Noisey location with trains, toilet cracked & didn’t flush properly, ceiling to low for my partner who didn’t even fit on the bed either as he’s too tall for it. Expensive price for what it is. Wouldn’t recommend!

Small but tidy room. Breakfast Included is a bonus! Nice entrance area. On the corner of a busy road. Next to train line so a bit noisy. Good location. Alcohol and snack vending machines. Wi-Fi good!

Great hotel for a cheap stay in city. We always use here when we party too late in the city. Not flash or fancy but if you want a bed for the night this will do.

A budget accomadation in a decent location. Most places with similar price have shared facilities. A bit too noisy being above a train line but free breakfast and Wi-Fi.

Great budget city outskirts alternative. Room 14 is a well priced great family space with a large lounge room, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Basic but convenient breakfast was a bonus and walking distance to Redfern station made travel into the city easy.

-Walls very thin. -squealing noises from within building, near room 61, made it very difficult to sleep at night. -Toilet seat was faulty. -Air con unit didn't even turn on -spoons never changed -bathroom mirror not cleaned daily. -location near city was good -easy check in/out.

The continental breakfast and service was great but the rooms felt budget for sure. Get what you pay for here. Not bad but not great. Staff were great however.

Well, dirty. Flush, shower door and bathroom door all broken. Woken by next room showering in morning (walls paper thin). Song Hotel Sydney may be a little more expensive but is well worth it.

Did not enjoy my stay at this hotel. The hotel is geared to more back packers than business travellers. We arrived in the morning but could not check in until mid-afternoon, not an issue as I do understand the reasons. The room was very small and a little grimy. The bed linen was clean, but everything else had that worn, very used look about it. Im not suggesting they dont clean it, but it reminded me of those old Victorian little window panes, where there is a centre oval part of the window thats actually clean but all the corners are dirty. It has been cleaned but only to the minimum. As mentioned the rooms are small (prison cell size), they do have everything in there but not quite to Scandinavian standards. The "double" bed was basically shoved in the corner with barely walking room to one side. The bed also had the air conditioning unit above the head of the bed… which then dripped on my face during the night. I mentioned this to the hotel staff, their solution? Change the timer on the AC so that it wasnt on during the night, GENIUS! One positive was the shower water pressure, that was enough to take skin off. It kind of added to the impression that you were in a prison being hosed down every morning. Im not going to be staying here again — but if you're OK with all the above, the location wasnt bad and once you accepted you were in there (like prison) and just got on with it, it became less intolerable.

Dirty, noisy, very small bed, poorly maintained, full of back packers, reception. No people skills, gave us a key for a room that wasn’t ready even though we was well past check in time. Listen to music from nearby bar till the early hours. Trains constantly running. Would not recommend to anyone.

Location good, 20min walk to center, but in one side a big road and in the other the train rails, so expect a noisy room. Breakfast… really bad (cereals, bread and the worst coffee you can ever have). Rooms are really small, you'll barely be able to fit the luggage. It gets an extra start only for being close to the center, but price/quality is bad.

The hotel well, not very nice the place where it is located! Away from the center.

Rooms are congested. Problems with bathrooms. Air conditioners don't work properly. Don't have enough staff to run the hotel. Breakfast menu is pathetic.

Worked well for a place to sleep. Rooms are small, but it was no issue with 3 people. View wasn't bad either.

Stayed here for work. They booked it because it's cheap. One step above a hostel. It's OK, but 3 weeks is too long to stay here.

Very affordable stay in Sydney. The place is very tidy and clean, rooms are also very tidy and clean. I have stayed there many times.

This is a good value for money. There are things that could be done better here, like the daily cleaning of the room, the breakfast, and fixing some overall things in the room. However, I highly recommend this hotel if you want a friendly staff, a good night of sleep (bed is reasonably good here), a place close to the subway/metro station, and a cheaper price compare to Sydney hotel standards. I enjoyed it.

This hotel was earlier known as Y South Hotel and seems along with the name many other factors have changed too but not for good. The Wi-Fi sucks in here now and doesn't​ allow to work properly. The washroom had spider webs when I booked in. Washbasin has some dirt mark which doesn't wash off or removed. And similar issues related to the ventilation etc. When I visited first it was quite good. Now it's disappointing.

Very small rooms, and the air conditioning and TV did not work. Bathrooms only have a sliding screen door which does not offer much privacy. Breakfast was only cereals, toast and drinks. However price was good and this is an okay place for travellers.

