Brilliant place and the staff are so friendly. Perfect place to relax unwind OR do stuff. Jet ski paddle sail tour the reefs snorkel and lots more. Highly recommend.

OMG how Great is this place. Lots to do and also so relaxing. Infinity Restaurant has Awesome food and service. Living Reef is Amazing. Sunrise and Sunsets are just beautiful. Rooms are very comfortable and refurbished. Definitely recommend to everyone.

Just a day trip here but I’d love to come and stay. A beautiful resort. Super friendly staff and immaculate grounds including so many pools. Love it.

Such a beautiful island, so much to do, see and experience. Tash was the live muso each night and was AMAZING. We went for cocktails each night just to see her. Definitely recommend.

Had a fabulous break, great sea view from the room, lots of activities (you HAVE to do the jet ski), down to earth, friendly but professional staff.

We had a lovely time at daydream for our honeymoon. All the facilities were good, our room was amazing, and the staff were very attentive and friendly even though they were clearly very busy. Thanks for a great trip!

We just got back from our family holiday at Daydream Island stayed there for 8 nightd and I can't recommend highly enough this beautiful resort. All staff was very friendly and helpful, I actually never experienced such a level of service in Australia. Amenities and activities were fantastic for kids and adults, outdoor movies, living reef activities, water sports, pool games, treasure hunt, bingo, trivia… Food was amaizing and high quality. I can't say one bad comment about this resort. Well done Daydream Island will be back for sure!

I feel for this resort atm completely under staffed. The vibe is very low, staff are doing their best to accommodate. Beautiful location.

Had an amazing week, friendly staff Amelia, Perry, Lottee, Anna, Xavier, Renee and many others… Had a door lock issue and was attended to immediately. One small complaint needed 2 or more bar staff to handle the orders as only one on most of the time, never found the staff to be rude they just had to handle one order at a time, though I believe with boarders opening more staff coming on board as the resort is getting busier for Christmas… I give our week a 9/10… thanks daydream for a great holiday…

This is undoubtedly the worst place I’ve stayed in my entire life! Beautiful scenery, amazing clean room (until you look under the bed) and facilities but the island restaurants are disgusting, the waiters are unpleasant and rude, island staff in general were rude the entire experience, the only few pleasant dealings I had were with concierge, and a bartender named Andrea who showed concern or helpfulness. The infinity restaurant was absolutely disgusting service and they served me with filthy, unwashed glasses. Whole experience was underwhelming and I’d highly recommend staying on Hamilton Island at their many resorts with fantastic food options and pleasant, helpful and kind service.

Fantastic place. Do think service could be a bit quicker. Ordering alcohol and coffee took an extremely long time. Staff were very friendly though.
Prices were typical resort prices so be prepared. LOVED the swim up bar. Kids loved the kids club.
If I could suggest anything maybe a few more activities ie something at lovers cove (live music) the south side could have more organised activities that people can do when weather doesn’t allow for water activities.

We’ve absolutely loved our time at Daydream Island. It’s a little piece of paradise in the Whitsundays. The island is beautiful, the wildlife — kangaroos, cockatoos, butterflies. It’s so relaxing and the staff are all friendly and helpful, good food, sunset drinks listening to a blues singer at Lovers Cove. What more can I say? Support our local tourism industry.

Amazing location, lovely resort, good activities and friendly staff. Just a shame they ran out of a lot of things whilst there, they didn't seem prepared for the amount of people staying.

My wife and I have been there a few times and it is the best Island retreat in the Whitsundays by far. I can not wait to see the newly renovated resort but more importantly, the good food, excellent service and great relaxation.

My first time there I found it so relaxing all staff are really good great food and cocktails plenty of activities and off island tours.

The beers were warm and they keep running out.
When ordering cocktails or wines they say, O sorry were are out of that.
Very poor but the food is very good and it’s a lovely place.

Fabulous accommodation, we had adjoining rooms for the kids. There were activities happening everyday which not only the kids enjoyed but us adults did too. Archery was our favourite. The outside large screen had late release movies showing and the putt putt was awesome, best I had ever seen. Lovely walk from rooms to other side of island and even a nature trail across the island for those who like to hike. The pools in both areas were great and drinks and food was close by. The included breakfast every morning was a real treat, ranged from hot food like bacon, eggs of all kinds, spaghetti, to porridge, cereals and all kinds of fruits, toast, muffins and a range of juices, tea and coffee. Our family had a holiday we will always remember.

