My only negative would be that due to having a microwave in the room it would be nice to have a few dishes, cutlery and tea towel.

Money grab Hotel. We had one towel each for our 2 night stay for bathing swimming ect. An extra towel costs more. Rooms only served once before you get there. Extra cleaning cost more. $200 key deposit that you may get back in 3 weeks if we payed cash we would have got it back straight away but who caries that much cash now days? pool furniture in various stages of disrepair pool and spa had more sand in them then the beach had. $10 breakfast pathetic. For about $130 a night you would think you would get air conditioning I stayed at cheaper dumps that has air conditioning. The hotel itself was in various stages of disrepair lights in our room and hallway not working and in our bedroom carpet was tearing coming apart furniture was cheap and old.

We told the receptionist that I'm TERRIFIED of heights, she put us on the 13th floor.
We had a choice at night, either keep the windows open and be kept awake by all of the street noise but be kept cool due to lack of air conditioning, or close the windows, not have as much noise, but be stinking hot.

They have a tennis court, which was being used as a car park during our January 2021 stay,
Don't believe the photos on their website, we had big chips of paint missing on our bedside table, mould in the bathroom, something broken in the shower and was sticking out, and a light wasn't working in our room, even the light in the hallway to our room wasn't working,
Rooms don't get serviced daily, only weekly, you have to pay extra to get your room serviced more often.
It was literally just a bed to sleep in, that's it.

Beautiful views and a breeze throughout the unit, the ambience was relaxing and quiet, easy secure parking underneath and walking distance to everything I needed.

Reasonably priced my room could have a bit of care put into it. But pretty good. Great location.

We booked this place through Agoda. Turned up only to be told we then needed to then pay a $200 deposit. The receptionist was a smarmy, arrogant piece of work who didn't give two shits about the fact I did not know this. Her and her cohort also delighted in taking the piss out of another customer who had locked himself out of his room the night before. Save your money and book elsewhere.

Great location, awesome veiws even from the porcelaine throne. Clean room, helpful and friendly staff and great value. Very comfortable bed and great value breakfast at Montmartre across the road. As others have said it's not the newest building on the coast and no air conditioning, but worked great for our weekend away!

Well is that any way to give negative ratting? Trust me. Everything start when we arrived. Went to reception nice and happy as we were on Holliday. The girl on reception was very rude and short to begin. Any way lets this not make our Holliday go bad. Went to room 1406. Wow… must be renovated in 1850 carpet were peeling, old and dirty. There was sand inside the apartment. Check the toilets, pubic hair all over under the seat. Bed smell. No aircon and fan not working. So went to reception tyelling the rude reception girl that we are leaving. She made me seat for 30 min to make my refund. I did. Now they never refund us the Holding deposit we had to give. $200. Called today and even more rude woman answer the phone, shouting on phone and hang up. Mate this hotel is a disaster. Do not stay there. Its 2020 they got no air con or working fan in QLD that avarage temperature is 40 degrees. Plus u get many rude staff member…

This resort simply does what it wants to with bookings even when a certain specified condition has been asked for and guaranteed. You get here and it’s always “sorry but”! Everything is old and or out of order. Besides location it’s very sub standard to say the least.

Good value place on the beach. Reasonable value considering what’s available elsewhere. Good location because it’s close to the mall, the beach & transport but a block away from the noise of the mall. Not a party place so don’t ruin it. Amenities seem stingy — empty fridge, no bar, older flat screen TV & empty looking garden area however everything is here: good bed, new pillows, great views, pool, jacuzzi, sauna, security, kettle, basic dishes & cutlery, adequate sofa & chairs & tables, weekly room service, luggage room, games room, tennis court, security parking. You come here for the views, the right sized rooms, the cleanliness & good value for what it is. No luxuries, the decor is a bit ordinary but it doesn’t feel overly dated. Spending more requires a jump, spending less & you lose the view or pool or location or all 3. It’s the sort of place we all come to again & again & work out we bring the chocolate, the drinks, the DVD’s & save some dollars. The breakfast voucher for across the road is a fools choice. Breakfast downstairs is much better but normal tourist prices apply. Can get busy on the weekend so don’t turn up too late. Bottle shop attendant also recommended the cafe next to his shop, which is not the voucher place. The rooms feel a bit more apartment like instead of a motel room. It’s that 1 big difference that makes it worthwhile. No actual balconies but the sliding door is super wide. Once open it feels airy & luxurious because of the dramatic views.

