Now know as the Contour Hotel great staff excellent food in the restaurant new owners working at improvements.

Lovely staff lovely food buffet brekky is awesome.

Noisy aircon, TV doesn’t work, no breakfast.

Possibly my best stay anywhere. Clean, quiet and the front desk just couldn’t be more helpful! Highly recommend it to anyone but especially if you’re traveling with kids!

Clean grounds. Lovely gardens.

Told me they would refund a booking made online for the wrong date if I cancelled on Expedia. Charged me $300 for 2 nights and never got my $240 refund. Very disappointing service.

The staff are very friendly, the rooms are great and the food is superb.

It suited our situation, visiting family.
The food and the staff were excellent.
The first room we had the aircon didn't work. We did get moved straight to another room where the aircon worked, but not very well, until they cleaned it, then it was like an icebox.
The fridge didn't work properly and the curtain track fell down but the bathroom was good.
A bit of a mixed bag which I think a little more maintenance would help but overall good.

Omg what a wonderful place to stay in Katherine. Incredible value for money, best breakfast I’ve had in a long time (hot) Berni a gorgeous lady serving us drinks in the evening and breakfast in the morning was lovely. Imalka the manager was incredibly accomodating helpful and knowledgeable on local knowledge, so glad he said to go to the Outback Experience. Will be back with friends!

Clean and comfortable. Restaurant does buffet breakfast and lunch. Staff are fabulous.

A relaxed atmosphere and all the facilities you need, plus tennis court, swimming pool, laundry etc and a bar and good food.

Katherine is a beautiful little outback HUB (Town) 300km south of darwin… ibid styles had very cean rooms and facilities very friendly staff willing to help out. Great stay.

We were in the dining room restaurant. For a little money you can eat delicious, pay for alcohol separately.

Well located on the outskirts of town, clean facilities with a restaurant open from 0500 for breakfast. Staff are pleasant and food was nice and fresh. Options of indoor or outdoor dining with full buffet for dinner and breakfast. Internet was pretty dodgy tho.

The Bed sheets seemed like they weren't changed, TV had no reception and the free Breakfast was alright. Not too bad for a value stay.

The restaurant has a selection of perfectly cooked meals, some seasonal. It's roomy, sort of country feel while keeping its professional appeal. The grass areas are usually green and mowed and the rooms are tidy. Gardens could be redone but it's decent.

Helpful staff. Refurb is underway… next!

Very average facilities. Restuarant is a Bay Marie service. Rooms are clean, quiet location.

Accommodation ok Meals need a good look at Not much to choose from Tasted most things and seriously wonder if management have as some is nearly inedible. Its a basic menu. You need more variety Even a beef schnitzel instead of just offering chicken. Need for normal salt shaker on tables as who want chunks of rock salt on their food, grinder doesnt allow fine salt. Bar tends to run out of beer consistently. I realise its hard in an outback facility but seriously you shouldn't run out when u can restock daily. Staff trying there best with what they have.

The rooms are quite habitual, but in Katherine there is nothing else or better to find.
After breakfast I left my handbag hanging on the chair (I never had a handbag with me at breakfast during our whole trip, but here because there is no safe in the room).
I noticed it at the door and i'm back… since meln purse was already stolen… within 3 or 4 minutes… allegedly from a stranger who came in from outside just at that moment.
The operator then found the empty purse…
Of course my mistake, of course.
But the fact that you don't get an answer to emails on this matter and that one was not found in the excitement, because of the police and so on, forgotten electric toothbrush is quite funny.
I'm already thinking about whether I shouldn't send the charger again, because without it you can't use it for long…

Stayed here numerous times with work and found the rooms to be clean, food was nice and staff to be very helpful and friendly!

Yes, the rooms are really in need of renovation. But the restaurant is very good and otherwise everything is there. Breakfast times with 8.30 o'clock end surprisingly short. Swimming pool also available but water climate condition very warm.

An adequate place to stay but unfortunately, Katherine has very little to offer. Some plaster on the walls to cover up the bricks would improve the place and have a less prison cell feeling. Staff are friendly. On the last night approx 2:30am, fire alarms went off and no after hours number to find out what was happening. No one from reception bothered to inform guests about the problem until we were checking out.

Small dismal rooms made worse by a lack of comfortable covered outside sitting spaces. Room blocks are more like utilitarian army huts. Hotel seems to cater more for travelling construction workers rather than tourists. Housekeeping very poor, late and didn't leave clean towels or toiletries. Generally staff were unhelpful, although one or two did seem interested.

OK, but the Wifi only works very weakly. Can do better for a motel in this chain!

