Top little restaurant to see some live music and throw back a bottle of schnappes. And Some amazing face carvings in the tree out front.

Terrible service! My husband and I had called up well in advance and cancelled our booking however candlelight lodge still charged our credit card the full amount. Put simply we have been robbed! When we tried to talk to the staff about this they were rude, arrogant and unprofessional! When we spoke with Annie after reporting to fair trading she made an offensive and ridiculous offer at a poor attempt to justify the situation and even said to my husband ‘if we came we would not have a good time’. I honestly can not believe the shocking and distasteful level of customer service by Annie and the staff at candlelight lodge; I am extremely offended and turned off from their actions! Spent New Years Eve at Candlelight Lodge, the food was amazing and the staff were so friendly and accommodating, would thoroughly recommend.

The Restaurant is honestly the worst food I have ever eaten anywhere. Tasteless well & truly overpriced & I’ve honestly got no words for how bad this food was.

Great place to stay. Been coming for a few years now, and always welcoming. Safe MTB storage too. Currently staff are looking after me extremely well — a broken mountain biker.

A hidden gem in Thredbo — Great food! Very welcoming and helpful staff, great bar, and outdoor area with open views of the mountains. And, not to be forgotten — A top notch selection of beer and schnapps! Highly recommended.

The team were very happy to accommodate an earlier booking so we could take the young kids. Kids meals had good variety and they loved trying Spatzle for the first time. Cheese fondue was epic and it’s great to see not much has changed in 30years (in a good way! ). This will be an annual visit for us now whenever we come to Thredbo — as it was when is was a kid.

Excellent food,. However worst service I have experienced in my life. Restaurant was not busy at all,. However could not get anyone to help us with our drink or desert orders.

Had a fabulous meal @ candlelight restaurant in Thredbo — top quality stuff — make sure you go there next time you are in the snowy — gods value as well and a really cosy bar with great German beers.

Only went to the restaurant we were staying nearby. To be honest we went here as it was too cold for our group to go further but it turned out to be really good luck for us. We ordered a Tomahawk steak and a shared chicken dish between 6 of us and it was amazing, really well cooked and yummy flavors. They have some really nice beers too. Staff were friendly and owner stopped to talk to us about the beers. Will definitely go again next year.

In the heart of the Thredbo Village there is nothing better than the warm greeting of friendly staff in the perfect location, and a warm inviting lodgements they provide. The homely feel from the first moments in preparation for the snow covered valley outside your balcony doors.

Accomodation is getting a little bit tired but clean and tidy with good friendly service. Good views of the ski slopes from windows and handy to all the town amenities. Only 3 parking sites available otherwise you will need to park in the overnight parking lot at the bottom.

The staff were very nice, friendly and accommodating, lovely view of the mountains! Restaurant closed during the off season though but plenty of places to eat just a quick walk away.

Cosy place with super friendly staff. Great views of the mountain and in a central location convenient for just about everything. We enjoyed the sauna and ping pong table too. I would stay there again.

Location was very good as it's right in the middle of the village, short walking distance to the chairlift. However there are only 3 parking spaces available outside the lodge so we had to park a 5 minute walk away which was annoying. The view from the room was excellent. However, the decor inside the rooms is outdated, and we were there in Summer and no fly screen on the windows meant flies kept coming in, and there is no air con so we had a very hot uncomfortable night.

Nice friendly staff. Room was clean, spacious and with a nice view. We went in the off season so parking was convenient. Conveniently located for restaurants and the chairlifts.

Great place accommodation wise, staff very helpful and friendly. Trish goes way beyond the expectations of host. Would recommend Candlelight in summer, (would be terrific in the snow season if your young) Jim&Marie.

Here for the L'Etape, fortunately found a room. Amazing view, location and great parking spot. Great help with securing the bikes and navigating around the Thredbo village. Staff was kind and was quite reachable in regards to queries about the area, food, and bar. Would highly recommend this place. Wish I could stay here for weeks.

Lovely cozy lodge full of character, staff are amazing and hospitable and full of cheer. Meals were great and the cooked breakfast is a must before a day on the slopes. Thanks for the memories and the excellent German beers and schnapps John.

The veal snitzel was to die for. All the food: fondues, desserts, and the service and the schnapps made this one of our favourite meals of all time! It really topped off our Thredbo visit.

Great Bar and Service, Very European feel inside.

Outstanding meal. Authentic Tyrolean cuisine. A good cheese Raclette is hard to find. James is a great friendly bartender too! Wish we could stay here too. Book early or come in summer for a fantastic man bike or hiking experience.

Great holiday location however could use some updating with respect to the interior design. Other than that the place is awesome!

A lovely rustic lodge with with fabulous, friendly staff. However, the lodge has thin walls and doors so you can here people walking up and down the stairs and talking. The views are spectacular. The rooms are very clean, warm and comfortable. The restaurant was only open two of the four nights we stayed and the bar was open only three of the four nights. Breakfast was amazing. Continental and/or cooked breakfast was included in the price of the accommodation. The free town bus service drops you off almost at the front door of the lodge which is great following a day of skiing and your too tired to manage the hill. Overall, l had a pleasant stay and I would stay there again.

We didn't want to leave and we will be back! Maddie the receptionist was so helpful and friendly from the inital booking to check in and throughout our stay (she advised some great eating out options) she is a hospitality gem so positive and beaming with welcome. The views were so divine from our family room, I kept looking out even during the night — it was magical. I loved the feel of place having been to local ski museum created a understanding on how Thredbo and why this type of architecture is part of its heritage, it was a really enjoyable stay in a building that has some history. Building was warm and our room was toasty and very clean from bedrooms to bathrooms and the windows all clean and clear to look out at that view, Even our balconey was tidy. This accommodation is well maintained it truly has alot of heart and soul no cookie cutter boring here. With beautiful bay windows down in dining area having the breakfast that came with our tariff with great views of the slopes was great start to the day — The continental was great with 5 cereal choices, toasting lots different spreads with rye, multigrain, white, wholemeal, juices, teas and lovely brewed coffee, yogurts and stewed fruit to add. We ate well slept well as our beds were also very comfortable. We cant wait to come back.

The Candlelight Lode is only a few steps from the center of Thredbo. The room was more than big enough for two people and had an amazing view of the mountain.

We had dinner here and were amazed with the food and service provided. We couldn't fault anything.

Candlelight Lodge has been a favourite restaurant of ours for years. A hidden gem! We returned again this ski season and had two amazing meals including our favourite cheese fondue. The service was as good and friendly as the delicious meals.

We stayed there for 2 nights in September. The room was spacious and clean with a fantastic view. The staff (Alison) was very helpful and we were even given an upgrade from continental breakfast to a full hot breakfast for free! Excellent service and highly recommended.

Simply, it's the best restaurant and bar on the mountain. The Candle Light Lodge is a must do for anyone who is in Thredbo.

We have stayed here twice. Once over Easter and once over Anzac Day long weekend. So I dont know what it's like in peak season but when we have been here its been great. Nice people, awesome location, great view of the mountain and reasonable breakfast. I could imagine in Winter the bar would be extremely cosy and a wonderful place to have a drink and bite to eat.
