Sometimes you fluke something so enjoyable that you can't believe your luck. Comfortable (actually one of the best beds ever), friendly and then topped by a personally cooked breakfast included in the rate. It just a few minutes out of the bustle of downtown Launceston. Who wants to stay in formula hotel room x when this is an option. Will return.

I came to Google to review Grindelwald Lodge and was very surprised to find negative comments for what is an outstanding place to stay. After reading the negative reviews I realised that those reviewers obviously mistook 'Grindelwald Lodge' for the resort nearby (Aspect Tamar Valley Resort) that offers putt putt golf and is a large rather dated complex. The Tamar Valley Resort is commonly referred to as 'Grindelwald Resort', hence the confusion. It is important to note that Grindelwald Lodge is not associated with the resort at all. Grindelwald Lodge is a private home that offers wonderful accommodation. We stayed here with two other couples and absolutely loved the Lodge. The views over the Tamar River are spectacular and the accommodation and beautiful grounds offer pure relaxation. There is a lovely indoor pool at the Lodge too and a beautiful deck where you can enjoy meals and drinks. If you're looking for peace and tranquility, then you will not be disappointed with Grindelwald Lodge. You'll love it!