It's not a fancy resort. Away from the centre of town just of the main highway. If you're going to eat at the in-house restaurant then I'd recommend you book and get there early.

Ok, so travelling for work all I really need is a comfortable room and bed and this was not what was pictured. Misleading photos, tiny room. Rude Assistant Manager. Dirty marks on all linen and pillows. Air con was on 18 degrees and maximum fan for 3 hours while out at dinner and when I returned the room finally felt as cold as outside which according to the car was 24 degrees. I was still sweating in the room. Because it was "really hot today" this is acceptable performance and any other room would be the same. Despite my disagreement with the "Assistant Managers" assessment, I was not even offered the option to look at another room even though the hotel looked half empty. Sub standard room. Very sub standard air con. Sub standard service. Will never be back. Stay far away. And all of this "great service" for an Accor Gold Member.

Very bad services! Rude staff especially restaurant staff, that was the worst I never seem before. And also the room is old, no cooking staff in the room, maybe they want you to pay in the restaurant. If the time can go back, I never never choice ibis styles Katherine! The only thing I found good is they have a great swimming pool.

The location is excellent, on the south bound side of town. However the bed squeaked incessantly and there were no block out curtains on the window/door, which made for difficult sleep. The staff were excellent and the price was inclusive of full buffet breakfast, which had good options (poached eggs instead of the usual fried) if you like that.

Hard working friendly staff, especially the manager and the chef. The Ibis is old, but clean, well maintained and has secure parking. The restaurant does breakfast and dinner, but not lunches. Their dinner menu is small and simple but is very tasty. They have a small but sufficient continental breakfast (no cheeses, pastries or cold meats) or an optional cooked breakfast.

Nice place but could do with a little love inside and outside of the rooms. One big plus is the customer service as the staff are very nice and friendly. The rooms were just a little too dingy and dirty for my liking. Finally the bed was very hard, like sleeping on a slightly soft rock bes.

Waited 2 hrs for my meal in restaurant (watching other people come and go) when we were first people in restaurant. Only to receive a cold steak with no apology for meal or lateness. Was spoken to rudely by staff when needed access to room after politely asking both reception and housekeeping to unlock for me.

Very nice welcome. The Bungalow 42 has an integrated washing machine, a kitchen and a sitting area… Great Luxury! Swimming pool with barbecue area.

Had no record of booking then charged $10 fee for internet booking despite not receiving it! Customer service fine but rooms are dreadful. Ours had ripped carpet, nil powerpoints beside beds, air con switches broken. And this was the superior deluxe! Only booked as everything else was taken. Avoid at all costs.

Honestly it's been the same place for 18 years that I know of.
The name has changed so many times us locals don't know what to call it.
Yes I've stayed in a room a couple of months ago cause our power went out.
Not a fresh and vibrant decor, and found the typical neglect in the Territory of dirty air conditioning filters. This I didn't expect to find in an Accor chain establishment. …
Recently, the restaurant menu has undergone an uplift.
We have avoided it for a couple of years because the menu was bad.
It was brilliant 4 years ago, and we ate there regularly.
I hope they maintain the momentum this time and continue to make an effort to get the locals in.
The decor has had a facelift.

Food was very nice. More restruant style than pub. It was a but more expensive but the serves were very generous. It was busy but not an overly long wait. We were very happy.

Room was spacious and clean, and probably the best hotel I stayed at on my journey from Alice to Darwin, breakfast was good, pool was nice. As a budget stopover this was about the best along the route. Would I holiday there, no. But it served the purpose I needed it to four one night.

Reasonable food both in serving size and quality. Staff were attentive however food took some time to arrive. Prices were high, especially beverages. Overall not a bad experience however seemed over priced for what was on offer.

Good sized rooms which were clean. Good facilities with nice pool and communal BBQ area.

Stayed recently for a few days for work. Room was okay, there was good laundry facilities and the pool area was nice and tropical. But the special thing about this hotel is the fantastic service provided by the friendly staff! I need to give a special mention to a lady named Bernie. She remembered the drinks I would order and gave me good suggestions on meals when I asked. But mainly her outward glowing positivity made your whole day better! Definitely would recommend taking a break here in Katherine.

Bit scungy and odd mix of food but friendly staff.

Fantastic Stay at Ibis in Katherine, Friendly, Helpful Staff, Spacious Rooms, Clean and well looked after Hotel Grounds, Delicious Food at the Galloping Jacks Restaurant and a Fabulous Pool. Definitely recommend to all visitors! Will return and stay here again. Thank you Ibis!