1st impressions are not great from outside the hotel but the staff were great, welcoming and helpful. The rooms are very small and sparse but clean and honestly for me it's just a place to sleep this is not my vacation in the hotel. Complimentary continental breakfast is made up of cereals, toasts, juices and coffee/tea. The hotel is definitely situated directly next to a train tracks so I would suggest earplugs, also the walls are a little things so a snorer next door could be disturbing. All in all comfortable for the needed purpose but you get what you pay for. I was ecstatic to have a private bath for just a bit more than a dorm hostel.

A friend (Simon) and I stayed here. This hotel left me both shocked and disappointed. First it was a 3 night stay, originally I believed that the unit we'd booked would be 2 separate rooms connected, (twin rooms it was listed as not twin beds. ) During our final stay we were comped an extra room due to our room having electrical problems, however the staff didn't update the computer system and handed out VALID door cards to Simon and my rooms to some other random patrons. This is a huge safety issue, I don't want to think what could happen if this occurred with a sleeping young woman in the room and some unsavoury man was given the card. Speaking of the door cards, we went through about 10 (no exaggeration) of them over the space of 3 days they would either work once and then not again or they would just not work we had to constantly travel down the elevator to acquire new ones luckily we were not stuck outside the hotel late at night with no working card. The state of the rooms was inadequate the blankets had stains on them that were covered with a sheet, the shower door was broken (needed to be pulled off the rails to move open and close. ) The bathroom door was also broken but door is a loose term it is more of a divider offering no sound proofing. The toilet required 2 or 3 flushes to clear. The elevator always smelled like a mixture of cigarettes smoke and body odour. We heard guests screaming in the halls many times.

Poor location, far from the CBD, small rooms, dirty rooms at rear of train, so noisy, staff unprofessional look like small workshops, bad experience, night more than more than 200 very worth it, if you are a tourist, you live in giant in a bad mood, bad review does not recommend!

Book direct from website, it's much cheaper. Free Wi-Fi finally works! Simple breakfast with variety of jams & cereals. Very clean, modern. TV, hairdryer, iron, toiletries provided and very good housekeeping. Stayed in one room ensuite. Great value. Good location.

Very disappointed. For the price, $289 for a Saturday night, it was well below standard. Very tiny room with old, tired decor. The small balcony outside our window was filthy and covered in cigarette butts. Advertised as breakfast included but this consisted only of cereal or toast. Never again!

Very small rooms. The bed is to small for two persons, the rooms are not really clean. The train traffic is very noisy the whole night. I'm Hotel what woke us up all night it is very noisy due to the trains. We found strange hair in the room. You can hear the neighbours through the wall. The bathroom is very small there is no door to the bedroom. Smell in the lobby and the hallways there was a muffeliger smell in the room. The bed was only from one side access and is too small for two persons one is then up to the cold wall. Also, the bed is too short, I'm not big but my feet were hanging over it. The fridge was noisy and ran out when we made it. The area around the hotel is dirty, loud and scary at night.

Rooms tiny (in the bathroom can make only the door, not sitting on the toilet, can be put no two suitcases in double room on the ground without falling in, the double bed is accessible from one side only), the area is something shady (is the staff behind a glass panel to protect? ), the trains running directly in front of the window (literally, very loud), no Wi-Fi, the other guests are very noisy. After all, the car can be parked at a reasonable price (AUD 20 per night) in the underground car park.

This place is a real find and is way better value than the Y Hotel Hyde Park. It is within easy walking distance from Railway Square at Central and for $60 I was able to get a modern, very small but comfortable double room, tastefully furnished and with ensuite, TV, fridge, air-con and breakfast included. Note the prices change on a daily basis — the guy at reception told me it went up to $100 per night weekends or even higher depending on demand. I booked through Agoda. They offer free luggage storage for day of discharge (which even a lot of the backpackers don't) and the breakfast is very basic — ie juice, cereal, toast and spreads. But seriously, I don't have anything much different at home and it is great just to be able to get on with your day. I have recommended it to a few people who must travel to Sydney and they love it.

Friendly staff, small and cheap, but exactly what you pay for.

Three star hotel and that's what you get. Yes it's small but your right beside central. Yes you can hear a bit of rumble from the trains but they don't run all night. We had a 7 week old baby and no drama's from the hotel staff. Actually the staff were very nice. Fridge, TV and a small but very good quiet air-con. Would be more stars but could use a deep clean. Overall good would go back and book directly with hotel think I paid a bit more with third party site.

Not great. It was what I paid for I guess. At $99/night, I guess I couldn't expect great service, but the room was tiny and it felt very cramped.
