It used to be very nice. It smells and everything needs cleaning. Sad it’s gone down hill. Some walls and even the roof is rotting and maybe that’s where the smell of the place is coming from? Food 1 out of 10. Please fix it x.

Good atmosphere, great service, friendly staff, meals were great & came out quickly. I had fish, chips and salad & my bestie had the gnocchi, from lunch menu. Prices were good and meal sizes were perfect. Will definitely be back 🙂

We had a small family 50th birthday celebration for my wife, we had about 30 guests and I didn’t hear one person complain about the facilities the service or the food. Speaking for me and my family we throughly enjoyed the food and polite service and will definitely be recommending the National Hotel Complex to our friends thanks Keith ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Stopped in for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised at the high quality of the food served. extremely fast and polite service the meals were super tasty and I would go as far to say one of the best Lamb salads I've eaten. The entrees were very generous sizes as were the kids meals. would recommend the meals and we will be back.

Friendly staff, good atmosphere.

The worst steak I've had to date. 45 dollars for a scotch fillet, not only did they lose multiple orders, but the steak came out literally burnt, all I could taste was charcoal. would not return if you paid me.

We had a very good experience there. Food was great and having a medical experience with hubby, they were able to get us help from a wonderful person who was dining there.

Thank you National hotel for a great celebration today meals were fantastic shout out to everyone for a well layed back event staff were professional and friendly on a very busy Mother’s Day weekend also to function manager from prompt responses for my booking enquires and communication in letting me bring my own cake great establishment for a private function much enjoyable day.

UPDATE: Went for their burger night, and the only update I have is they keep getting better! Got takeaway for dinner tonight. The service was excellent, said the food will be ready in 10 which we got in less, extremely good service, and the food was delicious! Pizza was better than some pizzerias. Can’t wait to go back again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have been here for food a few times and it has always been great. It is one of the best places to get food in Bendigo! Definitely recommended.

Low cost but high-end accommodation, first class service and meals with something for every taste.

Just got here and so not impressed. I’m supposed to be staying with my family in a place that has a pool. Yes I’m not about to run across the road in my bathers with a towel wrapped around me! We didn’t book to stay across the road in a dated old flat. There is nothing on my booking to say this so it’s very misleading and pretty sure putting the wrong address for where I’m staying versus where your reception is, is highly illegal. I tell your gent on reception about my issues finding the place to then be asked ‘have you stayed here before’ — seriously don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure that one out.

Never any complaints about the National. Staff are courteous, efficient and friendly. Thanks for the great food!

Always get great food and service here. It’s my go to place for years now and I’ve never been let down.

Food was good but they completely stuffed up our booking, and blamed it on us. Staff were so rude. Do not recommend.

At first the place looked great, clean and tidy but it was all down hill from there. The 3 bedroom apartment we stayed in was filthy, empty pizza boxes and mentos wrappers from the last people, glasses covered in sticky residue and finger prints, plates wet in the cupboard and not clean. The table was covered in crumbs from whatever was last eaten there, all remotes had no batteries in them, floor hadn't been vacuumed. Explained all this to the manager who said house keeping had gone over it, I can sympathize with him because when you employe someone to do a job you expect it done properly. We got offered a much nicer and clean 2 bedroom apartment as compensation. I was with my partner and our 3 children, unfortunately all the kids had to sleep in the one room but it was a much better option than what we were in.

Based on the accommodation: great location, decently sized rooms and absolutely lovely staff. :) Only reason I have given it 4 stars, is because there are no sound proof walls. There are two levels of Units, we stayed on the floor level and constantly heard doors sliding open, water running and even conversations at some points when we were trying to sleep. Not sure if we are the only ones who see an issue with this, but yeah, was just a bit too noisy for us. Overall, it is good for those wanting to explore Bendigo at waking distance and having a pub pretty much right at your doorstep is a bonus! :)

Walked in at about 4pm for an early dinner. Food and service was amazing.

My daughter's allergy requirements were handled well with variation of an existing dish.

Had lunch there. Ordered calamari for entree l was disappointed. I had steak for main very nice cooked med rare to profection my partner had the brisket that was also great. Place was clean staff professional.

The pub and bistro were terrific — food was tasty bistro style food and reasonably priced. The bar staff were fantastic and very friendly! The motel on the other hand was a different story. The reception greeting was very cool and we seemed to be putting them out. We weren't asked if we had stayed before and were we familiar with the complex or told where The room was and where we could park (we arrived when it was pitch black). We asked for a late checkout and were told that this was not possible (motel didn't need seem busy at all) The room was clean and comfortable. On the morning of checkout — a staff member unlocked our door (didn't even knock first! ) just after 8am! When I asked why, she said that she believed that we were leaving early and that their "system" showed that we had gone! Makes me worry about their booking system if that was the case. Wish I could rate the two areas separately as they were worlds apart. Will happily go back to the pub/ bistro, but won't be in a hurry to stay there again.

As usual, the National Hotel is one of the best places in Bendigo to eat. The staff are excellent, the food is always terrific and the place is always spotless. A very enjoyable lunch. Thanks Guys.

I thoroughly recommend the National Hotel Complex, I booked this hotel very late Thursday night for a Friday and Saturday night stay. When I arrived I found out my room had been booked upstairs. I informed the lady I had bad knees and she went to a lot of trouble to get me a room downstairs which I really apprecieated. The room is basic and immaculate. A huge bathroom and shower (which I didn't have to step over the bath which is a bonus). It is on a very busy road and I certainly didn't hear any of the traffic noise.
