Lovely surroundings and really good food. Would recommend.

Constantly running toilet, no power point.
To plug in either a kettle or phone. 2 teabags only for 2 people only and the milk is the Uht they cant even get a Small fresh milk. Also some bickies any biscuits to have with a cuppa would of been nice. Way to pricey for what you get or don’t get.

The building is beautiful. The staff are very friendly and the food is delicious.

Garbage! food was appalling. The so called chef needs to get a job at maccas mopping the floor.

Food was disgusting! Pork crackling was rubber, potatoe rosti tasted bitter, kids pizza came only 2 slices! Chicken scallopini has a very strong taste of white wine. The only good thing was a Pint of beer! That’s only because they didn’t make it!

Fantastic food, very welcoming staff and a beautiful historic building. A perfect afternoon lunch, would highly recommend.

Still here at the moment, staying for 2 nights, love the old world charm and stepping into my room was like stepping back in time. Very high ceilings which make room lovely and cool. The decor of the place is very 1800s which is great. So far the staff have been very courteous and helpful, the bed is very comfortable.
Centrally located on the main street of Queenscliff, very hand for just parking the car and walking everywhere.
So far am enjoying our experience here, would like to think that we will come back here again.

Great food and service. Loved my steak with red wine sauce incl chips, salad and wine. Our waitress was really helpful, professional and I'm glad I went with her recommendation of choice on the menu.

What a delightful surprise. Food in restaurant was delicious. The staff were attentive and friendly. Bedroom was warm and comfortable. Lovely sheets and doona. The Ambiance of the Grand is being restored. Spoke with Kate at reception who turned out to be the owner. Well done Kate for your hard, and no doubt expensive work. It was a pleasure to visit. We loved the Vue.

Nice Devonshire tea. Worth the stop.

We had lunch in the Pekish cafe of the Vue Grand and to say the food was average is an understatement. We ordered the Pekish Calamari that is supposed to have paw paw, ginger and coriander it had none of these. The tasting plate was served with no char grilled vegetables but came with half a whole roasted garlic and some sliced pickled onions, savoy biscuits, a few jarred green olives, and some inedible prosciutto and pate. On the upside the balsamic and Turkish bread was ok, the tomato and basil pizza didn’t have basil. We went there with the intention of sampling their food and considering it as a wedding venue but definitely won’t return with the 3 of us unable to eat dinner from feeling sick from what they served.

Great meal we had the anti pasto plate it was superb. Great place to walk around and soak up the history.

Beautiful old building! Loved the room with a balcony. Leather couches, around the hotel. Maybe a bit more food & beverage services to some of the stunning common areas would make this hotel outstanding!

Friendly staff and owners, lovely meals, breakfast was great and a really grand old feel to the place especially those high ceilings. Lots of seperate areas to sit relax and enjoy the ambiance.

Beautiful & welcoming Hotel Accommodation. Old World charm, comfortable bed & room. Buffet breakfast in the restaurant was fresh and delicious.

The dining Room is amazing. If you like Victorian tessellated tiles and stained glass, this ambience is for you. Staff are efficient and food is good.

We had a hens night at the Vue Grand we enjoyed the Fawlty Towers dinner and show. The show was very funny the food was alright. Staff where great very friendly.

Went to Vue Grand for dinner at the bar. Food and service was good, although menu was limited. To a while for rent of olives and bread to turn up, but after that things seemed to improve.

Lovely style of the building and in a perfect location. Rooms were a little small but had everything we needed. Very friendly lady working in the dining hall for breakfast, reception could have provided extra information on the area/attractions nearby.

I stayed at the Vue Grand for 2 nights and overall was a good experience. Perfect location right in the centre of Queenscliff. Also great if you want to stay in a location with some real history and stories. Included breakfast was great and the lady running the dining hall was lovely. The beds were also some of the most comfortable I have slept on it a while. Recommended.

The View Grand hotel certainly felt grand! Staff members were very accommodating – nothing was to much trouble. Dinner in the Grand Dining room was delicious, and incorporated local, fresh produce. I enjoyed the breakfast as well, which covered all of my bases, including yoghurt, toast, hot eggs & bacon, hash browns, baked beans, etc. As well as fruit, juice, tea & coffee. It's a short walk to a swimmable beach, and many gorgeous local shops, including a nearby preserves store and bakery with yummy (award winning) pies.

