Worlds smallest TV and when you check in your not actually in the hotel your put in a old villa type apartment that is super outdated. Refuse room 519 if you get it as the front door is broken and you have to force it shut. It’s a scam you think your staying at the Rydges a 4star hotel instead they make you walk across the street into an old outdated hovel 😡

Great accessible accommodation with very suitable bathroom facilities!
We stayed here on our way up the coast on our driving trip north to Cairns and this stay is our return journey because of the great facilities, including a wonderful onsite licensed restaurant!
May we commend the lovely lady at the restaurant who looked after us on both visits and made sure that we were well taken care of and was genuinely interested in us and our travel plans! She’s a true gem!

A great hotel to bunk down for the night with excellent views out to the harbour and great eateries close by.

Our stay at Rydges was horrible, apart from the fact they were the only hotel with a room with two double beds. They staff were unprofessional when dealing with a booking error, both the person who checked us in and then the assistant manager when we checked out. The hotel is old and run down. The hallways smell musty.
Definitely wouldn’t recommend to stay here or go back.

Rydges Gladstone is looking a little tired. Seems that after the boom it has all just been let go. Breakfast. Was terrible. Get the impression that they only have one frying pan in the kitchen. Took too long to replenish the hot dishes. Was warned yesterday by other colleagues that the breakfast was bad. For$19.00 I expect better service… good old Maccas to the rescue…

Where to start? We stayed there for 2 weeks for a business trip and it was the worse stay I've ever had. Firstly we arrived at the reception and no one to greet us. Had to get the suitcase trolley myself outside without any help. No restaurant or bar open or room service on the weekend. Staff act and seem super annoyed all the time and one of the waitress being super rude for no reasons. We ordered oysters and they were off served with a slice of orange as the kitchen had run out of lemons. But also no vinaigrette. While I asked nicely for some the waitress came back with a bowl of white vinegar by itself. I asked 3 times for my room lights to get fix to different poeple I think the shipment never arrived. You want to wash your clothes? One of the dryer smell like burnt and towards the 2nd week the other dryer broke down so they took our clothes to their staff room. This hotel needs new management or maybe just a bulldozer and get knocked down.

Very bad service, very expensive comparing with the service and other hotels.

Staff were polite and very pleasant. Hotel decor is old and tired looking. However the pool is the biggest worry, the ladder going into the pool was wobbly and the steps on the ladder were easily a step and a half, very difficult and dangerous to enter and exit the pool. I ended up with a huge black bruise on my knee. The pool seriously is a disaster waiting to happen, the tiles aro7nd the pool are cracked and chipped. Pleas be advised that the restaurant is not open for any meals on the weekend. Definitely not up to Rydges standard.

The hotel decor is old and dated. The beds are comfy hwever the restaurant was not open on the weekend. The pool was outright dangerous. The ladder was wobbley and the steps on the ladder were difficult for a senior to use as they were more than a step and a half. I ended up with a bruise on my knee trying to exit the pool.

We actually stayed at their Capricorn Apartments. Room was nice, had everything. Staff were friendly. Unfortunately restaurant was closed over xmas.

Absolutely fabulous. Amazing room with beautifully water views. The lady who checked us in had only been there 2 weeks, but was really nice and very helpful. Will definitely stay there again. Oh, forgot to mention the most comfortable beds ever.

This place needs an upgrade urgently. The air conditioning in my room was louder than the TV. Virtually impossible to sleep with the thing turned on. No restaurant, breakfast, room service at the weekends. Thai restaurant outside the main door saved the day.

As always, checking in, state of the rooms, were great, always sleep well. Been a while since I dined in the restaurant downstairs & I now know why. Wait staff professionalism very ordinary, ordered a med rare steak & came out just over medium & dry. Happy to stay again when next in Gladstone but dining I will venturing elsewhere. I took a client to dinner & neither of us were impressed.

I stay here every time I come to Gladstone. The rooms are very clean and the bed is comfy. Air con is a bit noisy. Bar has happy hour bet 5pm-6pm. Room service for dinner and breakfast however on this trip found that breakfast is not available on the weekend. Staff are friendly. Can recommend.

Old hotel and the decor shows it but the rooms are very clean and the beds comfy. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The food is very good.

