We enjoyed our stay. Julie at the desk was just lovely and soo helpful.
Great location. Train station really close. Clean and comfortable.
Coffe station 24 hours is fabulous and fruit and pastries handy.
It’s small but well laid out. Overall a fun stay.

Provided just what we wanted for a short stay. Efficient booking system. Receptionists who always made time to greet us. Our room on floor six was excellent, comfortable bed and excellent shower. Hotel tastefully decorated. Healthy breakfast was a bonus. Value for money and so handy to Central Station.

We stayed one night here. Reception was excellent and let us book in an hour early as room was ready. Fabulous location near Central and amongst restaurants and bars. All very safe to walk around. Has amazing feel much better than the city.
The room is simple and functional and the bathroom huge.
Woke up not feeling 100%. Reception without hesitation offered me an, extra hour which was amazing on their behalf.
This will be my definite go to and referral hotel in the future. Wish we could stay another day.

Tiny room, sure. But very well laid-out and didn’t feel at all cramped, and perfectly clean. Double bed is a proper double bed and reeeeallly comfortable. Excellent location. Staff could not have been more charming and helpful, esp when generously letting me hang in the lobby area drinking coffee while technically checked out but between work engagements. Good value for the price and location. Recommended.

Stayed in this hotel in Aug 2008 and when I returned home, I discovered I had been bitten by bed bugs! Absolutely disgusted and horrified. Am still dealing with this issue as the bugs travelled back to my home. Was asked for feedback, which I provided and got absolutely no response whatsoever. Will not stay at this hotel again and I actively do not recommend it to my friends. Do not stay at this hotel.

Amazing place, very close to central station and fantastic restaurants in the vicinity are a big add on. Top notch guest service and loved having Nespresso coffee cool and quirky lobby.

Big fan of this hotel. The staff are great, the rooms aren’t big or have every mod con but have everything you need, the free coffee & muffins/ pastries or water of a morning are a lifesaver. Great location and comfortable. Not often you say this about a hotel but just a cool fun hotel that not the same as all the rest. Well priced for what it is.

The staff here are friendly and caring and really go out to make your stay pleasant. The rooms are spotless and I was near the elevator in 611 but I would not have known it. Hotel located minutes from public transport, cafes, restaurants and bars. I cannot say anything is wrong with this place.

Keen to feel like a criminal? Well hotel 57 is the place for you! My fiance and I made a booking and prepaid for the room but were delayed by at least an hour because the staff decided to be obstinate and obtuse instead of working with us to clear up a minor auto fill error. In my experience with check in the most crucial details are that your credit card details used to pay for the room match the one you present at the front desk at the time of check in… well at hotel 57 you better make sure that your check in name on your booking confirmation also matches so don't use any auto fill provided by agoda or booking. Com. Is a drivers licence enough? What about about if you have the booking code, the receipt, you have the same email and mobile number as they have in their record. Well no folks… You are still entirely stuffed but now you will receive a good dose of attitude like you are a wet rat asking for shelter from the storm. Instead of being transparent and saying "we just need to be cautious so we are going to ring your mobile as a confirmation of identity" no no… Instead we will scurry into our office and phone you in secretly and see if you answer your phone. To top it off, after being incredibly rude and making us late for our meeting, when they finally give us our room keys they say "well hopefully you learnt your lesson.

If the price is right then you won’t be disappointed. I stay here often when working in Sydney. Don’t expect views — it is your basic very clean and reliable hotel with good Wi-Fi, fast check in and good coffee and pastries for breakfast. I always have a quiet room. The prices fluctuate a lot due to demand but I get it. I will be back often. Bonus feature is the disco ball lift. Love it!

This was my first trip to Australia, as well as out of the continental United States. The hotel was great. Loved the atmosphere of the hotel and the area. I was in town on business for a week, and though I left extremely tired, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would stay again if the price is right. The rooms are somewhat bare bones, but still very comfortable. The bathroom was pretty nice though. It was a little strange for me though, with no curtains looking out into the city. I would hope that the windows are sufficiently reflective both night and day.

The rooms are relatively small, but more than enough for one person. The staff are friendly, there's an endless supply of free (refrigerated) bottled water and the rooms are clean. Which is probably the most important part. One wierd thing that I'm not sure is only relevant to my room, but that when I turn the bathroom light on, the fan goes on. Normal right? But when I turn the light off, it stays on for what feels like forever. Might not seem like a big issue, but my bed is right near the bathroom (inches away) and the fan is super loud. Eventually it became white noise, but it took some adjusting. Besides that, the hotel is pretty cool. Good location with plenty of places to eat and drink close by.

Clean and tidy hotel. Convenient short walk from Central Station which itself is only several stops from the airport. Staff are friendly and helpful. No tea/coffee facilities in the room — you have to go down to the lobby to use the machines there… rather inconvenient, I'd say.

Very small room but without joking it will have been little 6mq. The shower and the bathroom were bigger. We weren't in the suitcases. It seemed to be in the movie cockpit! Breakfast.

We stayed here when we needed somewhere to stay at the last minute and it was great. I left something behind at the hotel that I think most places would just throw out but they emailed me to check I hadn't forgotten it! Also there was a disco elevator which was fun.

The hotel is really beautiful and elegant just a few steps from the centre of Sydney. Breakfast is really poor but in a great location. Spacious rooms.

Great location, walking distance to Central station, so it's easy to get to from the airport via train. Near lots of food options. Room was tiny and so was the bathroom. The air conditioning wasn't very effective and I found it uncomfortable. The room was very simple and didn't have a wardrobe. The only window in the room is in the bathroom which faced a blank white wall. Free coffee any time of day in the lobby is a bonus. Free pastries for brekkie. Top marks for the gym. You get access to a fully functioning gym round the corner. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Visited a friend staying here for a few days. Rooms are small but adequate and good value. Nice cafe in the lobby.