We booked two rooms for the Easter break. They were clean and spacious. The breakfast was lovely with a good variety. Staff were friendly and very accommodating. Very enjoyable stay.

Set on the Bellarine Peninsula, this venerable hotel dates from 1881. It's a 5-minute walk from both the beach at Citizens Park and the heritage steam trains at Bellarine Railway. Classic rooms with colonial-style decor with some that have living areas or balconies, fireplaces and free-standing tubs, and the bay views. The food was very elegant at the grand dining room by a casual pub in the enclosed terrace. Ah we were a gorgeous couple that night.

Beautiful old hotel, felt like I'd stepped back in time. Beautiful carpets and furnishings, nice rooftop bar. The attention to detail is amazing.

Lovely place to stay. Buffet breakfast was good too.

Calls itself 4-star, which is pushing it. Small room, no chairs, nowhere to sit except on the bed. No clothes storage space; 4 coat-hooks; bugger-all bench space — — you get the idea. Really not possible to just relax in "suite" unless one wants a nap or a bath. Most staff friendly and helpful. Got an excellent latte in the bar. But buffet breakfast (included in price) was disappointing: limited selection, poorly cooked. Management says they're refurbishing. Maybe when it's finished — — but meantime: overpriced.

Friendly staff, room clean although small, breakfast a big let down. Poor choice and nothing special. Room was alongside the bar restaurant so not quiet for much of the day. If you want a restful experience, this isn't ideal. Queenscliff is a quieter town than others, overall a pleasant break from the hectic pace of bigger cities but next time will try a bed and breakfast and hope for a better experience.

Such a grand looking place, yet such a pity the drinks are so over priced. I purchased a glass of Moscato, which was lovely, when it came out in a huge glass with this tiny amount of wine in the bottom, took three swallows and it was gone!
$11 per glass I feel was a rip off.
If you're only going to give your customers such a small amount of wine, atleast put it in an appropriate sized glass so it looks like you've received a decent glass of wine!
Shame on you Vue Grand!

We have stayed at Vue Grand a number of times over the years and enjoy the location and the quaint style of the hotel. New management I think are trying their best to get the hotel back to the standard it used to be but they have a long way to go. The rooms are always clean but updates are required everywhere. Power points, wardrobes, bathrooms etc. We were disappointed with our stay this time. Not sure if we'll come back.

On arriving the place didn’t look too bad, after ordering, we waited 53 minutes for food to arrive which was ridiculous. Many people ordered entree’s and mains and came and left while we waited for two adult meals and two kids meals. They were both pasta meals which does not take long, and the place was not busy at all. The kids food was average but the linguine was appalling. After almost an hour, the food came out and the waitress rudely commented on my four year old cousin’s whining from hunger saying “chillax we didn’t forget about you” which I felt was not appropriate to say to a child who had been waiting almost an hour for a spaghetti bolognese. The drinks were served on a arrival and already watered down so by the time the food arrived (an hour later) they tasted disgusting. We also stated that we were disappointed at the cashier while paying, however, we were not offered an apology as they clearly did not care. Would not recommended this place!

Had dinner and drinks here during a long weekend over New Years. Easy to get a table for two without booking in advance. Service was good. Had the ribs and seafood linguine. Food was nice, serving size was a bit small for the price.

Have just seen there Fawlty towers show. Absolutely fantastic do yourself a faver and come see it.

I spent four nights at the Vue Grand for four nights and looking back I should have researched the property and the area. The hotel was old; no one told me I needed to be in there by 5.30pm because reception closed. The room was nice but the bed was rock hard and trying to get at a power point was almost impossible and that was only to boil the kettle. Everything in the hotel was closed; the bar, the dining room, breakfast etc Good thing Wi-Fi.

Great service and even better food. Good variety of drinks also.

Had a lovely time during a work function, which also came with a lunch in the atrium. Good ambience and service.

Fantastic downstairs bar right on Hesse Street. Duncan is a traditional polite bar tender, Highly recommended!

A 5-star facade masks a 2-star experience.

