Lovely room recently updated with nice decor and modern bathroom. Good restaurant food with friendly staff… we ate there two nights.

Ordered 4 meals. 2 came. Questioned the other two meals they hadn’t put order through.

Absolutely not! Two couple we all ordered, only two meals came and nothing else … the waitress didn’t put through the two other meals…

My bike partner and I stayed there recently.
The room we were in was quite comfortable, great pillows, after a long day, and the pizza's were amazing. It was a pity that they were not what we ordered though.
However the guy and girl who were attending the bar were very friendly and helpful, which was nice. I would go back, but I want to try more of the cuisine… Thanks for having us Daylesford…

Had the most amazing meal on Saturday. The meal came very promptly no long waiting yet the bistro was full big bonus. Then when the meals came we were so happy with our meals. The pasta was amazing, pork belly decadent and the basic Parma was one of the best our friend had ever had but special mention to my meal. For a person who wouldn’t normally have a Parma I was struck by The Adonis Parma so when it came I was so very thrilled each bite was absolutely delicious. Then the owner came by and stopped to speak to us he was such a lovely man very interesting he completed our already wonderful night. If you’ve never been to The a Royal Daylesford make it a priority we’ll definitely be back.

A great room for an overnight stop. Comfortable and clean. Convenient location. Wife was going to order Aussie burger. She doesn't eat bacon. She asked to swap bacon for cheese. Not allowed! Amazing. Sounds trivial but such a simple thing. We had pizza!

We stopped in for lunch while out and about enjoying a family day out. Meals were fantastic and not too large which was perfect. Enough to fill us up without any wasted food.

This place is awesome! We stayed in suite 6. My mum and I came away to get a bit of r&r and were so happy when we saw the suite. Comfy bed with electric blankets, comfy couch and fabulous giant spa bath. Mum and I are a little ocd and we found this place immaculate. No need to go to far because the meals downstairs were great and staff were very welcoming. The beautiful wrap around verander you can access from your room allows you to enjoy the lovely sunset and county views. Looking forward to coming back here soon.

Delicious food and the new renovations to their front room makes the atmosphere so calm and beautiful. I had the roast vegetable pizza made vegan and it was absolutely awesome.

We had a late lunch/early dinner here one day. Place was clean and friendly. I had a beautiful beetroot salad and my partner had the thai beef which was to die for. The outside beer garden at the back is a hidden gem, we felt like the only people in the world even though the whole front was full of people. Huge portions and reasonable prices — we'll be back!

We're from Melbourne and have been here twice. 1st time was awesome. This time won us over! And will make this our regular place when in Daylesford. Rusty (Russell) gave us top class service. We had best Parma ever! He went over the specials of the day with us. Came to the table to check we were happy with our meal and drinks. Bistro is very clean. Warm atmosphere. Thank you Rusty, Chef & Staff for making our experience special.

Booked for 9 after looking at the lunch menu which was affordable prices got there and was told no we don’t have that menu in the weekends or school holidays.
Maybe you should put this on your website. Staff were rude and didn’t like it when we asked a question about the menu I think we were interrupting their private discussion. Overpriced meals were average at best.
Beer on tap only came in schooners (responsible service of alcohol? ) when you are driving maybe you would just like a pot with your meal.

Had dinner here and the food was great. It came out quickly, was hot and tasted really good. I had a parma and my husband had lamb shanks which he said were beautiful and the meat just fell off the bone. The dining area is not overcrowded with tables like some pubs, there's room to move. The only negative was the price for two pots of mountain goat ($20.30) which is why I didn't give it five stars. Great pub meal!

Very disappointed. Asked what size the kids burger is and they told me that it's really small and not filling so I changed to a pepperoni pizza, I then saw they had another burger on the menu in which I asked to change from the pizza to the other burger; they then told me that the pizza is probably already in the oven so I'm not allowed to change it. "Probably"… They then brought out the 2 kids burgers which were normal sized burgers that I definitely would have been happy with and then a really disappointing pizza. Rude workers too.

Very nice Hotel very close to Coles and shops. They give us champagne for welcome breakfast coffee free and $50 vouchers for dine in. We like it going again.

Always consistent. Good clean comfortable rooms, lacking a bit of water pressure though. Worth setting up base here for further explanation. Free continental breakfast.

Even though the rooms desperately need upgrading (think 1980s gloss black furniture) as does the dining room, I can't help but be grateful to the hotel for their lovely staff who went out of their way to be friendly and accommodating which is a big part of a successful stay I think. You can see the efforts being made on the beginnings of an upgrade (the rear entrance is pretty swish) and it's well worth supporting now. Be warned, no lift so you will need to bring bags up a steep staircase. Also, no room service but you can take food up to your room which was fine.

Staff were very friendly and service was quick. Just a couple of points on the food which overall was nice. When ordering my steak sandwich I asked if it had beetroot in it (which I dislike) as it wasn’t on the list of ingredients but I know in some places is put in. The girl said she didn’t think so that it was only put in the burger meal. Well it arrived with beetroot which I had to scrape out! Maybe a note could have gone through to the kitchen not to include it if she wasn’t sure. The meal was very nice apart from that. My husband ordered the flake fillets in tempura batter which he said was soggy and asked if they did them in breadcrumbs for next time. But he was told no as they come ready battered so no other option. He was also told there was only one light beer on tap Asahi and that it came only in schooners nothing smaller. $17.50 for a beer & shandy seemed a bit stiff.

