➜ We were staying in a nearby apartment, not in the hotel, but, the first morning, in an urgent need attack of Zamparnos a few freshly made croissants (and, if we did not get it, die struck), we spotted the terrace of the hotel cafeteria and approached Ask if they had. Great location Seriously. We're back every day. He has been treating us at every breakfast as if it were an English butler. Has a way to address the customer and serve him with a serenity, both in the voice and gestures, so polite, so respectful, so very careful and delicate, that makes you want to talk short and give him a hug and everything to go hahaha is Simply charming. If you read us, you know that it has been a gift to receive from you every morning the warm coffee and the tender croissants on the table that we have been so carefully preparing. A hug from both of us.
I was crazy enough to stay here in summer, and I think this hotel might be the only one open in all of Soldeu (ski lifts are closed all summer) ; this area is nice in summer if you want solitude, because the whole town is dead outside of ski season. Came in during a snowstorm in mid May, so that ruined my plans to hike locally, but you can easily take a bus down to Encamp or other towns that have better weather and safer hiking. Pros: +lovely mountain views (I was in #307) +friendly staff/other guests +functional hot water +free breakfast (pastries, bread, yogurt, cereal, coffee/tea/juice, etc) +quaint feel +conveniently located next to the bus stop (which only comes maybe once an hour in summer) Cons: -no heating in summer! I was in a snowstorm and frreeeeeeeezing in the room. -literally no electrical outlets except for the ancient TV and hair dryer. Meant I couldn't use my phone when charging or sleep next to it. -no duvet, just some sort of wool blanket (which was warm enough when doubled up).

Steak was as tough as old boots, chips under cooked. When we sent it back I got bad attitude from the resteraunt staff and told to pay the bill at the bar, bill came at full price! I dug my heels in and refused to pay for that one meal. Embarrassing Avoid this hotel resteraunt as there are plenty of other places to eat in this beautiful town.