Beautiful place, great deal I got with this place. It’s my choice of place to stay when I come back.

We had a bad experience with this hotel. Not good service at all. Very disappointed ☹️ not come back again ever.

Location is great but that’s all this place has. On arrival the front desk lady informed us of our rooms and that one room we had an extra bed for our child and the other room we didn’t. After getting set up and eating dinner we realised there’s no other bed. We were Informed by the lady who checked us in that if we wanted another bed there’s an extra cost. This is after she told us that we had one. The sofa bed has a lock on it so you can’t use it. The rooms are not clean pr…operly. The milk in the fridge is out of date and there is no air conditioning, have a one-year-old and a dodgy Veranda railing we’re going to have a long hot night. The whole hotel is rundown old and in bad condition. If you want to save some money and have a cheap place close to the beach stay here but if you want something that’s nice a little bit extra or the exact same price and get a hell of a lot better place Stay somewhere else. We definitely won’t be coming back here again. Shame on the staff for lying.

The owners of the apartments need to inspect their apartments and maintain them and complete basic maintenance because many times I have stayed in an apartment at chateau their is a lot of damage to the apartments especially in the bathroom from water damage to the roof causing it to go rusty, to rusty shower heads, soap scum on the tiles in the shower and dirty windows.

Stayed for 2 nights, Staff at front desk were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was nice and clean and had awesome views of the beach. Would recommend anyone to stay here as it is so close to everything and excellent value. Will definitely be staying here again.

Nice staff, clean kitchen, blankets and bathrooms… We stayed in a studio with all the things you need to cook, really nice experience… No doubt I will come back… And the most beautiful view!

After reading everyone's reviews I must admit I was scared as to what I'd find when we finally arrived! I must have stayed at a completely different place. Lovely staff, very helpful. The room, yes a little old, but clean, fresh, bright and beautiful beach and pool views. We used all the facilities, pool, spa, sauna, games room and laundry and all very adequate and clean. As I read all the terms and conditions before purchasing anything I was well aware of the $200 bond, that I paid for in cash and received back after check out. And was aware it was a 3 star, only serviced each 7 day apartment… As I may add most of the 5 stars on Gold Coast are as well. I think people are too high maintenance these days. For $301 for 3 nights and 4 days for a Hotel right on the beach, walking distance to everything, I was very happy, comfortable. And will definitely stay again.

Mum with 2 kids, arrived to wonderful staff with fantastic customer service, got to our room and it was awesome, the view was outstanding and everything we needed. The facilities were great especially the steam room. We were so close to all the best food, shopping and 20 steps from the beach, the price was exceptional, thank you so much for the best few days. My friends and I stayed here saturday night, we were playing music wasnt even that loud and got told to turn it off… and when we were comming back from a night out we had just got back we were laughing and we got a noise complaint! … how ridiculous is that!, may as well not even breath! Not worth a $200 deposit! Plus $180. The fan was basically hanging off the cieling… no balcony… wont be staying there again… lady at front desk was also rude…

There was no hot water the night we arrived or on the morning we checked out, therefore could not have a proper shower. We ended up having to boil the kettle, and pour into the bathroom sink, add some cold water to make it warm enough and then use a water jug to pour the hot water over ourselves. Honestly might as well of been camping, probably would have been more comfortable too. The bed felt like you were sleeping on a stack of logs, the tiles would have been more comfortable. The TV turned on but didn't pick up any channels. Also don't sit down to quickly on the couch, you will end up with a metal bar smashing into your back. When I reported all of this to the front counter staff, I was told it is not their problem and there is nothing they can do about it. They gave me a business card and said I will need to email the manger to raise my issues. The only positive I would have about this hotel is its location, very close and central to everything. Overall, this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in (and I have stayed in some pretty average hotels). I am not one to normally write reviews either, but I felt the need to warn anyone from every staying here. I will 100% never be returning to this hotel and will be advising everyone I know wanting to make a trip to the Gold Coast to not stay here.

