Very underwhelming. Nearly impossible to find somewhere to eat. It was not until upon arrival we were advised if we had not already booked dinner for each night of our stay we would not get in. They were right majority of restaurants are closed down. Those which are open are either booked months in advance or exclusive to the hotel attached and will not allow anyone from outside their hotel. Only option is Pizza, Mexican or fish and chips. Obviously the stress and anxiety set in at this point. We assumed being a popular holiday destination there would be no issues finding somewhere for lunch and dinners. You can wait at the door of a restaurant and hope for a cancellation which may take a few hours. We waited at the front of Romanos Italian (beautiful dinner) from 450pm to jag a table. Limited menu due to walk in but was fantastic. While eating we saw at least 40-50 people who were all dressed up for a special night turned away unfortunately. We were informed by staff this is due to staff shortages. Called prior to arriving a week out to book tours and restaurants but on hold for over an hour on three occasions with no answer from the Hamilton Reservation Line and tour desk. Disappointed with Hamilton Island to be not informing people of this and leaving anxious people wondering around every night trying to find food. Grocery store IGA available, island prices which is expected and fine but a couple we spoke to only had a hotel room and no cooking facilities.

Have had 2 awesomeholidays in picturesque paradise Hamilton Island. People were friendly staff were excellent. Massages, cocktails scrumptious foods and water sports. Enjoyed by us. even bought a unique stone carved seal as a souvenir.

Just spent an amazing 4 days on Hamilton Island. Weather was perfect and the apartment fantastic (Poincinnia). The 1st night we booked Sails Restaurant, even though we booked a week in advance we could only get a 5.30 table, we could not fault the food, it was some of the best Asian fusion food I've ever eaten. However the ambience of the restaurant did not do it justice. We were sat almost in the foyer with no view and where kids played amusement games and people were still coming in from the pool. It was such a shame as we were celebrating a big birthday and the restaurant seemed pretty empty for that early setting. After dinner we went to find some more lively atmosphere, and was disappointed to hear there was nothing, no music anywhere on a Saturday night. The island was packed, surely its viable to get musicians to play especially on a Saturday night. The 2nd and 3rd night we ate at Manta Ray and again the food was outstanding, there was a musician playing out on the grass Sunday at sunset who pulled a big crowd. There really is nothing else to do after your meal and if you don't book in weeks in advance, chances are you will be having an early meal.
We'll be back Hamo, just hope you get your club open or music at your venues sorted to match the rest of the experience.

We married on Hamilton Island in 2019 and stayed at The Beach Club. We couldnt have even imagined how amazing this place is! Its a dream come true for an elopement as we done in the chapel. ❤Just for two❤ (plus the obvious) EVERYTHING was perfect. The service, surrounds, the welcome, the food, the events, the shops, the people, the staff and the atmosphere was second to none. I want to live, work and breathe there. Well done to all! Absolutely nightmarish booking process, which caused a great deal of stress beforehand… HOWEVER, once we actually got to Hamilton Island our stay was magnificent. The Palm Bungalows was a lovely accommodation facility, with our meals all delicious, the sunset sail so relaxing, and the 1/2 day Whitehaven Beach trip magical as always. We hired a buggy for a full day and were able to explore parts of the island we'd never been to before. You seriously need to up your booking game, but we simply couldn't fault our stay.

I would highly recommend a visit to Hamilton Island either as a couple ir family or friend group. The activities, the food, the staff, accommodation and views are outstanding.

How lucky are we to have all the beauty to discover. From Brisbane we flew to Hamilton Island. From helicopter rides, buggies, hire a boat for the day, Whitsundays, friendly staff everywhere. Great experience. Definitely going back. Some photos of our travels on my FB page of our beautiful week there a few months ago.

We took the blue and green shuttle buses and met the driver Carlos Carlos went out of his way to give us a guided tour of the island and tips included one of the best spot to view the sunset Had a great time.

Such a beautiful place, if you don't have a buggy that's ok, the free shuttles go around the island. If you happen to run into Carlos, he provides great entertainment with his sense of humour. Has great knowledge of the island and activities which was great help in regards to locating everything. quite enjoyed the jet rider, was fun and informative as well.

Everything, enjoy the best place in the world. Views are stunning, island is so beautiful.