Stayed for the long weekend in a refurbished room which was very tastefully done, very comfy bed and great showers good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Lovely and clean Very helpful and friendly staff. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Dinner in the Vue St Bar. Service was excellent and food was delivered very quickly and was delicious.

Went there for mothers day. Food was ridiculously over priced. Portion sizes were too small. The food was cold and under cooked. The description of the food did not resemble what we recieved. Waiter did not know the menu well at all. When I asked about a particular dish and how it was served, he said that he assumed it to be one way but didn't know, and did nothing to find out. Turns out he was also wrong. Would not recommend this restaurant and will not be returning.

Very old hotel with lots of character. Nice roof top bar (when open) clean. Don't bother with breakfast even though it's included in the price. Not good at all. Go somewhere else and enjoy a nice hot cooked breakfast. Wish we had of. Most of the staff were friendly. Great location.

Well done to executive chef, Jesse Hughes for his golden plate award for best chef. Those awards are really starting to add up now. Not a bad thing to collect!
And I've just got to ask; Who do you have to screw to get a chef's hat these days?
The food here is considerably better than several hatted restaurants I've been to, the service is always excellent and the wine list is fabulous too. On top of all that, this place always does dessert courses better than most other places of this calibre.
Thus, I'm sure it's only a matter of time before they get the chef's hat they so thoroughly deserve. I've been shouting this restaurant's praises for years now. Come on reviewers. Get it right please.

Great location and a beautiful old building. We had high tea and the room was done up amazingly. Attentive staff and a good selection of food and drinks.

Delicious craft beers and ciders. Staff brought us beer to a table! And outdoor area is stunning, full of foliage including magnolias and palm tree.

Good food, nice view, friendly staff. Only stayed for lunch but would go again.

Service was great. The room was quite nice and clean though it was a bit pricy. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent. The waiter was very friendly.

A large group of us from all over Australia stayed here when we were in town to do the Blues Train trip on the historical coastal rail line. We all had a blast. The hotel is super cool and the food was great.

Attended a wedding here. Service was great and food was between average and excellent from meal to meal.

The bad: Room was very over priced, no parking, so many stairs and not a hint of assistance from staff. Further to this the outdated miniature air conditioner had an awful sound when in operation. Room had mould on the mirror and the scum on the windows to cloud the great view. The good: Bathroom was awesome bath setting in room was fantastic so definitely not all bad. The hotel: Staff at the bar were excellent however, craft beer was good however food was disappointing to be honest, but plentiful.

The room we stayed in was modern comfortable and well appointed. The service in the hotel, exemplary. Highly recommend staying there.

Great building but limited menu choice.

Wow! This has to be the best experience ever. From checking in with the delightful Irene. The room, which was a good size and extremely comfortable. Not to mention the delicious dinner in the Dining Room, topped off with the Faulty Tower performance which was brilliant. Highly recommend the venue and the show, all of which has given us the most amazing memories. Thank you everyone at the Vue Grand Hotel.

My friend and I stayed there on the 4th of June the were terrific they could not have done more for us. The food was the best we would like to go back and we would recommend it anyone. Kay Lawson.

Pizza were only mains on menu and were disappointing. Needed more topping and more flavor.

Stayed here for the first time and stayed in Turret suite (one of the most expensive rooms). Objective review on the pros and cons: Pros — — — — In city centre — Looks good on outside Cons — — — — Feels like a university dorm — Dirty rooms — Bathroom are small, squashy and feel like a university dorm — Balcony is dirty with dead flies and other insects on chairs — Room is small — Bad value for money — Dining hall feels like a university dorm — Food is mass-produced — Rooms are NOT sound proof Summary: If you feel like spending >$300 per night to reminisce your college life with smelly, dirty rooms and hearing nothing but doors closing in the hallway, ppl talking, music from the dining hall all night. Then this is the place to stay! But for most ppl, their own homes would be alot more comfortable. Food was mass produced, tasteless and delivered with poor service. For us, it was a terrible stay and I only hope other ppl won't get fooled into booking at this place.

Terrible. The chefs should learn to produce the basics before putting it all together into a complex menu. Each part of the served dishes were poorly prepared and cooked. It's a shame that potentially very good produce was turned into such crap. Don't waste your money.
