The hosts Tony & Helen are wonderful. It was little things that made a difference eg: putting the air con on before we checked in so it was lovely & cool when we arrived. The room was ready early so offered us an early check in & no one was checking in after us so offered us a late check out. Amazing hosts!
The White House is so beautiful. It’s spotlessly clean, perfect location and has everything you need for your stay. The pool area is also lovely with a bbq, banana lounges and the pool is heaven. We loved our stay here & we will definitely stay here again.

We spent three nights at the White House Apartments in port Douglas. The rooms were immaculately clean and well-appointed to accomodate both ourselves and our two children (13 and 10years). It is also most conveniently located close to safe beach swimming area and within easy walking distance from main street shops and restaurants. The owner Tony, was most helpful in accommodating our needs! We would most highly recommend the White House Apartments!

Felt home away from home. Spacious 3-bedroom, each room with balcony, full amenities, living, kitchen, Coffee pods coffee machine, laundry facilities, generous starter packs, private parking, value for money, great location, very close to 4 Mile Beach, its lookout and shops at Macrossan. 15-20 minute drive to Mossman Gorge. Made our Port Douglas getaway a very memorable one. We missed the White House upon check in at Fitzroy Island the following day.

You will struggle to find a better value, better located and better quality place than this in Port Douglas.

Stayed at the stunning White House for some of our honeymoon. It was beautiful clean and spacious with a awesome pool to relax in and watch the wildlife flying around and singing as the sun goes down. The manager was incredibly kind and helpful! Very close to town and even closer to cute outdoor cafe that does a lovely breakfast right by the sea. We will be back! Thank you for a memories.

Thank you for your great hospitality (when you saw us lol) we had a great time here in Port. We adventured everyday and was nice to come back to nice accommodation.

A small, quiet and Qld quaint accomodation with lovely garden surrounds, opposite the park and beach. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

We had an amazing stay in the Whitehouse. The self catering apartments are clean and the beds are very comfortable and the aircon is icy cold. There are some very fancy places to stay in port Douglas but they are noisy, contain way too many people and you need a shuttle bus or car to get to town. The Whitehouse is a 5 min walk to the main strip, a 2 minute walk to the beach and surf club (great food). During the 6 nights we stayed I didn't hear any noise so I slept beautifully. Marge is an incredible host and gave great advice about day trips to choose. Can't recommend highly enough.

Comfy and cosy apartments (almost) by the water, just a few streets away from the main road where all shops and restaurants are. Host was lovely and helpful, willing to help book any day trips from Port Douglas. Too bad there was no Wi-Fi, but then again, it helps being offline in such a relaxing place.

We had a lengthy stay at the White house, and from day one everything was just right. The apartment was immaculate, as were the gardens and there wasn't even a leaf in the pool. Margaret, the manager, welcomed us and remained welcoming throughout our stay, Suzie, Margaret's assistant, was endlessly helpful and cheerful. Thank you Margaret! You are a star! You made our dream holiday come true, always ready to go the extra mile for us, even driving us to restaurants for evenings out. Lovely apartment. We are recommending the White house to everyone looking for a great place to stay in Port Douglas.

Myself, family and friends (5 in total) stayed at The White House Apartments in June 2012. Our stay was unforgettable. The service received from the staff was excellent, there was never a hesitation with any questions asked, and the help received with booking sightseeing tours was exceptional. The location is wonderful (quiet, and only a short walk to everything! ) Our room was clean, tidy and comfortable (including the beds). Our 5 day stay ended is myself and my partner becoming engaged, So anyone looking to go to Port Dougla, s I HIGHLY recommend a stay at The White House Apartments would only enhance your visit.

Last September we enjoyed a family holiday at The Whitehouse Apartments. The setting was ideal, great views, clean, quiet, but within walking distance from all the other amenedies we required. Such a delightful place to stay.

We stayed at The White House in July 2011. We found it to be an excellent apartment. That was clean and well appointed. It is in a great location with easy access to the beautiful four mile beach as well as the cafes and shops in Macrossan Street. We would recommend these apartments to anyone visiting Post Douglas and we hope to get an opportunity to get up there again in the not too distant future.

We recently stayed here and really enjoyed the experience. We loved sitting on our balcony, relaxing. It was a quite and restful place to just sit, have a drink and relax. The bedroom was great and, more importantly, the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was roomy and included a washing machine and dryer — as well as enough washing powder to do a full load of washing! Essential for us as we'd just come from a week in the Daintree Rainforest. The kitchen and lounge area was fabulous. The couches were comfortable and while we didn't spend a lot of time watching tellie, the screen was big enough to see from the kitchen. And the kitchen was great — a full sized fridge, dishwasher and more than enough plates, glasses and cutterly for the two of us. But best of all, was the warm greeting we received when we arrived and the fantastic advice we got about where to eat and things to do. This, more than anything, made us instantly feel at home, comfortable and confident about getting around Port Douglas. Oh, and where this is situated is really good. An easy walk into town to go out for dinner, breakfast or lunch if you can't be bothered to rustle something up yourselves in the fully equiped kitchen. And it's only one block from the four mile beach so strolling after dinner or before breakfast is an easy thing to accomplish if you stay here. I'd highly recommend staying here. We'll definitely be going back on our next visit to Port Douglas.

We stayed at The White House on a family holiday with 10 of us, including two babies, and we were able to book two adjacent apartments. One of the apartments housed three generations and it worked brilliantly. The apartments were clean and it was great to be able to cook there. Being such a short walking distance to town was a positive, and I appreciated how tastefully the rooms were decorated; not just the standard, awful ‘hotel’ prints but beautiful blue cushions and clean white bedspreads – the sort of thing you would like to have in your own home. Very elegant, very Queensland! Having been to Port Douglas before I didn't think I had any questions but the lady at the front desk was so helpful that before I knew it I was even getting her advice on local chiropractors. There’s also something pretty cool about being able to tell people, “We’re staying at the White House” :).

Forget Bali, forget surfers', but never forget The White House at Port Douglas. Its unreal. Well. Particularily if you are from cold old Melbourne. For someone on the wrong side of 40, Port Douglas is a tropical Disneyland without all the fuss. Great climate, sublime beach, extremely friendly community, both tourists and locals. Great restaurants, and a great corner pub with an outdoor TAB. A handy place to hang while you know who takes care of the shopping. However, Port Douglas' jewel in the crown has to be The White House. Its not glitzy, its not trendy, its not state-of-the-art razzamatazz. Its just the best. Its the best Queenslander in Queensland. Open plan apartments, open balconies and just a pitching wedge from the beach and a good two wood to the city strip. I have stayed in apartments on the first and second floors and they are both excellent. Clean, neat, and great cooking facilities. Off to Europe next month, but would rather be going to The White House, unfortunately, she who must be obeyed, pulled rank. But next time, I'll be going back with or without the Major-General.