Looking good for a newly built resort after the cyclone. Friendly staff and a great vibe. Will definitely look to stay on the island in the near future.

The resort looks absolutely amazing since the renovations have been done, all the staff are amazing and friendly happy to take the time to chat to the guests including the day guests like I was. Can not wait to go back and stay.

Amazing 5 night stay at an incredible resort. Plenty of activities during the day, multiple pools to choose from and great food. Perfect for families with young children.

Beautiful views from this island. Stunning. The wait at the outdoor restaurant was unacceptable though. Spoilt out visit. Also the coke tasted like soda water.

The living reef is incredible. So many activities we couldn’t fit them in, and very close to other islands. They could improve the information they give about the activities. Apart from the activities desk, I found the staff very friendly and helpful.

Just spent the last three days here and from the moment we stepped off the boat and we were greeted by Charlie we knew it was going to be an amazing stay! All of the staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too big of an ask! We tried all of the resturants and all of the food was! The resort is spotless and we loved our visits from the very curious cockatoos! Special shoutout to Amelia who took us on the living reef snorkel tour, she was so friendly and patient and knew her stuff and is without a doubt a very valuable part of your team! Thank you to everyone on Daydream Island.

My husband and I are here at the moment. Everything has been refurbished after the last cyclone. It has only been open since May… its now August. All new staff. Some Managers have already been replaced… all very friendly and helpful. We had some constructive feedback for the catering Manager Terry. He was extremely helpful, his reaction was unexpected but much appreciated. WONDERFUL place to relax and unwind. Some things are not finished yet but its early days. Some people will never be satisfied and will always find something to complain about!

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Loved the water activities, pools, restaurants and living reef. Whale watching, sunsets at lovers cove, scoping out views along the rainforest walk, sailing the catamarans, living reef activities and yoga in the aquarium-view room were some of our many highlights. Food was delicious and fresh at every venue we tried. Gary in the swim-up bar was fantastic and we loved Tom, Sonja and Seb from the activities team. Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable!

After ringing your reservation line been told a standard room starts at $392 at night not including transfers from the mainland and when I asked why such a high price per night I was told because of renovations. No offer for locals to stay either. Keep your resort. I won’t be paying that for a night best I book my family’s holiday to Bali. You wonder why locals won’t stay.

I went there for the first time in 1975. I've been back quite a few times since and love the island.

The mermaid seaview restaurant is the only nice place on the island. The resort feels like its straight out of the sixties. It is a Very very expensive resort. The food is bland and expensive. While they claim use of kayaks and other equipment is free, the use of all equipment is limited to certain times and where you can go. Travelled here for my daughters wedding which was a complete disgrace from the wedding planners indifference to the complete lack of professionalism on the part of ALL staff at EVERY level. This was the worst and most expensive experience of my life.

Daydream was an amazing place, I wasn't there for a very long time but what I saw was stunning, great service and would recommend.

2013, This was an experience to be trapped. Drop in, walk around and get out as fast a possible. This place is in need of major work (recent cyclone may be the best thing to have happen for the owners, assuming a large insurance policy). We had a stained mattress with springs sticking out, cut me up and we got a sorry do you want a bandaid?, no other rooms available (barely 50 guests). Restaurants are less than food court quality with microwaved bagged foods. Want a snack, forget it, nothing is open, want a small dinner, forget it $70 per head seafopd buffet. Want a simple breakfast, forget it $35 per head buffet only. Three days of hell. No beach, no staff, cockroaches, dirty, stank of bat poo. Was glad to leave. The good stuff, welcome party and photography offer was actually good, the Forrest walk ok.

What a great spa resort for families! Highly recommended! Will recommend and stay again! Thanks for the awesome time!

