Good, solid, reasonably priced hotel. Clean, good location re: transport. Decent sized rooms and good customer service.

Lovely atmosphere, fair sized rooms. Very close to light rail services. Can't complain considering it's 3 star.

Open courtyard between rooms, for good communal gathering with people in other rooms. Rooms themselves not high quality, but not expected to be at these prices.

The place was full of bed bugs and a light was hanging out of the bathroom roof. Good location but definitely not a quality place to stay. Bathroom also had mild on the roof.

Nothing too fancy, but nice clean sheets and convenient location.

Avoid this place. No shower screen and no water! Went to shower after being at concert and no water! Had to checkout because couldn't fix shower and no other rooms. 3 people in room but only 2 towels and 2 mugs. Was told it was up to us to fully check the facility on arrival. Really! 3 people, 3 of everything. It's that simple. Only thing positive is location to train.

Clean. Well priced. Easy enough to get to. Quieter than I expected being on such a busy road. Staff were polite. Interior courtyard is a great idea but could do with more 'garden' to reflect the name, though it was very well maintained.

Went there to book a room, the service was absolutely appalling. All I asked was if we could book a room the person behind the counter walked away, shook her head and didn’t come back. What a shame, I’m sure the rooms would’ve been nice but I didn’t even get the chance to see all because of the terrible customer service. Time to hire new people I think!

Clean and welcoming. Bed had a cheap mattress. Small things missing — no bathroom face cloth. No free water. Small things that I've come to expect in similar priced hotels that just make the difference.

A good location and very handy to public transport. The rooms were comfortable and the traffic on Parramatta Road didn't bother me at all. There is a convenience store next door and a few good places to eat nearby on the southern side of Summer Hill station.

Clean, well located, good facilities, good staf — I'll be back for sure.

Clean and sufficient rooms, super friendly staff, great location close to public transport and incredibly QUIET considering location.

The location of the hotel is very good. There are 2 train stations nearby with which you can reach the city centre in about 15 to 20 minutes. Right next door there is a petrol station with a 24/7 shop and the next Woolworth in a large shopping centre is also only a 15 minute walk away. The hotel is located right on a main street but our room was well-insulated.
In the hotel itself there is a nice lobby with snack vending machine. There is also a free use of crockery and cutlery, as well as microwave, toaster and oven.
Breakfast is offered for 12 dollars, but we prefer to get food from the supermarket.
The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Has always asked us if we need anything else for our baby — so very child-friendly.
The rooms and the bathroom were very clean, only the Badfugen could be renewed.
There were plenty of free parking spaces protected by 2 gates with pin code.

I booked the room reading the good reviews. Just booked for one night to realise after entering the room that its the worst mistake I could ever do in Sydney. They gave me a room in the extreme corner, Wi-Fi not >20kbps inside room, worn off bath towels, tiny bathroom which was just tidied for namesake, neither had any mats or curtains inside bathroom, no drinknig water or mini bar in fridge, faulty air conditioner which does not work according to the temperature you set… I checked out with reception about AC and Wi-Fi, and they told thats the standard data network and temperature available. I visit Sydney often for official purposes since an year, and opt for less expensive hotels to manage my budget, but never have experienced this miserable scene.!

Good value for money, quiet and easily accessible with internal parking. A bit outdated but to sleep more than good!

Excellent value for money. Clean with all basics provided. Car park was a bonus.

Very accommodating, we arrived very late and even though they err closed they made it accessible fit me. Great place just like walking into the 70's but I loved it.

Standard accommodation, decent location and good links to get into Sydney. Room is standard for the price nothing special but comfortable beds and pillows.

Rooms were basic and clean but the bathroom was a bit grubby. Nothing a good clean wouldnt fix. The room walls are thin so if there are noisy guests you will hear them. Generally good value for money and close to transport to the CBD.

The only negative is the poor sound insulation, in any case of the room we occupied. Good proximity to train and tram stations. I recommend!

Lovely 3 star motel, close to bus, rail and light rail for easy convenience to the city. The rooms are nice but not fancy. The ensuite looks quite new with a shower but no bath/spa. There is a large atrium that works as a lounge area.

Clean good room service and worth my money staying here still here at the moment also I like the garden area inside and the parking for my car as its all locked in with gates I find everyone really nice especially the Australian receptionist last night and the lady's on room service this morning.

Money Hungry Motel… I placed a reservation at 6am for a room that night, Due to a family emergency I had to cancel the reservation at 1.07pm. As Garden Lodge Check-in time is 1pm I was hoping to have a quick and easy cancellation. Not from a cheapskate motel… Even though they have 5 more spa rooms vacant, they are trying to charge me $50 cancellation fee. Usually I dont have an issue with the fee as the fee is their to compensate if the rooms are all taken… But in my case they weren't as there was more vacant rooms available than taken ones. If this is their example of customer service then this is one place everybody should be definitely avoiding… as at the end you'll be paying more than your nightly charge A place that treats you as a important customer is Cambridge Hotel… They have a philosophy of giving to their client rather than Golden Lodge's cheat and manipulating ways… Do yourself a favour and avoid this place unless you like being ripped off!

Very well priced, pleasant surrounds, friendly staff and secure off road parking. The Garden Lodge is well located for access to the city and other suburbs.

Great value for money, helpful staff and close to train station. Definitely be back.