The staff were friendly & helpful the food was good. The rooms are situated above the bar the gaming room & the outdoor drinking area & the constant late night noise ruined the whole experience.

Beautiful food, lots of room in the eating area. Unlike a lot of other restaurants, it didn't feel crowded. Food was delicious and served very quickly. Good prices given the quality as well. Will gladly come back here again!

I saw a deal on Groupon for the executive suite for a night. Upon ringing them they offered the same deal but not through an external provider. The room was big and clean. The spa bath was nice. The inclusive $50 meal voucher was enough for 2 mains. The included breakfast was a small box of cereal, milk included, juice box of orange juice and a tub of fruit in syrup. Overall a great stay!

Great place to visit our 3rd stay, very central, easy walking up and down Vincent st and to the lake, our room was comfortable and the staff were helpful though the breakfast packs are a let down.

We have the a spa suite for two nights. Room was clean and tidy and bed comfy. Large balcony which is cool although not private. The room was cleaned of rubbish and towels changed after the first night but dishes wernt washed or bedding changed, so pretty much self service. It's currently midnight on a Sunday night and there are still drunks downstairs drinking and shouting at the person next to them. Very noisey. I would only recommend staying if you intend on making noise. If you wish to fall asleep before 1am then stay somewhere else.

The food portion was a little on the small side but it was tasty. We had a large group and they were able to handle it with ease. Would recommend and would return.

Busy venue. Pokies, TAB section. Only one pool table. Clean with a friendly atmosphere.

Amazing venue and staff! Catering for a 100 person lunch group with delicious and hot meals. Our entire group commented on how amazing the food was. It's a credit to them to serve a 100 people with not 1 complaint. Congrats guys you run a great venue.

Had a lovely stay at Daylesford Royal Hotel last night (28/09/17) and the Executive Suite was spacious and clean! Bathroom size was generous with a built-in spa. Can't wait to come back!

Strongly advise against supposed 'executive room 10' if you wish to sleep. Nice decor but you are continually dealing with noise and heavy bass/pokies from downstairs as positioned near games lounge. This really should be something made aware to guests. Noise got even louder at 11.30pm which is unacceptable for a place that advertises itself as luxury accommodation. I went downstairs to ask for close time to be told it is 1am. Hotel had no after hours contact number made available. Better options in the region that will allow you to sleep, get relaxation and not deal with pokies!

Excellent food, parmas are amazing. Rooms are clean and tidy, good service. A little disappointed because Wi-Fi doesn't work in rooms.

A great place for watching sport in Dayelsford. I went along here when there were a few big games on at the one time, the bar had plenty of screens showing the different games. Had a few beers off the tap which were fresh and the couple of nibbles we had were nice.

The Daylesford Royal is a beautiful, heritage-style building; inside and out. The main bar is a sporting and betting man's paradise. There's enough TV screens to keep up with every horse and dog race in Australia, and watch three different sporting events at the same time. It's got that 'I'm back in the 70s entering a great country pub' feel about it. The other bar (Saloon Bar as we used to call them) is spacious, has great seating, and more TV screens for sports lovers. There are two outside areas; one at the front and one at the side of the Saloon bar for people who want to smoke (While Victoria allows it? ) Nothing plastic or sterile here. All wooden tables and benches. The dining room is also spacious, and the meals are superb. I'd call the Royal Daylesford classy. And inviting.

Wonderful time spent here. Dinner was superb and breakfast choices have good. Shame it was only 1 degree in the mornin as would have liked to walked around the beautiful grounds.

Food was so amazing as was the staff. Tia made us feel so welcome and nothing was a bother for her. An amazing staff member in a great pub is hard to find these days.

Great pub food with generous portions. Good selection of beers and wine. Looks can be deceiving from the outside, but once inside very large tidy establishment.

Visited for mothers day lunch. Friendly atmosphere, clean facilities and delicious pulled pork pizza! will be back!

Wonderful service. The staff were lovely, the accomodation was exceptional and the food was delicious.

There weren't enough salt and pepper shakers on the tables. The fish and chips meal was the worst I've ever experienced, change your cooking oil guys! Table service instead of a single person struggling to press buttons isn't that hard. Heck, get Gordon Ramsay in, easy!

Very spacious nice local pub. Only downside was we didn't know if they were open solely based on the bistro entrance. Otherwise top notch food!

Could be good but… They self describe as luxury accommodation. They need to review this as it just isn't. Positives: Room are large and comfortable. Hotel is in a great location. Mind you traffic in the mornings is loud. Negatives: Bathroom wasn't cleaned well and it had pink gunk spilled down front of vanity on arrival. On day 2 fresh towels given but room was not serviced. Balcony area is old a tired and needs work. Walls between rooms are paper thin and on night one we were kept awake until 0300 by the room next to us. The hotel plays music both internally and on external speakers from 0830 — 0100 every day which makes it incredibly hard to sleep. Vacuuming started at 0700. On reviewing accommodation feedback it appears complaints are similar, yet have done nothing about complaints raised. Yet the hotel still takes customers money and put them in accommodations where people have complained about hotel driven noise. I presume this is why they are doing Groupon specials. I think they need to decide if they want to be a pokies venue or have accommodation. We wouldn't stay again.