Had a wonderful stay in a Beachfront apartment on the 15th floor. The rooms were lovely, the view absolutely spectacular and the location a short walk to everything you need. At the top of my list for hotels to stay at. We'll be returning again. Family and friends who have seen our photos of our holiday also interested in staying.

Loved the place, it wasn't too crowded when we checked in so my friend and I were able to enjoy the sauna and jacuzzi in the morning. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed. Loved the balcony with a view of the beach on our right.

Older accommodation but a fantastic location. Staff are very friendly and the facilities are great. Difficult setup for room deposit, cash only. Will stay again!

What a dump. This place was disgusting. Poorly maintained, stains on the walls, mold on all the furniture and rust everywhere. Nothing like the pictures. When we requested a different room because the one we were given had so much mold a dust it was settling off my asthma we were told that all the rooms were just as bad. More like a hostel than a hotel, definitely not worth the price. A huge disappointment.

Stayed here for 4 nights during the Commonwealth Games. Views are incredible (as with any apartments along the coast). Parking is OK — there are parking spaces underground and on top. Sometimes it takes a while to find a spot if the spaces are full. Pool, Spa, Jacuzzi, Sauna and the Steam Room are great! Place is close to a lot of amenities. The room was clean, bathroom was spacious, kitchen has all your amenities. The sofa bed mattress is incredibly soft and I would never sleep on them ever again. All in all, I would stay here again.

Booked a studio room through expedia. Called 2 days later to upgrade to a 1 bedroom beachfront apartment. When we arrived they had allocated me the studio not the upgraded apartment. I asked if they could get it sorted for me or give me the refund of the upgrade. They of course couldn't refund or give me the upgrade I paid for because they were fully booked and pretty much told me it was my fault for booking through expedia. The only thing the chateau has going for it is the location. Front reception are arrogant and rude and the rooms themselves are in need of an upgrade. Do your self a favour and pay a little bit more for decent accommodation cause the chateau just doesn't cut it.

I stayed in the hotel for a night in the ocean view studio apartment along with my wife during easter holidays. Room, amenities was alright (simple yet clean and presentable) but considering the price it's not bad… most importantly the view is amazing from the room, staff is courteous n services provided are good, close to all cafe and restaurants.

Nothing fancy, the room was abit run down and dirty. Found mould, piles of dirt, cracked toilet and rusty pipes but for the price of one night was bearable. Very smelly and old motel. The facilities were great especially the pool and saunas! Only let down is no aircon. Location is everything and the views were fantastic. Staff were nice too.

I've stayed here twice, great value great location. Not overly fancy but has everything you need. I'll be back.

Rudest staff I’ve ever encountered Figured the first rude reservation female was a one off but they were all consistently the same After I paid the room to rude number two and three staff and paid the $200 bond deposit I was told I wouldn’t get it back for 40 days (too late now to walk out) and it was obvious that info wasn’t shared till it was too late as they were prepared for the ensuing conversation Asked to book a full beach front room and was quoted a last minute reduced price Paid the room rate and kissed my $200 goodbye for 40 days when I got to the room we were given a box sized room called an ocean view room instead The only view of the ocean was if I stuck my head out of the bedroom window I could see 2” of ocean
Went back and said I had the wrong room and Asian bird who could hardly speak English argued it was all my fault Begrudgingly gave me the right room and said I had to pay extra surprise surprise
Asked for a second key as is customary and was told it was $200 if I lost the second key
Came with parking and a threat if I didn’t put the hotel paper on my dash I would be towed away at my expense
If I wanted clean towels they were $3 and if clean towels maid service was any more often than 7 days I had to pay Extra again Four tbags in a glass and no face washers Got into my uncomfortable supposedly fresh bed to find sand and black dirt at the foot of my bed We hadn’t been near the beach

Staff not informative when checking in very rushed we didn't even know how to get into the underground car park had to find out by another person staying in the building, an extra $200 cash on arrival we weren't informed about. Bad smell walking into the building. Elevators always delayed. No balcony (fence at door way). No air conditioning 1 small portable fan, and fans on the roof were hopeless. So hot we slept on the lounge room floor with door open as we couldn't sleep on pull out without paying extra. Remotes batteries were flat. No life at all to the room, flat and low energy to the whole building. A very disappointing stay. Thank you to the lady who worked late and brought up an extra fan for us.

