is not a cheap hotel and yet the room is so old and outdated. There is mold in the bathroom, the toilet roll holder is not stable and any slight movement will trigger it to fall. The room is so old looking its quite depressing. The bed quality is also quite poor. The Wi-Fi use is unnecessarily extremely strict = as soon as you check out you get booted off — this I find this unfair as we have paid quite a fair bit to be at the hotel so we should be allowed to use the Wi-Fi until we leave the premises (its not our choice that you have a check out time even if our flight times are much later and don't align — we were here for a giant work conference with over 500 guests…). The food quality is quite sad (we were there for a 4 day conference) and lets just say you need to up your variety and quality — this was extremely embarrassing to be feeding our interstate and international guests this 'food'. Hot water and coffee — there is something wrong with your urns as they do not stay hot for long. The coffee from the cafe — terrible, I am so disappointed as this is Melbourne and we paid a lot more than franchise coffee! why is there giant clumped up bits of chocolate at the end of my mocha? it tastes terrible! Also the paint update during the entire stay was extremely toxic smelling. The staff also have really bad body odour!

The rooms are quite clean and modern. It has a nice view of the park opposite. The restaurant despite small does offer some a nice variety of choices.

Great staff. Valet parking $35 is worth it. Room was very comfortable.

Comfortable overnight stay. Only complaint — long life milk in room curdled in coffee. Rang for fresh milk? Waiting waiting and eventually went downstairs to get it myself from the cafe.

Take away coffee $6! Hotel clean. Good location. Rooms are simple and plesent. Food average and expensive.

Seems like they might be going through a facelift. Lobby facade is nice but the room we stayed in was dated, particularly in the bathroom. Fine for a last minute booking. 15 min tram ride to the city and 15 min walk to chapel st so location is pretty good.

Fantastic place to stay. Valour parking. Tram stop 30 meters away. 10 minutes via tram to the city centre. Great room. Very comfortable bed & pillows. Awesome restaurant for breakfast & dinner. Amazing staff. Definitely a great place to stay.

This hotel looks a lot better from outside. There's heaps of things that could be better. I'll start with negatives. Parking was $20 which in my opinion was a little too expensive but OK. Our room was big which was good however bed sheets hadn't been cleaned for a long time apparently (see photos). Mattress was the absolutely cheapest quality. I had sciatica and it was on the mend but this mattress sent me back to the square one. Fridge was full of emptiness and there was not even a single bottle of water. Considering we arrived after midnight this was really annoying. Glasses and cups were super dirty and never been washed for a long time (see photos). There was no toothpaste in the bathroom and when I called the reception to ask for one, the receptionist was a rude to me. He didn't even apologize and wanted me to go down to the reception to get one. We were two and yet they gave me one toothbrush! General maintenance could be better and with the current situation the rooms look a lot more like a 3.5 star hotel not 4 star which they claim to be. Now positives; it is very close to CBD and then plenty of options for shopping and food. Parking was huge so no need to worry about parking your car somewhere else. All in not not bad for a day or two, but if you dig up a bit more you'll definitely find better options with the same price.

The rooms, fitness center, showers and bathrooms are not very well maintained. There are stains, oxidation and cracks all over the place. Breakfast is good, as well as the bar and cafe areas.

We stayed over the marathon weekend. The hotel allowed a late checkout until 2pm. Just what I needed to get back and shower after the run. The room is a bit dated but we got a free drink on arrival and the late checkout made it an nice experience. The hotel is also very accessible to trams, Chapel Street and the city.

Check in was a breeze, having used the on-line check — in facility. Our room was in a great location, self parking was convenient and we enjoyed a very tasty meal in the restaurant. We had a very early departure next morning and the check-out process was very efficient. We have stayed at this hotel previously and will continue to stay here for future trips to Melbourne, as it is a very convenient location for accessing the south of the city.

Room is great and restaurant serving good food. F&B staffs were very busy especially in the morning peak hour, they have done a good job. Swimming pool — we like it especially the water temperature is just nice, most hotel pool are cold but your are right. I read reviews in internet, they said hotel has passes its prime, in my opinion it is a nice hotel. Keep up the good work.

A brief stay. The room was comfy. It was quiet. The online check in made it fast to come in and drop bags to get to function. Overall positive experience.

The room was clean, reasonably quiet and quite spacious. The bed was comfortable and clean. The room service left a lot to be desired — both the main meal and dessert trays were left on the floor for the whole stay. The room was cleaned, however, the trays were not taken away. I found that to be rather strange. I think you need to upgrade the cabinets in the room as all are falling apart. take a look at the door on the fridge section of room 2324 and the bedside tables. Not exactly a good look for interstate and international guests. The lift smells of cigarette smoke or smoke in general for some reason. Perhaps it is the old carpet that may need replacing. I needed to phone Room Service 3 times tom place a dessert order. I believe that 1 and 1/2 hours to wait for icecream is a bit over the top. All in all the stay was comfortable and adequate for what we required, however, I would not be recommending a stay at the Hotel, to any of my associates unless I was sure that they would not be experiencing the same conditions. Perhaps the extra few dollars and a room at the Pullman may have produced better feedback.

I stayed for 3 nights with my 5-year old son, to celebrate our reunion after his return from overseas, my 40th birthday, and fathers day. The hotel staff were wonderfully friendly and accommodating, the food at the restaurant was superb, the accommodation itself was good. The only downfall of the experience was my deposit being held on by the hotel for longer than advised.

We had a conference for 180+ people — the rooms were old and outdated, poorly lit and freezing cold. The water in the jugs on tables tasted metallic like it had been there for weeks. The food breaks were essentially held in a corridor with insufficient seating and space for people to filter around. The food however for the conference and at breakfast was good. A hair dryer in the hotel room would have been good (particularly given Melbourne weather in winter). The lights in the room were dull and need replacing.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay. Room was a good size and clean. Carpet possibly a little worse for wear but still not too bad. The staff were friendly and great to deal with. Breakfast was great and once again the staff were more than willing to assist with whatever we needed.

I found the staff most helpful, except that it was hard to navigate around the hotel at first. I got lost a couple of times. The food at the conference I attended was very good. I have allergies, and there was always clear understanding by the staff, and plenty of choices for me. The bed was comfortable, and the room was fine, with good heating, but the bathroom was worn and needed upgrading. Some tiles were cracked, and the corners therefore looked grubby. It is not helpful to have to stand in the bath to shower. This is unusual in a large hotel. The toilet was also very difficult to flush. I have arthritis, so found it quite awkward. Otherwise I was pleased with the accommodation.

Staff were so accommodating and genuinely interested in making the experience a good one. It started from the moment we pulled into the drive way. A lovely staff member directed us to the correct area and took all our bags in to the reception. Once checked in the staff took all our bags up to the room and on departure they hailed a taxi and placed our luggage in it. Staff all too happy to please and respond courteously and professionally. Will definitely recommend and consider again. Facilities were lovely in the hotel.
