Exceptional hostel! All is always clean, tidy. The staff and the manager are very friendly. The bathroom is spacious and clean. Everyone shows respect. The atmosphere is really cool and relaxed. The pool is great. Lots of equipment available. The rooms are clean and spacious. With the anticovid measures we were 3 instead of 8 and it was really appreciable.

Really relaxed place with great management! Would highly recommend!

The best vibes in a Hostel ever.
I arrived to Australia and stay my first. Month and a half in Coolangata YHA hostel. Now, im still going there for visit some people and hang out with some staff. Good rooms, clean and tidy, nice common spaces for share good moment and make new friends! The owners and Staff are so friendly.

Nice place, comfy and very close to the airport and the beach. Staff is very helpfull and cool.

We had a great vacation in Coolangatta, wish we had longer time to enjoy everything it had to offer…

Wow the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hostel! My roommate was a horrible person who as you can imagine was a long termer who worked as a cleaner. Check out is 10am I come in to pack my bag and she’s swearing and moaning and make a big deal and I of course tell the receptionist who says quote “ she has been spoken to about her attitude before I am so sorry” than goes and tells her “friend”. Really unprofessional really rude and really disgusting to make guests and travellers feel that way! If you want a hostel where you are bullied and treated rudely this is the one for you! Avoid at all costs! Find a professional hostel that doesn’t have a bitchy attitude!

Evening receptionist was great Morning one not so good.

Lmao. Walk in rates are 28 dollars. They don't really want locals. It's a sausage fest anyway. Use as a chill zone before u go to the backpack in surfers otherwise why come to the GC. Stay in surfers same price 28 or so. The managers are all wankers. Get your lollies sorted grAB a camera hit up elsewhere (more lollies) stay all-night. Best scene. Proper rumbling deep house Austin club rank 16?

Great little backpackers with in easy walking distance from the airport. Good choice of rooms to suit any budget. The shared rooms have good beds and large lockable lockers to keep all your stuff safe. Even has the powerboards inside so your laptops, cameras and so on are safe while they charge. Lots of things to do with the pool, games room, pingpong table, movie nights with popcorn, pizza night and others. Failing all of that the free shuttle does it's rounds a few times a day to take you to shopping or surfing destinations. The staff were helpful and there was a lot of information and suggestions of things to do if you had extra time. Walking to the shops takes around 20 minutes. Heading toward the beach and walking along it is definately the nicest way to do this. If you are planning on coming back with heavy bags the just put your name on the shuttle pick up list and catch the free shuttle back from the greyhound bus terminal. I spent a few days here before and after shooting a festival. So was very happy with the large space to keep my camera gear safe while I worked In the communal areas :) Highly recommended.

Nice and clean. The fridge could be better (you have to go inside to get your stuffs).

Very basic hostel style accommodation but comfortable. Staff are friendly, helpful & totally honest (ie I dropped my wallet with all my$ at check in, it was returned intact before I even knew it was missing)

The cheapest I could find. 5 (! ) Minutes walk from the airport. Decent rooms no aircon. Cool environment and activities by the hostel. Highly recommended for couple of nights when you land here.

Superb stay for backpackers, up to some extent good for families as well. We could get grocery and cook on our own I’m available kitchen. They had all the utensils and gas available.

Location is near to the high way road and I live in the six man room, The room is quite dirty but you can't expect more on 40aud per day. Roomates are friendly and helpful, if you want to get a touch with new people, there is the best place to go.

Perfectly situated for using the General Aviation apron. The pool was great, but for $36/n (over $200/room) I would expect curtains, and even aircon. Along with the road noise I slept very poorly here.

Did the trick for a night if you have a plane to catch the next day. Old bedding, noisy because of the airport just two steps away. The staff is still very cool. Beach at 500m.

I was between 3-4 and decided to go 4 for the reasons below. — I personally built higher expectations about YHA due my staying in other locations. But Coolangata YHA looked pretty much like any other average hostel. — Kitchen: We had many options for pans but only few oven available for the it's size. I wouldn't blame the hostel for the dirty dishes but I could spot some for a long period of time. — Room: I stayed in a private room/shared bathroom. It was pretty clean when I got there and it has bunch of space to accommodate 2-4 people. — Location: The hostel is literally 7min walk from the airport. That means, if you're not aviation fan, you wouldn't like the noise of airplanes landing/taking off all the time. The international terminal is closer to the hostel so you get pretty much a lot of noise from airplanes turning on their engines when ready for departure. The flights stop by 11pm though so you get a nice sleep until 6-7am. — Free shuttle: That is a big thing for me since I was relying in public transport which can be very expensive depending where you go. They have a spreadsheet where you can write where you go/what time you want to be picked up in certain locations. And again, its free! :) — Internet: You get free internet in the common areas but have to pay if you want it in your room. The internet wasn't working in the first day but it was fine afterwards. Not that fast though.

Great location near Gold Coast airport. Pool is awesome. Have to be early for showers in morning or you will end up having only cold water left.

Perfect place to stay for catching your early or late flight. It has courtesy shuttle to coolangatta.

Old facilities and building. A long walk approx 20minutes from airport. But free shuttle to nearby town during stay and great friendly staff.

This hostel is well situated if you have to catch a flight in the early morning I guess. However, it was super noisy… It's like you are literally on the runway… The place is clean and the staff is very friendly. My room was really spacious, with a table, lockers… Great facilities for a great value but I won't stay again.

We arrived extremely late in the evening, not due to our own faults however. They quickly accommodated us and got us in a room anyway and gave us excellent service. We just needed a simple place to sleep and got us out of the weather. The building is nice, better than most of the hostels we've seen in the area. The other backpackers all seemed to have a good vibe in the air as well. Bathrooms we're clean and showers were pretty nice. Bed was comfortable and room was clean very pleased with that for a hostel. Unfortunately the room had no air-conditioning but the cooler nights made a comfy sleep all the same. If you're just leaving the airport it's a nice spot to drop by if you're still figuring out your direction.

Great cheap accommodation next to the airport. Stayed in a private room, comfortable bed and warm bedding. Really nice friendly staff. Bus between Tweed and Broadbeach runs just over the highway.

The Hostel is located directly at the airport, very outside. Planespotters around would have been a real joy, all the others may be less. Rooms are clean, showers and toilets also. For little money you get Breakfast. City Shuttle bus free of charge back must be the way to find yourself.

Having stayed in many hostels and also having stayed at this one many years ago, I was disappointed. $32 a night this doesn't include Wi-Fi (an extra $5) and breakfast is no longer included. There was also construction happening within the hostel at 8am. Pretty crappy for those with late check in. But overall, the hostel is very clean and safe.

It is near the gold coast airport， but it is far from the town。If you drive，it is a choice。 But if not，it will be an awkward choice。.

A bit far from the centre of sydney. But great YHA.

Have stayed in this hostel twice. It was good the first time I stayed, better the second tim earound. Warren (Manager) had been making significant improvements — new lino in passages and on stairs, painting was being done, fences put up or repaired. Staff worked hard and were friendly. Breakfast included in nightly tariff. Had a single room — this was cozy with everything a person would need.
