Jumped on red balloon to purchase the ‘date night ‘ package well was a little underwhelmed by it on arrival I informed the staff at desk that I was just checking in and going straight to the drive in as movie was due to start well park of the package was strawberries and cream and tequila shots on arrival she I assumed we would be offered those after the movie or it would be in put room. We returned from the movie and ducked up to the room no sign of them but we were going to be late for dinner booking so went strait to restaurant. After being seated we were given regular menus we looked them over and staff asked for our order I let her know we had the date night where she apologised and gave us a set menu with 3 mains and 3 desserts to choose from this was disappointing I can have lasagne or parmigiana any night at home and we were looking forward to other things on the menu that I had looked up earlier.
We were given garlic bread and our meals came although they were nice hubby had the chilli crab pasta which had no chilli and barely any crab we were just finishing our mains and I could see chef preparing desserts an they were sitting on the pass when waitress cleared our table our desserts came immediately which meant they weren’t really warm and icecream was melted.
We did enjoy the meal but was definitely looking forward to something else.
At this point we were full so I didn’t ask staff about the tequila and strawberries because they would have been wasted.
The room was nice facilities adequate, shower was rather disappointing as head didn’t spray properly.
We didn’t get the opportunity to have breakfast as toddler at home was upset so we left early. But as I checked out staff informed me that I owed money for dinner I had paid for the drinks after we ate and she then said that date night package covers $80 and ours was $95 we only ordered of the set menu that was offered and staff did say that it included garlic bread and 1 main 1dessert each so although it’s not much it was just something that a customer should be informed of.
I normally don’t complain but with 4 kids a night out is near impossible and when it’s not what we hoped it makes the experience more of a downer.
My suggestion outline the set menu and any extra charges on red balloon or when people book and staff should offer the inclusions or at least ask when you would like them if package says on arrival staff should know what is offered and ask customer when to provide them.