Lovely place but below average service and Island amenities. Very little choice of dining many places were mosty closed. Would we come again? No.
Would we recommend it? No.

Fantastic staff everywhere! The bus drivers are so friendly and helpful. Mary is our favourite. We looked forward to seeing her whenever the bus pulled up. Always smiling and welcoming, she really made our stay so much more enjoyable. Thanks Mary! Also worth a personal mention is Di from the art gallery. What a beautiful person and so kind to lend me some paint brushes. Also Dave, another bus driver. Met him at the tavern one night. Chatted like old mates! A little kindness goes a long way. Pleasure to meet you Dave! Our family have had the best stay on this island. We did everything and nothing all in the one holiday! Definitely recommend Hamilton Island to everyone. Love this place! Your staff made our whole holiday most enjoyable. Thank you from the Ruck family!

Loved Qualia restore and the island’s nature. We will go there again.

Have the birdshit cleaned off everything would be a great start. There was ridiculous open times for the pool bar 12 to 4 pm. It was so sad watching everyone wait including myself to just enjoy some holiday drinks. Everything feels like a scam. From the over regulated buggies that you can't really go anywhere that you can't walk to the lifeguards shutting beach activities if the conditions aren't perfect. Food felt like food court shopping centre dining. The place is just too controlled but mostly so far from standard that I am actually writing this review. Do an overpriced day trip which will give you more than enough time on this boring island!

Would be a nice place to stay for longer then half a day but thats all the time we had, it is very clean and the locals are friendly.

Hamilton Island Holiday Homes took great care of us during our trip to Hamilton Island. I believe they are the direct lodging management company for Hamilton Island. Their service was first class from the moment we arrived at the marina where they picked us up in a nice commuter van and took us to Frangipani 001, which was a first-class modern, newly renovated 2 bedroom unit with heavenly views of Catseye Beach. We loved that the rental of our unit included complimentary beach activities, and free meals for our kids at a handful of the restaurants of the island. On our departure, they came and retrieved our luggages from our room and took them to the airport while we continued to do some last minute sightseeing before our flight. They get added props for also finding a Kindle ebook reader that our kids left behind, and promptly having it mailed back to us in the States! We initially thought we had kissed that thing goodbye. That's truly going above and beyond.

Great during the day. Would not recommend at all if you want sleep at night. It seems to be a haven for young people having parties. My children, family and I were kept awake every night by different parties at different holiday homes each night.

We stayed there January 2016 with family. We had a wonderful holiday. Thank you.

Extremely disappointing! The facilities are old and shabby. The beach and pool area dirty. Reception staff unable or unwilling to provide any type of service. The rooms are in need of renovation, especially the palm bungalows. There is no service at the beach or pool area. No pool towels available. The entire island is rather worn and I just cannot understand the hype. A complete waste of time. Would not recommend, there are many many much better places in Aus and around the world. Housekeeping was horrible, more sand in the room than before they arrived, having just shaking out towels in the room and hung them up again from the floor. Commented on poor facilities and service to hotel guest services, never received any feedback or was contacted again. While staff are friendly, nothing is delivered in terms of service. The pictures below sadly paint a better picture of the place.

Great view. Bedrooms over two levels. Kitchen just a little bit too small. Large outdoor areas. Air conditioning and fans work well. Common pool too small but fine. Sloping walk to pool harder for the older people in the family but not impossible. Bus stop in reasonable proximity. Common complex bins within good proximity. Fridges good and views across the islands. Great sunset view too. Service from airport was pretty average not picking up our last two family members from the airport and also getting us out 4 hours before our flight. Could have let us stay another hour so left bagage at airport and got bus back to town and enjoyed some family time in a local cafe. The weather at this time of year in January was fabulous. We will be back and subject to some minor changes will go back to use this very same townhouse.

Comfortable and functional accommodation.

Great option for families wanting to stay on the island with a little extra space and kitchen etc to prepare food for the young ones. The other benefit is all Holiday Homes include a buggy so you don't have to rent one separately.

Wonderful service. Although we didn't get a chance to actually stay at Hamilton Island due to flight cancellations, the reservations team were a dream to deal with. One day we'll make it there!

Had a fantastic holiday at Hamilton and the accommodation was especially amazing! Such a fantastic setting and feeling and the place we stayed fitted right in with its surroundings.
