Not bad dinner tonight. Servings weren't huge. Slowish service, but they were very busy tonight. Nice staff. Decor good. Would go back again but not super special.

Great service. Food was delivered quickly and rather tasty. Prices were reasonable. Good crowd in the restaurant area too.

Heard good things since new owners took over, sadly just average. They should change their butcher, even if they have to charge more for meals.

We went for lunch and enjoyed the food so much that we went back again. It's a very friendly hotel with great staff and great food. We also played pool in the bar area with a baby in tow and no one minded. Do yourself a favour and call into this country hotel.

Came here after Saturday markets. Very average. Standard pub fair but gravy had no taste and fish was over battered. Service was good, just a pity about the food.

Food is absolutely beautiful and there well priced also a great place for a family to eat, also great just relax have drinks.

A drive up the Calder Hwy led my wife and I to kyneton and the shamrock hotel. Several hotels in this lovely town and we were not disappointed with our choice. A wide variety of meals at reasonable prices. 2 mains and sweets with coffee and a couple of drinks from the bar each saw the bill under $85:00.

We were met with 'someone' who was on the phone when we arrived, and quite literally greated us by looking at us and saying "yeah? ". So I decided to go and grab a table… in the largely empty bar. Now, the bar was set up with beautiful bi-fold windows; and given that it was a 25 degree day… you would expect them to be open, but they weren't. They were closed and locked and it was stuffy and uncomfortable. However, given the 'warm' reception we received on the way in, we were not comfortable approaching the person at the bar who greated us to ask if we could open the windows. Anyway, we felt we had made the effort to come in and sit down, so we ordered two drinks. The 'person', still on the phone, begrudgingly gave us our drinks and took our money, with not so much as a "what can I get you? " Or "there you go mate, enjoy! ". So, we sat and 'quickly' drank our drinks, in a stuffy pub, then left and scouted the town for something better. Thankfully we found The Parkland. This is a wonderful place in Kyneton, with friendly, outgoing, sophisticated and knowledgeable staff, who truly 'rescued' our Saturday afternoon, and gave us OUR place going forward. So, it's 1 star for existing and having beautiful bi-fold windows… even though they were closed; 0 stars for hospitality… or even service, and 1 star for forcing us to go and look for something better… as such, we found 'The Parkland' and will return to as 'our place' all year round.

Nice meal and good service in the bistro. Good Value. Nice, Clean and Modern Bistro with an old pub facade.

Decent place to stay for great price. Be prepared to have to share bathrooms and toilets and also would recommend keeping the voice down, coz rooms are too close to each other and may lead to complaints for annoying neighbours.

We have visited Kyneton with our family and stopped in for lunch. The place is awesomely cozy and the food was really beyond our expectation with a very good price. Highly recommended.

Clean room, quiet sleep, good service, great food, realistic prices… would stay there again.

I haven't been for a while and it is certainly as good as it was the last time about 18 months ago it's probably a little bit better with the environment as well staff are lovely and attentive to locals and they certainly seem to have a few people wanting to stay upstairs in the accommodation so that made me feel even more impressed thanks.

Best value in town. You get what you pay for with typical old fashioned hotel accommodation; shared bathroom and basic no fuss rooms just for sleeping. We loved it. Jack, our host, was friendly, welcoming and helpful. Great old fashioned unpretentious upstairs and old pub feel but with very comfortable and new essentials.

The Shamrock Hotel in Kyneton by far the best value for a meal that I've had in a long time if you are looking to eat don't go past the Shamrock I recommended highly.

Bad service, some nights. It's average but needs to be better.

We returned to the Shamrock Hotel in Kyneton after spending a cosy afternoon there several years ago. It had new owners but we thought we'd give it a go. How disappointing! I ordered a chicken salad and the chicken turned out to be some sort of pressed or manufactured meat. Also the staff were less than enthusiastic, bordering on rudeness. Loved Kyneton though!

Checked in at shamrock motel & was extremely disappointed to discover the hotel is currently closed as liquor licensing has removed its license!. Their site should have stated this. was not able to use any facilities at the hotel and had to step out for food and entertainment.

Totally the best and easiest place to feel warm and welcomed … Oh and must totally must dine in the restaurant the food is the best in town… For reals xxo.

Great little country pub. Good meals, good value, good service. Would go back any time.
