I had the pleasure of dining in Burnt Sugar restaurant last night. The place was almost at capacity yet the service was excellent, food was delicious and very friendly helpful staff. Thank you for such a lovely experience and congratulations on bringing the restaurant back to life. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Fabulous new menu amd delicious food but room service only due to Covid-19 They have diversified and are doing gourmet take aways for the locals using the full Restaurant menu. Well done guys.

I was there a few nights ago, the chef and waitress were wonderful, food was lovely. The way the the current manager was speaking to them was disgusting and very unprofessional, especially as we could see and overhear her raised voice.

We arrived about 5pm and was happy to pay the extra at a more upmarket motel. Sadly disappointed no windows to look out of apart for one in bathroom, the shower didn't work properly and no hot water just felt like being in a cell.

Not a very friendly welcome from Receptionist she must of had a bad day, I was tired and wanted a late departure but it was to much trouble after waiting feels like 5 mins I nominate 10am, didn’t mention anything else even about Lilly’s restaurant the room was nice the shower was crazy, water everywhere no exhaust fan. Noisy in morning, people upstairs I thought were going to come through my ceiling it was a bit to early for me to wake up.

The room was pleasant and clean but the shower was really difficult to maintain a constant temperature. I spent more time out of the shower trying to get the temperature right. The biggest problem came when I had to let my husband in an outside door and I accidentally stepped out of my room without the automatic key. I went down to reception a few minutes before it was due to close but too late. I found an after hours mobile number and rang that several times over 45 minutes and left messages. A friend suggested I put a message on Facebook. Someone did arrive and open the door. I asked the next morning what would have happened if I hadn't put the message on FB. The woman informed me they were not available after the office closed and we would have been shut out of the room for the night. Seriously not good enough!

Staff are outstanding, friendly and accommodating. Rooms are neat, large and clean. Thank you for housing us while the higway was closed!

Our room is an oven. 5 hours of continuous air conditioning and it is still stifling. To be fair, the dinner was great and the room is newly updated.

Very disappointed with the restaurant, the service was slow and the orders were stuffed up, was not told about the specials menu until after we ordered, extremely long wait for drinks, and when I complained to management I was told my complaint would be taken on board as she walked away. Will not return.

Beds comfy. Shower was horrible, always changing temperature, and water ran under the screen. But otherwise good.

A big thank to the staff assisting all the Emergency Services during cyclone Debbie made things easy to book in and out and were helpful making the experience a lot better rooms were great and well serviced and meals were great thank you.

Dave and I went for dinner in their restaurant and could not fault it, friendly staff, fantastic food and great atmosphere. We have rebooked for our anniversary next month can't wait. Cathy and Bill are just wonderful, warm and engaging. Totally recommend this local establishment.

Awful service (apart from the young man), we waited an hour and a half for food with no apology, normally wouldn't complain if we were told there was a wait on food, ordered an entree and never received and no apology for that either. Would not return.

Easily the best motel in Ayr. But they still have that issue of the shower water not being contained, due to the very open design of the bathrooms. Great food in the restaurant under the motel — just don't expect to turn up after 2000 expecting food!

Good food and friendly staff (apart from who I assumed was the manager), however, said manager came in and flat out insulted me half way through my breakfast. I had come in just before the kitchen was closed, I was unsure of the closing time to start with, and said that it was fine and I understand that the kitchen is closing (I am a cook myself and know how this feels to have a customer walk in 5 minutes before close). The manager and cook insisted so I came in to eat. Half way through my meal the manager came in with a quite sour look on her face and asked me rather uncouthly; "Do you have a problem with the times? " and expressed with the attitude of a two year old that I had told them I was "Pissed Off" with the opening times. I was genuinely confused as I had said no such thing. The old sultana continued to stand there and insult me. I had none of it, so I aplogised to the cook who had taken the time to prepare my meal when she was closing for not eating the food and walked out without paying. However, if you can put up with old winded bags making a big farce of nothing, the food is quite good and kitchen very clean.