Happy enough with the accommodation. The resort's goal is to keep prices competitive at all times, so they do not offer a Daily Room Clean Service. Most guests prefer to forgo this & save money but can be arranged for a extra charge. The thing that really annoyed me however was paying a $200 key charge, which if paid by credit card would take 40 days to get reimbursed. Cleaning could be better too. The views from the units however are spectacular.

Simply put, you get what you pay for. Individually owned apartments means no consistency in what type of room you'll get in which condition, unfortunately for me, my room was on the worse end. Balcony and shower doors jammed, one power point that electrocuted me, floors not fully swept before arrival and visible dirt in prominent areas. Given this, I was offered a room change by hotel management as a solution which was credit to them. The main value of this resort is it's proximity to Cavill Ave, the beach and the main Surfers Paradise area in general. Just treat this hotel just as a place to sleep, not one to enjoy staying in much.

This resort is horrible, had the worst experience, the staff were not helpful at all, our room smelt like sewerage, and all they did to help was pour bleach down the drain, like that's what you want on your holiday? Its seriously the worst place, didn't offer us anything; the shower head was broken the fridge wasn't even on when we put our cold drinks in, was just ridiculous, the parking area Smelt like sewerage, its just disgusting! I wouldnt even give this resort one star, don't take your kids there, its the ghetto!

Checked in on Saturday afternoon staff unhelpful, Went to our room to find beachside meant looking out your window on an angle to see the ocean, no balcony, just a fence blocking the door, rooms were outdated nothing like in the pictures, room was hotter than the Sauna found out they only had ceiling fans we didn't even have chance to look around or use the facilities we wanted out. The place stunk of sewerage, there was someone smoking pot coming straight through our windows, the door looked like its been jemmied open in the past, brought it to the managers attention her name was Elana she was rude had an attitude on her and refused to refund us our first night as it was too late to get more guests in that room. We booked through Wotif so after being thrown back and fourth between the two I went downstairs and sorted in was promised to be refunded the second night, what a cheek when you pay for a service that you don't receive, would be like that manager ordering a pair of shoes and receiving the wrong style and colour, no where did it state there was no airconditioning, it stated ceiling fans but didn't state ONLY ceiling fans, no apologies no sympathy or empathy. We booked with the Novotel as we we had come interstate for our first holiday away in 11 years (since having children).

I booked through Wotif and was amazed to find a Gold Coast hotel at such a good price. I wondered what was wrong with the place, but the reviews were generally positive. So my overall impression is that it is a nice place. It's looking a bit tired in places, but it was clean enough. Added to this is the great facilities they have on offer and it makes it a bargain. The staff were helpful and friendly and came up with the goods when I needed a Trundle bed for my son. I would have given more stars but the tiredness of the rooms took the lustre off for me.

The charming beach is near, the room type I live in can also see half of the coastline, the hotel facilities have a swimming pool. Spa. Barbecue table. Game room, but also complete, but the evening is no counter service Oh!

5 for location. 5 for value. Yes rooms are a bit dated didn't bother us. Lack of air con in our room may be an issue in summer. Wed stay here again 100 percent ocean views amazing wed find air con room.

I booked studio level 8+ ocean view though their website only 105$ per night and I got to stay at top level 18 with fantastic view, the big room with kitchenware and everything, 2 levels for parking and no charge. I don't think I can get any big room with nice view in this price in this area. Great location and Friendly staff. Highly recommend to book the room level 8+ with ocean view.