Went to Daydream island for 4 nights. Arriving there was a bit underwhelming, our welcome guide was very monotone, rushed and didn't smile once. We checked in and headed to our room. We expected there to be a mini kitchenette type thing but all there was was a kettle. My partner and I are vegetarians and looked up the menus of the restaurants in advance so we knew what to expect, also brining things like noodles in our suitcase for lunch because there weren't a lot of lunch options for us. We were disappointed there wasn't even a microwave or any bowls etc. The standard of the room other than that we were completely satisfied with for the price and location. Aircon worked great, beautiful ground level room view! Updated TV and bathroom facilities worked fine.
We were disappointed as one end of the island which featured a tavern, bakery and boutique shop were all closed because they are getting renovated. We weren't told this and based a lot of our meals around those places so a lot of the time I was very hungry! The only guaranteed big meal I had each day was a big breakfast with lots of options there, also taking some fruit for throughout the day because there is no where to eat for a large portion of the day. Very limited options and don't cater great for vegetarians/vegans and gluten intolerant people.

First of all I have to say I have bren coming to the Whitsundays for over 40 years and have always rated Daydream Island very high on my list of holiday destination. But right now on my third day here. I have had enough. This island is disgraceful.
Most activities on the island are broken down or closed. I spent 35min lining up tonight to order our dinner and there was only 3 people in front of me. By the time we got our meals our 5 year old was asleep. The buffet was closed tonight so everyone on the island had to walk to th other side of the island a there was only one golf buggy commuting from one end to the other. When we got to sit down for dinner the room was so hot we ha to go out side to eat what is wrong with the A/C. Then when we went to eat our dinner near the cinema there was a large puddle of water which smelt lke sewer. The creeks in the mni golf are are a toxic health hazard. No wi fi as advertised. Most bar are closed all time. There really is so many things wrong its a joke. I will be requesting a refund. If I don't get it, I will take legal action to retrieve my money. So sad such great place has turned so bad. On a good note all the staff are trying so hard to make things better but as the saying goes. "you can't polish a terd". If the owner can't understand this saying, ask an Aussie.

What a great Island with stunning views everywhere you look. Great for relaxing with plenty to keep you entertained during the day. Food options a little limited and evening meals could do with some improvements.

What a let down for our family holiday. First 3 days the water in our room was dark brown due to maintenance on the island water supply, was eventually offered showers over the other side of the island and bottled water. Mini golf is really run down and has lots of broken and torn items, lots of trip hazards, the ponds were moldy. Have to wait til 9.30am to get golf clubs and sometimes by then it's was too hot to play. You eventually get over the high stench of the recycled water near the pools they use on the gardens. False advertising with Gilligans Bar near the pool, hasn't been opened for years the staff told us. Internet is only downstairs. They have weird hours for the "free" water sports, first in best dressed and they are only open for 3 hours a day. I would suggest taking snacks and some fruit with you as there isn't anywhere to eat after 4pm til tea time unless you get highly priced packets of chips from the shop and bakery is on the other side of the island. Coffee shop opened til 1pm, bar opens at 4 or you have to go to pool bar. You have 2 restaurants a night to choose from. Waterfalls buffet was expensive for kids. Fishbowl was good when it was opened but hot. Mermaids food was nice. Very under staffed. Splashes pool bar was great. Torn pool chairs, broken pool stools near bar. Wear thongs to the beach til you get used to walking on the coral. Definitely not 4.5 stars. I would give it 2 stars.

Abit dated, alcohol is expensive and can't cook your own food. Very beautiful place though and staff is lovely. Gardens well maintained and kids loved all the activities. Views are stunning and rooms are always cleaned. Food is beautiful, wild life is friendly. Will definitely be back.

It is located in the beautiful Whitsundays. The Day Spa treatments are awesome with very professional and experienced staff. Staff throughout the hotel are friendly + helpful. The Coral rooms have beautiful views. Service is great, except some dining experiences leave a lot to be desired. Food is average + selection of seafood limited. Alcohol range is limited + average.

I do not recommend. First point of contact was unprofessional. I was attempting to sort out month, (not exact date) to find DayDream Island Resort were uncooperative. This was through the Luxury Escape deal. I explained having to book airline travel was also important to know the exact month I could select. Unfortunately I was given the run around. As a result I will not be visiting this resort. Be careful of Luxury Escape deals because they treat you like a second class citizen.

What a beautiful place. There is a living reef with coral, fish and stingrays swimming in it. The island has a very relaxed feel. The main pool has a swim up bar. Water activities include snorkelling, sailing, paddle boarding and a self proppelled guided tour. The quality of the food in the restaurant is of a high standard, and the Mermaids restaurant has a great ocean view to enjoy while sipping a cocktail. Family friendly.

We loved the place! It is family friendly with heaps of activities. The accommodation is good, views are stunning, atmosphere is welcoming. The only downside that it's impossible to get any food, if the restaurants are closed.