Great place to stay. Very modern. Free bottles of water and tea and coffee. Close to train. My only concern was being on the ground floor make sure your room is level one or higher otherwise the noise from the foyer will drive ya nuts.

Staff was very friendly. Unlimited water coffee tea everyday! Rooms were stuffy. Had drainage problem. No windows in any rooms. A glass door in the room where they put up a bathroom! Very basic and no cupboards in the room too. You have to live out of your bag! In CBD so proximity to stations and sight seeing venues. Breakfast had minimal croissant with egg glazing. Not recommend for vegetarians.

Great hotel only a short walk away from Central Station. The complimentary breakfast included Nespresso coffee and pastries. Staff were very helpful and replied quickly to some questions emailed before my arrival. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The only feature I didn’t like was that the toilet/shower area had a sliding glass door and curtains instead of a proper door.

Once I got over the shock of how small my room was, the experience wasn't actually too bad. The staff were friendly and professional, the room was clean and efficiently laid out, and the location of the hotel was fantastic for proximity to restaurants and pubs. There was no fridge or tea/coffee in my room, but bottled water and a coffee machine is always available downstairs in the lobby.

Really nice lobby and staff in a great location but rooms are a little small and dark. It doesn't matter if you're not planning to stay in your room much though. They offer some breakfast items and hot drinks to take away in the mornings.

Helpful staff, and you can't beat the location right near the central train station. I feel like they should put "there is no real door between the bed and the bathroom" in big letters in their web site, though.

Staying for work. Was like staying in a cupboard. Carpet tiles on the floor. Small single bed. I am 170cm and my feet were almost over the end of the bed.

Everything necessary for an overnight stay or two. Quiet (though no windows), comfortable and cosy; rooms are not large. The location is good for eats and drinks. Pastries supplied in the morning don't seem fresh, but the coffee machine is great. Cold bottled water is complimentary. No fridge in the room so I paid extra for one. I ended up never using it so maybe they know something. Some of their ideas seem a little unorthodox, but I think they have carefully thought threw what guests do and don't need; which is admirable. Good value for money.

This is a great hotel with free pastries in the morning and free bottled water and coffee/tea available all day. It is a few minutes walk to Central station, very convenient to go anywhere in the Sydney area. The staff was great and room was clean. Maybe just one suggestion for improvement: make the shower curtain longer so that it reaches the floor. Otherwise, we would definitely stay here again.

Very clean, quiet rooms. Stayed 4 nights for work and was very comfy. The free water/coffee/tea in the lobby 24/7 is a great touch. Very close to Central Station so getting around is easy. Will definitely stay again.

The hotel is great. It's in a good location with nice staff and a quirky design. The only thing I would like would be a kettle in the room however there are tea and coffee facilities in the lobby.

Great location. Stayed in a king room which was perfect for our stay. In room ipad was great for checking local places to eat, drink etc and the foyer coffee lounge area was great. We booked a late check out but staff knocked on our door asking when we were checking out. We had to wake up and tell them we had booked late check out which for some reason wasn't in their system? besides that I would stay here again.

My husband and myself have just returned home after a two night stay at 57… our contact with the staff prior to our arrival was exceptional and it remained so during our stay. The lift had issues when we arrived but this was all handled with ease and calm. The room was quirky and although a little tight it was more than adequate for our stay. The pastries with coffee facilities and free bottled water were all appreciated as were the lollies in the foyer! It's location to Central was so handy and by the end of our stay we really got our heads around the comings and goings… the only little inconvenience was probably the distance from the car parking but we will return for sure — highly recommended.

The toilet is a little uncomfortable, the toilet bowl was designed for disable usage (Room 104). The toilet is bowl is slightly higher than normal toilet bowl. 2. The room is without window.

PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING at 57 Hotel Unauthorised room charges Warning for future guests prior to booking with 57 Hotel. The hotel deducted $330 from my credit card for alleged room damage that was already present prior to our stay. The hotel claimed we caused burn marks to the bathroom porcelain basin. We noticed this damage when checking in as it was obvious an attempt had been made previously to repair the basin. After checking out, the hotel charged our credit card without contacting us for any comment before deducting the charges. When we called the hotel to ask for an explanation, they were very abrupt and not willing to resolve the dispute. We followed up by sending a formal “show cause” letter to the hotel that they failed to respond to. Further contact was made and the hotel falsely claimed they tried to call prior to the transaction. That was easy to disprove after we followed up and received records from our phone carrier. Should you elect to use this hotel, we recommend you thoroughly check the room upon entry and report any damage no matter how small and especially if there was evidence of a previous repair. The hotel will have no grounds to charge you for previous damage if you report it on check-in and I now regret that I assumed because a repair had been made I wouldn’t get charged for damages caused by a prior tenant. As far as staying there again, I would rather sleep on the street and donate my hard earned money to a charity.

Cute, funky, intimate, chic; and has hands-down the best hotel staff I've ever encountered. From check-in to departure, I've never felt more welcome at a hotel. Genuinely friendly and attentive team will make your stay a dream.

Great location. Fun neighborhood with lots of restaurants and easy access to fabulous transit system. Rooms very comfy. The staff was very helpful and always cheerful. The tea/coffee area was a nice perk. We would return.

As a regular traveller to Sydney, 57 Hotel provides a great little home away from home. It's ultra cool makeover, little extras and clever use of the space makes for a stylish boutique hotel experience at a fraction of its more expensive counterparts. The rooms, whilst not enormous, further deliver on that ethos. The addition of bowls of free lollies like Redbacks and Fantails just seals the deal.