Haven't stayed here for a while but the memories of the comfy bed & pillows came rushing back as soon as I entered the room. Wonderful night sleep, will be returning when next in Gladstone.

Rooms are nice, but it needs a refurbishment after the Gladstone boom. Bathrooms are looking especially tired. Functional place to stay.

Staff were all helpful and friendly. Location was great for getting everywhere and the room was comfortable. No kitchenette or cutlery in the room and only a small bar fridge that was mostly full, but if you don't need those, there isn't anything wrong with the room I had. Complementary tea and coffee with a kettle in the room.

Stayed when cyclone Debbie came ashore. The staff made sure everyone was looked after and made to feel safe. As I was in Gladstone working, they were onto it with prepared pick up and go breakfast and lunches. I found the staff more than helpful, which makes a pleasant and unexpected change when compared to the big city approach in some places I've stayed, both in Australia and overseas. The room I had on the 4th floor was comfortable, clean, well presented. I did have an issue with the lift in the first hour of my stay, but the staff resolved the issue immediately after I informed them of the problem. I ate in the restaurant some mornings and every evening. The evening daily specials include a quality beverage and generally pretty good meal, so is excellent value.

The food is great the view is lovely and the staff are fantastic and very helpful when ever I stay the staff remember me and look after my needs, the rooms are comfortable and always very clean and fresh.

We stay in this hotel for three nights. It was alright at first until we found blood stains on our sheet and blanket. The service was poor no cleaners and the rooms not service everyday they dont change towels very disappointed. The staff nice but for $130 a night u expect to get service. So we move to Queens Motel only pay $70a night but the service excellent the staff good and the cleaner service the room everyday change towels, biscuits, juice etc. Very happy excellent I give Queens Hotel 10/10

We stayed at this property over the Anzac Day weekend and were extremely disappointed. The staff were friendly enough however did inform us that there is no room service or housekeeping over the weekend so bed s were not made, room not cleaned and toiletries not replenished. Overall there is a distinct lack of maintenance, rooms are outdated and not cheap. The property needs a big refurbishment if it is to continue with the "Rydges" name. We also had dinner in the restaurant on Friday night (which also was the only night open) and again meals were very average and costly for the price and despite our 20% discount for being a Priority Guest member. Would not stay there again and there is a lot of better accommodation to choose from.

As usual the staff at the front desk were very polite, The restaurant staff were cheerful & helpful, meal was excelent, our room was a little disappointing is so far as there was a musty smell in it but apart from that the bed was very comfortable.

Love the modern contemporary style & colours of the hotel. Very polite & friendly staff. I've worked in the travel & tourism industry for many years; managing teams to provide the best customer service so when I arrived at check in, I was greeted by Ryan; well presented with a huge smile. He was very efficient, knew his job inside & out — one of the fastest checking in service I've experienced in awhile. He respected my time which is high in customer service. Our room was ju…st fabulous! Room 403 Twin Harbour view with dream beds; I didn't want to close the curtains as I soaked up all the night view until I fell asleep. Let me just say that the dream bed was very comfy. Dinner & breakfast was great! Lots of selection for everyone. A special mention goes out to Karmahle (our waitress at dinner). Great personality, honest and fun loving. One could tell that she was passionate about her job, like Ryan. You two are the faces of Rydges that I would expect at a great hotel. Now for a dip in the pool before heading off. Keep up the awesome customer service! Respecting people's time, give them choices, make them feel good. That's the way you guys do it already.

Overnight stay, unimpressed. Arrived late evening, room looked ok but fridge contained leftover food and no milk. Dead light in main area. Found mobile phone case on floor that I handed in. Left in a rush, left my tablet behind and rang back 5 hours later when I discovered my loss. Not much interest, cleaners unable to find. Yeah right. Done a lot of travel and rate in lowest 10% personal experience overall.

Its in the heart of the city and close to good restaurants. Rooms are okay, even though the AC has a mind of its own. A big plus is the free Wi-Fi access.

It was unfortunately the worst hotel stay ever. I travel frequently nationally and internationally and staying at Rydges Gladstone was the worst stay by far. Very old hotel, room style might still in if we were in the 70ees, very noisey humming sound as well as construction sound.

Great Staff. WOnderful people work at the hotel. Renovations were happening while I was there, but it was not disruptive.