We recently visited daydream island for a day trip from Airlie beach and had a fantastic time. Our Cruise Whitsunday trip included breakfast and lunch. Breakfast was a buffet with lots to choose from, including a huge hot and cold selection. Lunch was a voucher from the bakery which had a great selection of wraps, sandwhichs and other yummy treats. During the day we wondered around the island, the pools were all well maintained and there were enough that it never felt too crowded. We tried seabobbing which I can't recommend highly enough. It is expensive but jetting around on the machine is lots of fun. We also took part in a stingray feed which was an incredible experience. Overall I highly recommend day dream for a day trip or an overnight stay.

Weekend stay, as it was the of season not allot of the island was open. Single choice for dinner each night and meals seamed over priced. They were nice but not great. Only the rooms were air-conditioned and they had fans in the dining areas that just didn't cut it. Pools were the highlight and sure to stingers we didn't swim in the ocean. None of the staff seemed to communicate and each person you asked a question or for a service would tell us one thing only for its too so it and then be told, no that's not right I'm not sure why you were told that. The outdoor aquarium was a standout with the lemon shark and stingrays. Make sure to catch a feeding session. The mermaids restaurant does not like walk-ins so be sure to book. It was the cost of the ferry to the island that was the biggest let down, being the cost of a nights accommodation. Should be a special rate for people staying on an island. Had fun though, not sure if it is a value for money holiday if that's what you are looking for.

Snorkeling at lovers beach is great, especially in the mornings. Must go to the Stingray Splash if you're staying there and meet Carl the fish that eats everything. Great experience. Going back next holidays.

Loved my stay, rooms were a bit dated but still very nice. There was free Wi-Fi which is always good in my books. The living reefwas amazing, I went on the stingray splash feeding much recommend. Food and drink was priced well and all the staff were very nice. I would recommend anyone staying there.

The island is very picturesque and the activities were varied and fun. The accommodation itself is starting to look a bit dated but is functional. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. There could definitely be some improvements made to the food quality and variety. The restaurants are on rotation so you only have two options each night. The free buffet breakfast had quite a selection but was of fairly low quality and the hot food was often cold. For us, staying four nights was long enough to do all the activities on the island, and overall we really enjoyed our stay here.

I only got as far as requesting information from Reservations. We have been considering a holiday to Daydream for a while now, having visited when I was a kid. I am sure answering the same questions over and over as a Reservations Clerk is a tedious job, but unfortunately the girl I spoke to is not doing the Resort any favours. My enquiry was in relation to availability with a package deal with Luxury Escapes versus booking direct through the Resort. The girl came across as extremely disapproving of the Luxury Escape deal and made it quite clear that there we no guarantees of dates or bedding configuration in quite a snide manner. One of my pet dislikes is establishments that offer deals then look down on the people who take them up. If Daydream staff disapprove of the Luxury Escape deal — then how about don't offer it. It is very uncomfortable phoning up for information on a deal to be looked down on. We wont be booking a holiday at Daydream.

Overall experience is ok, gardens and pools are very well kept, the lagoon aquarium within the resort is great and you could spend hours just watching the stingrays, sharks & fish. Resort buildings are starting to show their age and could do with a better maintenance schedule and rooms are basic 3 star, clean & simple, however feel cold with the basic furniture and hard tiled floors throughout. One tip, make sure you have plenty of room on you credit card, everything is very expensive, a coke can $4. You need to eat at one of the 5 places on the island for every meal, breakfast was included in room and is a buffet that provides a good selection. Lunch will depend on what's open, the bakery was the best option but can cost around $14 for a sandwich & drink. Splashes takeaway food was above average fast food $25-30 per meal. Dinners we found the buffet was good if you could eat $45 worth, the fish bowl tavern was typical pub fair fast service about $35 per meal, good family atmosphere. Outdoor movie was really good, although really loud the setting of the area and outdoors was worth it. Overall it's good but not great. Great pools & ok rooms. Family friendly if your kids are over 4.

Just one plant has tourists. No services. We let you wait hours for a room.

All this is unfortunately spoil a unique setting.

