Summit Hostel Hotel

One of the best places for working backpackers. Nice and clean facilities and comfy rooms. During my three month stay, I enjoyed every day of it. Ben and Penny are good and helpful hosts. I'm going to miss this place! Reigning Australia Day Volleyball Champion.

The Summit backpackers really is a Home away from home, Ben & Penny are fantastic owners and have a wonderful family, they are always doing everything they possible can to help us backpackers out, 100% the best place to carry out your 3/6 months farm work. Highly recommended. Thank you guys!

This has to be the best place to do your farmwork, and is by far my favourite hostel I’ve ever stayed in. I stayed for 3 months and I was so happy and comfortable here, it became a home rather than a hostel. Ben and Penny are absolutely lovely people who will be honest with you, and genuinely want to help you have the best farmwork experience you can. They have become friends to me much more than hostel owners! There is always a great atmosphere and it’s so easy to make friends because everyone knows each other. The hostel has everything you need, you get your own space but also plenty of comfy common areas to socialize with everyone. It’s been the hardest place to say goodbye to and I will miss this place so much. I cannot recommend it more!

I can't recommend this place highly enough! Thanks to Ben and Penny I never once felt like I was staying at a hostel, it felt more like being at home surrounded by one big family! The hostel has everything you could ask for — cool lounge areas to watch films and Netflix, a volleyball court and soccer goals! After finishing my farm work I was sad to say goodbye to all of my friends and to leave this place because I loved every moment that I was here. … Thank you Ben and Penny, I miss you guys already! :)

Summit backpackers, let me start by saying the place is hardly a backpackers but more like a home, you're welcomed with open arms and treated as if you're family from day one, there is nothing penny and Ben wouldn't do to help you, whether that's to find a job, a lift to town or another Wi-Fi code because yours 'isn't working' I've spent three months living at this place and there wasn't a single day where I felt hatred towards it and trust me doing your farm work makes you hate everything.
Whenever you see penny she is always full of life and smiling which instantly makes you happy regardless of how you're feeling at the time.
I am beyond gutted to be leaving my home but most importantly my family behind, it's been an absolute blast! Would highly recommend for anyone looking to do farm work or just looking for somewhere to stay for a few nights.
I can't wait to return in the future to see how things have changed and how much banjo has grown.

Had the best experience at summit backpackers and made some great friends. Ben and Penny are so kind and accommodating, and very helpful in finding work. Hostel is very homey and has everything you need. Perfect place to do farm work. Can't wait to come back and visit!

Quiet place with lovely people. Summit is not an incredible bacpacker in his construction but the atmosphere in that place is the best around Stanthorpe.

I've stayed at the summit for almost 4 months while working on a farm and had the most amazing time. I met people from all over the world and made some friends for life. The owners Penny and Ben are lovely people. They are doing a really good job running the hostel and put a lot of effort in doing this. This place became my second home on the other side of the world. It feels like family. I'm looking forward to come back soon.
