Because one 1 star review isn't enough.
We wanted to go to Dreamworld with our 2 year old and saw tourist desks dotted all over offering 2 for $50, less than half the online price. Seems too good to be true because it is!
For this offer you need to sit through a 90 minute presentation and get your tickets at the end. We went to the Wyndham Surfers Paradise ready for the 90 mins sales pitch. Mr 2yo wasn't keen on the kids club (no surprise as it's a new and unusual place for him). After a few attempts to settle him he wanted to stay with Mummy and Daddy and play on the floor. I was happy to sit through the presentation with hubby next to the table playing with Mr 2yo. But that's not an option. It's not an option because they expect you to commit to a $20-30, 000 timeshare deal there and then which is a huge financial commitment for anyone.
After realising we can't 100% focus on this presentation with an adventurous 2yo we got pressured into leaving (essentially kicked out) with the ultimatum of either come back later with a quiet toddler or don't come back at all and here's your $50 back. We are on a family holiday wanting to go on a family day trip willing to hear about this apparently family resort. There's no room for families there only people who are willing to open up their wallets.
We are Accor Plus members and often stay at Accor hotels getting special room rates, discounted meals at restaurants throughout Asia Pacific. If you want any holiday discounts or special rates look at Accor Plus and the Novotel Surfers Paradise (where we are currently staying). For $300 or so you get your money back in savings and costs a fraction of what Wyndham are trying to swindle from you.
