Not your boutique hotel by any stretch of imagination, rooms are size of soccer fields with a balcony overlooking the beach dayumm just loved it.

Great hotel, although "only" 3 stars. My experience has been very positive, but I associate myself with some reviews that give the hotel somewhat old rooms. But the hotel is performing modernization work and I happened to have a room with new décor. Clean and spacious bathrooms, spacious, clean rooms, equipped with small furnished terraces from which to enjoy a beautiful view of the city's esplanades. Very welcoming staff and quick and courteous services. There is a small pool at the entrance. Breakfast is nutritious, but if you want cooked dishes you will have to pay extra. It has and laundromat, as is typical in Australia. Great location, a few hundred meters from the center and a 15-minute walk from the harbour. Free Wi-Fi but not particularly fast. Also great for families or large groups. Highly recommended.

The rooms are lovely and very roomy for what you pay. The location of the Cairns Plaza Hotel is fabulous, just a short stroll along the broadwalk into the heart of Cairns but it's out enough for it to be peaceful and relaxing. All the tourist attraction buses come by Cairns Plaza and the staff there are fabulous. Sleep quality was outstanding, totally enjoyed my stay here. If there was anything I would request for next time, it would be could the hotel please supply body lotion to guests as the sun is warm and wouldn't hurt to have some body lotion. Thanks.

Located in the city centre, it is conveniently located about 10-15 minutes drive from the airport.

Restaurants and supermarkets are within a 10-minute walk.

Hotel facilities are relatively old, 4 people room toilet is very fine, cool position design failure, after the water splash into the ground water.

In the evening the waiter is kind and friendly, and makes people happy and warm. Breakfast is quite large, one can eat for two people.

The hotel is just across from the Esplanade, so you can see the ocean and the mountains from the balconies. Service has been uniformly good. The rooms are clean and tidy, with the usual facilities you would expect. There is a pool and laundry at the hotel. Prices are quite reasonable for the location.

Not bad, is the location from the Main Street walk a little far, after all, the nearby hotel is still covered, but the room equipment is clean and comfortable.

Reception staff are very friendly. The hotel is located in an ideal spot for all the restaurants near the port. It took us roughly 10 minutes to walk to the reef fleet terminal to depart for our barrier reef trip. The rooms are nice and clean. We were on the 6th floor and had a little balcony with a nice view. I'd happily stay here again.

Located at convenient location, very clean and value for money.

It was a nice place to stay with a good view on the sea. The only thing was that the place was surrounded by worksides… not very pretty.

The hotel staff are super nice and accommodating. We were able to check in early. We were a party of 5 and got 2 rooms. While both had some of the same issues, one was clearly 'dumpier'. Paint was peeling off the walls in the 'dumpier' room. Handles were falling off doors. Metal connections were rusting. The worst thing however, in both rooms, was the black mold that was all over the bathroom walls, in cracks, and on the side of the shower stall towards the bottom. The mold was also in the actual room on the walls in certain areas. To be fair we did NOT bring this to the attention of the hotel staff so we aren't sure what they would have done to fix it. We were staying less than 2 days and decided it wasn't worth the headache since we had already moved all of our stuff in.

Affordable accommodations right on the Esplanade in Cairns. A short walk to the restaurants, bars, pier and to the casino. The staff were all very nice and healful. We received recommendations on tours to take and places to visit. Lots of great information. The continental breakfast for 9$ is a great deal if you're looking for a quick bite before leaving in the morning. The pool is a tad on the small side but was enjoyed by families every day. The hotel has laundry facilities on site. The rooms are well appointed with a small fridge and a microwave in some rooms. The balcony is a good size and the rooms have AC. The room was clean and comfortable. The TVs are a little small but let's face it, you're not in Cairns to watch TV. 15 minute cab ride from the Cairns Airport.

This place is clean and well kept. Staff is really friendly. Looks like some updates have been made recently but could do with more…

Amazing ocean view from my 6th floor room! Hotel is extremely nice and within walking distance to bars and shops via the boardwalk. Would absolutely recommend staying here and hope to do so again myself on my next visit to Cairns!

Dirty, noisy, with small rooms and indecent meals. I don't recommend it.

Room has basic facilities. Overall is good. Some pp complain breakfast, I think the breakfast is excellent. $9.5 buffet breakfast such a bargain. Big break cook everything perfectly.