I found the pictures deceptive. It wasn't so much cheaper than the Mantra on View, there's no a/C, and the room was not only dated and shabby, but quite grubby. Of course the linen was clean and the bathroom had been cleaned, but there were marks on the walls that I am glad I didn't know the origin of… Service was friendly and helpful. Location is brilliant.

Horrible experience! I understand you pay for what you get but the room we stayed in for two days didn't even have a plates or cutlery. Or even a kitchen sink. 2 towels for two guests for a two night stay. It cost an extra $12 for 4 more towels. So you're probably best taking you're own if you are staying for a lengthy amount of time. Rooms are cleaned weekly during your stay if you don't pay extra. paint is chipping away from surfaces especially in the bathroom. Also came across dead bugs in the cupboard with the cups. Awesome location close to the beach but a terrible stay.

Always free popcorn. Cheap rates. Big rooms. No frivolous accessories. But not necessary. Great service. Heated pool. Games room. Sauna… spas. And the Sandbar cafe underneath to eat at. What more could you want for $100 per night.

Everything costs. Want to leave your car in the car park for three hours after check out? Plenty of spaces left. "Ok, it's $10 an hour"… Can't pay for anything with a debit card. Cash or credit only. Was advised that they would hold my security deposit (credit card) for ten days… Rooms are very dated, which is fair enough considering the cost of accommodation. Decent enough location. Overall, one of the less impressive places I've stayed.

Worst place I ever come across. As soon as I got there the stuff were completely rude and bitched about me to other people that were staying there. (Thought I couldn't hear but I could). I was on level 1, I payed a lot of money and I got the shittest room, the spa bath didn't work, all utensils were dirty. I went to reception and asked for another towel and it costs me $3. It's not much but you would think they would give you 2 towels to last 3 days. I DO NOT recommend it to anyone! If I could give it a 0 star rating I would.

Just checked in for our honeymoon & not even remotely impressed. Upon checking in we were told a $200 security deposit was required, the stay was paid in whole via my dad's credit card as our wedding gift, so common sense would say that a security deposit would be taken from that same card so now we're short $200 of our honeymoon money until we check our. The rooms are advertised with really nice modern photos online & our room is old & dirty with stains all over the walls. The balcony is a joke and is just a door with a railing & staff are rude! The only positive is the view is stunning. Won't be returning.

This hotel is located in the heart of the cbd. It is right on the beach. With excellent views if you take the ocean view room. Excellent service. Parking is included which is very convenient. It also a pool, steam, sauna games room and also a gym.

The hotel itself is quite nice. Is cheap and has a great view as it is right on the beach.
The staff, however, are treated lousy, exploited and are therefore unfriendly and cold to the guests. Service is not to be expected here.

I lived for a year at the Chateau Beachside and it was a great experience … It's a nice atmosphere, and all very organized. I loved living there.

Good evening, the room was fine. Please check the sink cold water tap in the bath room as it dosent always turn off. I mentioned this morning to check the foxtel reception as it was very poor and we were unable to watch it! Thanks Steve.

No aircon in the room and no real balcony. Staff on shift the friday we checked in were not helpful and slightly rude. Fold out sofa bed was so uncomfortable we tried to fold it back up so I could just sleep on the normal couch but its locked into place. As the windows were all open due to no aircon the small door from bath to bedroom was continually banging/slamming shut all the time. I think the latch holding it closed wasnt working properly. Pool area was great and three hot tubs — so plenty for everyone! The location is great as it is right on the beach and only a short stroll to cavill and loads of restaurants. Staff on sunday when we checked out were very pleasant and helpful when we left something in the room. Kitchen in room was sufficient and we used it often. I probably wouldnt stay here again as the backpackers working the reception desk when we checked in have ruined any chance of a return. Will try somewhere else next time.

Very nice view and convenient location~~if u want to have frontline ocean view in surfers paradise and don't want to pay the expensive accommodation, Chateau beachside resort is definite your first choice~~although it is not a brand new building, everything is clean and studio is big enough for 2~~very good for budgeting ocean view living in surfers paradise.

Generally nice throughout. I was not a guest, I do some work there occasionally. Place is always well maintained and well presented. Great location. Parking is hard at times.