The location and the island are great. They have just been ruined by poor management of the guest services and the guest experiences. I actually felt sorry for the reception staff having to face numerous complaints from quests that they were powerless to address. The food was very poor, and the choice of food outlets was frustrated by the rotation of different outlets over different days as outlets were closed on random days. Some of the staff were good, but most were very poor. The people at the activities desk and some of the wait staff were the only ones worth feeding. If the owners spent more time and money on looking after their quests they may find that they would have more money to spend on refurbishing a tired but functional set up.

Very bad customer service! even 1 star rating is too much. Rather pay more to stay somewhere else.

If anything, our second visit to Daydream Island Resort and Spa was probably better than our first, as we knew our way around and, importantly, we had brought two friends with us to share the pleasure of the Island. As on our first visit, we were on a Luxury Escapes six-day, five night package which included lots of interesting extras like the Stingray Splash Experience which put us into a lagoon under the supervision of a marine biologist from Scotland for a variety of activities, e. G. To feed a variety of sting-rays; to race star-fish; to feel sea cucumbers and so on. The 19-hole putting course was great fun and we had a 2 for 1 voucher for the course which kept the prices down. A highlight of our visit was to watch the sunset at Lover's Cover as we enjoyed a bottle of sparkling wine and nibbles courtesy of Daydream Island. We were not alone in watching the sunset as several young — and very tame — rock wallabies joined us in the hope of scrounging some of our nibbles. They were happy to be patted and stroked as we fed them a variety of food, including grapes and Pringles!. The buffet breakfast at he Waterfall Restaurant was excellent, especially as they had a small, adults-only dining room where we could enjoy breakfast while watching the water cascade down the waterfall. The food at the Mermaid Restaurant was excellent but expensive as they had a captive market — the only alternative was a take-away pizza.

Its a incredibly small physical area about 800 metres by 150 metres wide. I don't suffer from boredom or claustrophobia but at about 24 hours you have done everything twice. So its very isolated for variety to eat, drink or be entertained. If there was competition on the island in these areas it would be non sustainable. Lf you have been there once you wouldn't be longing to go back.

Daydream Island should be promoted as a "family vacation" catering to children and not as a "couples romanitic getaway". We booked our 30th anniversary vacation, completely sold on thier adevertisment "Romantic, Peaceful" Instead we found ourselves consumed by screaming children, unattentive parents and a staff that seemed oblivious. The food was absolutely horrible, cold, tasteless and dry. If you're looking for a peaceful, romantic, adult time DO NOT BOOK DAYDREAM ISLAND! Our 30th anniversary was completely ruined and we paid a crap load for it.

Look, we wouldn't go near the place again although the resort itself probably deserves five stars. We had some property damaged by the helicopter landing and the management pretty much told us "bad luck, our stuff shouldn't have been near the helicopter pad" — not even an apology. It is a lovely well kept place, nice big lagoon-style pool, sharks, rays and fish swimming in the lagoons under the foot bridges is pretty cool, beautiful gardens etc, but it really is about money making. Everything is DEAR, a coke will cost you $6 from the shop. You will not feel important to them unless you are spending big money. The currents rip past the islands so any water sports are dangerous and the "Beach" is dotted with rocks so you can only really use the boats etc at high tide and if you go out to far the currents get you and they have to come out and rescue you. The little bay where the snorkeling is is often closed for weddings. My suggestion is, unless money is no option, to take your hard earned dollars down to somewhere like Long Island Resort at Happy Bay, $9 all you can eat breakfasts, great bush walks, same "beach" situation without the current though. It's not 5 star but great value for money. Oh and unless you're incredibly wealthy or want to pay your holiday off for a few years, stay away from Hamilton Island too. Cheers.

We were just visiting for a few hours, but it all looked very pleasant and impressive. The collection of fish and other animals around the resort was a nice touch, allowing us to see sharks, sting rays, fish, and wallabies. It was a bit of a hike from the hotel to the shops/restaurants at the other end of the island, but it was a pleasant walk (excluding the golf carts running us off the road a few times — it really could have been wider). The outside of the resort looked a little old, but the interior was very nice and maintained. Seemed like a nice venue for a resort getaway.

Very good wedding and holiday destination.

Was fantastic to get kicked off the beach for a wedding, then the pier for photos and were not allowed near the cove. No hot water for 3days and reception couldn't have cared less about the numerous complaints. The best part of the weekend was leaving with the flu. Management was too busy to see us upon our departure and paying of the bill which was unbelievable.