Location is good. Beware of the showers. The water flow is adequate for a drinking fountain not a shower. Add to that, the temperature will arbitrarily cycle from scalding hot to warm on its own. Complained but no fix. Worse, no feedback or apology. Avoid at all cost if you have children.

Really nice room with a balcony and a view of the inlet and esplanade. Our bedroom was separate from the lounge/kitchenette. On site parking and the do a nice breakfast there. Would definately stay here again.

The good: our room was perfect. Nothing to complain about there. Good bathroom, nice beds, fast Wi-Fi. The walls didn't let any sound in from our neighbours, who we found out were quite loud when we opened the door. The balcony was also great. The not so good: the receptionist wasn't very friendly and kept to himself even when greeted. It didn't make us feel very welcome. For the price the hotel demands, it's quite far away from most of the restaurants, supermarkets, and the marina. And it's not like we booked an ocean view room. Lastly, as much as I'd hate to complain about something that can't really be changed, this has to be said: the hotel is right next to a backpacker hostel which can be really loud at night. As nice as the balcony was, we weren't very comfortable as we had to listen to the constant noise and screams coming from below. Overall I'd say this hotel is OK, but before coming back I'll be sure to check the competition first.

Definitely a hotel for families. I was traveling alone and had a room with one queen bed and 2 singles. Great views of the ocean and close to the Esplanade restaurants. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I was only in Cairns so I could go to the Great Barrier Reef. Cairns is more for traveling families than the solo traveler.

This has a great location just across from the water front park and a short walk into the tourist area of Cairns. The rooms have been recently remodeled with nice bathrooms. The room I stayed in was huge. It had 3 beds. One king and two twin sized beds. It would be a great place for a family to stay. The staff is really nice and helpful with tourist information.

Rooms OK, convenient location, a little dimly lit, but comfortable.

We found all the staff to be very friendly and accommodating with our requests. Big shout out to Flora at the restaurant and Megan at reception. The room was spacious enough for us 3 and the hotel is directly across from the Muddy's playground (great if you have kids with you).

Had an Ocean View room and the view was great! Wi-Fi was particularly bad in the bedroom area, would constantly lose the signal and re-aquire it. The AC was also a little weak for the two rooms, my wife and I basically didn't use any sheets. Overall an okay room with a great location.

You don't get what are you paying for! The staff is great and friendly. There are also some parking slots for your car. Everything is reachable in 15min by walking. The room is mostly clean, but not the special hard points like on top of the door or on top of the shower. There is no rubbish bin in the room and no thing to hang up your wet towels. The facilities have to be tighten, lots of theme are lose. Anyway, the breakfast is the biggest joke for that price. It starts with the cheap 90ct toast and ends with the choices: jams. Where is some meat or cheese? The whole breakfast is as cheap as possible. I think there are better places for that money. : (

Fun place to visit when in cairns.

The staff was nice and the breakfast was good. The location was convenient enough for us to walk everywhere but not in a loud traffic area. There was a nice park across the street and the pool was nice. The beds were a bit hard though and the rooms a bit tight for 4 people.

Rooms were great, has a great view. Being right closer to the water and the boardwalk was nice.

I have lived here for 3 nights. Lovely suit and two open balcony with excellent ocean view, nice service and beautiful swimming pool. Good location and convenientlocation for everything. Only $21 from Cairn Airport by taxi.

We had two rooms. One standard and one suite (family room). It was basic but nice. Good location, really friendly and accommodating staff, and nice clean and spacious rooms. Perfect for what we needed.

Great First impression — Great customer service to start… The rooms are pretty everything else is dated, Location is good and they held our bags on our arrival, however customer service went downhill fast we had a pre paid room with Expedia and Paid extra $50 person rate — per day (3 people travelling) they offered only 2 breakfasts and after much complaint offered only 3 cold breakfast as a compromise — an Extra breakfast would have cost the hotel $10per day but as we had booked for 3 people and on our receipt says full breakfast — one would assume that it was for all staying. Unfortunately it is the attitude of the staff that has let this hotel down… I feel they have taken advantage of us as they feel we are 3 young girls travelling so it doesn't matter — Despite our age We are all experienced travellers and know the expectations in customer service and as 2 of us work in the industry we will remember this poor experience when recommending hotels to others when we return to work.

This is a lovely hotel with beautiful view if you are staying at higher floors. Its close to everything.
