Only stayed 1 night & it was stunning. It’s all about the little touches that make it so welcoming. Can’t wait to be able to come back for a longer stay & really enjoy everything this place offers.

Everything about our recent stay at Thistle Hill Guest House was delightful! The beautiful Tori and Ian couldn’t do enough to make us feel very welcome and comfortable. Beautifully appointed rooms and ammenities, just a short distance from some of the best wineries, cafes and restaurants, the region has to offer. Definitely worth a visit! 😊 🍷 🧀 💆‍♀️👌🏽

Jo and John are fabulous and most welcoming hosts. Absolutely beautiful, quite and very clean place. Great breakfast. We enjoyed fire pit every evenings. We had an amazing stay here and highly recommend this gorgeous guesthouse.

A fabulous haven to explore Pokolbin and surrounds. We came as wedding guests and had such an amazing stay. Quiet room, comfortable bed, great attention to detail (bathroom comforts, cheese and morning tea treats). Early morning walks were a great start to the day — the refreshing pool was a welcome relief at the end. Jo and John were amazing hosts. Thank you.

We were there for a wedding, so many choices on spots to choose from for the ceremony. What a great place! Jo and John who own the venue are amazing as is their family. Nothing was too much trouble and guest wants and needs anticipated. Accommodation is lovely. Rooms well appointed, pool was perfect after a day of exploring. Food — save the best to last, Jo works wonders, yum! We will be back!

Stunning location. Heart of the Hunter. Beautifully appointed and thoughfully set up. Hosts are really friendly and helpful and made the stay a wonderful experience. Very relaxing to sit and look out over the lawns, pool, ponds and vineyard. Breakfast was fabulous with lots of creative homemade options. A great getaway for either a quiet weekend, celebration, wedding or even a boutique conference site. Definitely coming back.

Where do I even start! John, Jo & the team at thistle hill are literal life savers. We held our wedding on there grounds this past weekend and it was more then perfect! There venue is absolutely stunning & it was more then we could ever imagine! The team went above & beyond for us! We are forever thankful! I highly recommend this team & venue! Absolute legends!

A great place to stay in the Hunter. So quiet and relaxed.
We had a beautiful room that was very clean and comfortable.
The gardens were immaculate, and it is easy to see the hard work put in by our thoughtful hosts Jo and Greg, everywhere you look.
Breakfast was great and got us started for the day.
We would definitely stay here next time we visit this region.

Beautiful rooms, spacious break out areas. Amazing hosts who provide amazing food. I highly recommend staying here.
It would be perfect for a midweek corporate getaway. If your leadership team need a getaway to discuss Strategy and Business, this place is where you should go.
Also great for a weekend get away, girls weekend, family getaway, it caters for all.

What can I say, best secret I have found in the Hunter Valley after visiting 20 years.
Beautiful property, rooms, breakfast to die for and owners were fabulous.

Thistle Hill has everything you could wish for in the Hunter valley. Elegant five star accommodation with a lovely French provincial theme. Donna and Stuart are the perfect hosts and their attention to detail made our stay so relaxed. They also excelled with their culinary delights in the woodfired warm breakfast room. The expectations of our stay were exceeded in every way.

My wife and I head to the Hunter at least twice a year and since staying at Thistle Hill last year we will not stay in any other accommodation. The location is perfect with some of the best of the Hunter wineries right down the road and not in the thick of it of the bigger commercial venues. If friends ask where to stay this is the only place I recommend!

Stayed here with 4 of my girlfriends and it was fantastic! Would give it 6 stars if I could!

Great place to stay. Beautifull and serene estate. Donna is a fantastic host. Gave us maps and organized our schedule for the day. The breakfast was simply delicious. Not to mention the view overlooking the vine yard.

We have had the most beautiful time, we arrived quite late and Donna greeted us with the most friendly smile and showed us our beautiful room which was filled with lots of beautiful treats. Donna went to the hassle of creating us our own personal map n instructions for a wine tasting trip. Such a wonderful experience can’t wait to come back ❤️ Eliza and John xx.

Absolutely loved our stay at Thistle Hill. Management and especially Donna were very accommodating and went above and beyond to accommodate our every request. The property is very well maintained and would highly recommend the property to friends and family. We wish we had longer there!

Had a fantastic experience at Thistle Hill Guest House, got there on a Friday night and Donna had a delicious pizza waiting for us in our room with a bottle of wine, just what we needed after a 2.5hr drive! Donna and Stuart were so lovely, warm and welcoming! And very attentive! The rooms were very nice, clean and cosy, and just beautiful views, we had a great time and will definitely be returning to Thistle Hill Guest House, highly recommended.

We stayed 3 nights for my brother's wedding. And I m highly recommended to everyone such a beautiful, relaxing place. With amazing host Stuart and Donna. They made as so welcome, feels like you are at family members house.
The rooms are so clean, with fresh flowers from Donna's garden in arrival we had cheese plate and bottle of wine in the fridge, all rooms has a Wi-Fi. Even in cold nights inside were so warm.
Stuart and Donna make a delicious fresh breakfast everyday.
Donna is helped us to organize excursions, and recommended restaurant for a dinner.
Donna's and Stuart two beautiful dogs Emilie and Soxy very friendly, as kids and adults loved them.
Definitely next our trip to hunter valley we ll stay with Stuart and Donna.

Just back from a great weekend away with my gorgeous wife Annette. We stayed here for 2 nights which is what seemed to be the hottest weekend in history. Donna and Stuart are very friendly and great to have a chat and laugh with, and there hospitality was first class. We arrived and Donna was there to greet us with a smile that would light up the sky. She showed us to our beautiful room which was nice and cool and showed us our complimentary bottle of chilled semillon which was their own label and I must say it tasted great and throughout the weekend I had finished off another 4 of them as they were great with the cheese and fruit that was also supplied by Donna. Also chocolate brownies were in our room the next day and were yummy. Breakfast was served each morning in a fantastic room near the pool and everything was fresh and prepared beautifully. If I could give Thistle Hill 6 stars I would in a heartbeat. Thank you so much Donna and Stuart, PS… Donna can you tell stuart from Dave to stop working for one minute and get his backside in the pool xx.

Recommend Thistle Hill 100%! Such a beautiful setting, rooms are lovely and comfortable. And the hosts Donna and Stuart are the nicest people! Breakfast in the morning lovely fresh food. Had a bottle of their own wine and a cheese board waiting for us on our first evening and brownies the next!

Friendly and helpful owners make staying here relaxing and very enjoyable. Recommend to couples wanting to get away for a few days or just one night.

It was the perfect getaway. Our room was beautiful. The whole experience was just perfect. The breakfast was delicious. The owners go above and beyond what I expected. Very grateful for such a wonderful weekend. Will definitely visit again.
