Mountain View House Hotel

Lovely host who seems to want only to help her guests with their stay. Each morning at breakfast (simple yet lovely and filling) we were asked what we had planned and told that she could help arrange anything we wish. The rooms are nice, clean and air-conditioned and the beds are reasonably comfortable. The place is located on the main stretch, a short walk from any of the booking agencies, bus pick-up and drop-off locations, restaurants and other hostels and party spots, if you want to join but like being able to escape the noise if necessary.

Value for money, clean rooms, hospital staff and decent breakfast. Loved it.

The hotel fully met expectations. Very well located, within walking distance of the boat station, market and pharmacy. We got them Dong Homa on the 4th bus, runs at intervals of 1 hour from 5.30 to 12.30 and then from 16.00, until what time I don't remember. The bus driver, after watching our reservation, drove us directly to the hotel. We arrived in the morning, we met at once without surcharges. The hotel can book buses to cities with a bus connection (see photo). Laundry services are available. Delicious coffee! Breakfast-European and Asian dishes, large portions. Very friendly and helpful staff. Provides very useful recommendations for visiting caves and other attractions. Very clean, daily cleaning and towel change. There is a motorbike rental, free parking. Good Wi-Fi. During the three days of my stay I was so friends with the host family that I did not want to leave. If there is a chance to visit Fonghnya Kebang again, we will stop at this hotel.

The hotel and the rooms are a mostly outdated, with a leaking shower without pressure and an almost non-existent Wi-Fi I'm the room. The location is good, though, just in the main street of Phong Nha, at five minutes from Easy Tiger and Bamboo Bar. The family that runs the hostel were very nice and helpful, until they saw the second day that we decided to visit the caves by ourselves without booking a tour with them (which, by the way, costed almost the double of what costed us). Since that moment until we left she acted really angry at us, barely trying to communicate even for the hotel business and looking at us with bad faces every moment. We also booked a bus with them to leave for Ninh Binh, but they decided to book with a different company that we asked them for (charging us the same price, for a much horrible bus). I honestly cannot understand how this place keeps getting such good ratings. Here you will find what you expect from a hotel less than half the price they ask.

Stayed here in a triple room cost 340vnd a night. Great place, nice free breakfast, a cold drink when you first arrive, good Wi-Fi and warm showers comfortable clean rooms. The family that run it are very friendly. When one of us asked about where to get a shoelace in town the guy said there wasn’t anywhere and tried to de-lace his own shoe and give us that one. They were very accommodating even after we’d paid up and checked out letting us keep our bags behind reception for most of the day before we left town. Cheap water and beer too. Would stay again.

Excellent place to stay! The proprietor is an extremely nice lady. She doesn’t speak English, but is very accommodating. She held a family dinner for all of the guests, and invited us despite the fact that we’d checked out already! Rooms are spacious, if a bit outdated, but everything was in working order. All in all a fantastic hotel.

Extremely friendly and helpful owner, a lovely lady. Nice view of the mountains opposite indeed. Good rental bikes with good brakes, several options for tasty breakfast. They helped book the bus for our trip to Hue and arranged the pick-up. Great! Will definitely stay here again.

It is a basic experience with a leaking shower, tired furnishings and a noisy construction happening outside every morning (though not the hotel's fault). There is Wi-Fi, no safe, rooms are cleaned daily and the staff are pleasant, though don't really understand English.

Flexible staff (arrived super early) yet room was made available. Breakfast is delicious and sufficient, room is clean and spacious enough, bathroom is adequate/clean. Good value for your money. Scooter rent is possible, decent but not newest/best condition, did the job well. Caves around are stunning. Phong Nha cave boat tour and 31km/20miles Paradise cave. (Multiday expedition to the largest cave of the world is also around but entry ticket is steep — 3000 USD)

We booked the cheapest place in the village and were really surprised. The room was comfortable and clean. We had a balcony right outside our room, AC, fan and a TV. The location is really close to everything too. The people running this place were really nice and despite lack of English gave us advice on tours, helped us book a bus to cat ba and explained where exactly the bus will stop, so we weren't confused in the middle of the night. Loved getting free bananas on arrival and fruit every morning. They also gave us some snacks before our long bus journey, as well as letting us use the shower after we had checked out. Overall they were so welcoming I felt like we were visiting a relative rather than a hotel. Would definitely recommend.

This a fantastic option for the staying in the town! The owner is very welcoming. Upon arrival she gave us snacks and a bottle of water with tour and map information of the national park. The rooms were clean and comfortable, beds are good with AC. Breakfast is inclusive which you get good options choosing off the menu. We rented a scooter for 100, 000 a day and bought snacks and water here cheaper than you would at a mart! We also bought our bus tickets here cheaper than going back to Dong Hoi and getting a train. Our nightly rate was 200, 000 dong. Fantastic stay. Would recomend to anyone!

Good hotel. Nice clean rooms. Really soft beds. Ac. Tv. Fan. No fridge. You can buy beer, cold water, coffee, Oreos etc from reception at a price equal to a mini mart. The owner is really friendly. Nice quiet place in comparison to other places on this street. You can buy cheap bus tickets for onward travel here. Rent a scooter or motorbike for 100, 000 a day.

I Recimiendo it! Very good attention at all times. We were greeted with fruit and water when we arrived late in the evening with the bus. I forgot clothes on the hanger and brought it to the bus where I was leaving, with a rain pilot because a storm had begun. We rented right there the bikes porqie are at a good price. Would!

Nice place to stay. Owner's daughter can speak English pretty good so you can order a tour or bus through her. Breakfast inclusive!

The room was nice and so was the staff. I had to leave the next morning bc they said they had full reservations. Wish I'd known before I checked in, I think she tried to tell me but didn't have enough words.

A great place to stay if you're in the area. The owner is a very nice lady who can speak English well. She is very knowledgeable and can help with anything you need. We booked our tours and bus tickets through her and was not disappointed. She even woke up at 5 am to make sure we got on the right bus and packed us some snacks and water. The place itself is quite nice for what you pay for. Clean rooms, hot water, AC, TV, Wi-Fi, comfy beds and toiletries. Breakfast is also included in the price, and everything is homemade. Her fried rice and fried noodles are pretty tasty. Also includes a drink and a banana​. It's located on the end of the town, but not that far out. Everything is within a walking distance of 5 minutes, if even that. If you're looking for a cheap, quiet, relaxing place to stay while visiting then I highly recommend here. Would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in the area!

(Good quality at low cost. ) We enjoyed spending a couple of days at the Mountain View. The room cost us not too expensive (about 250KD per night for 2 beds) and included a lunch (each) which was good. The lady who runs the hotel is really very nice. The room was very clean. If we return to this town, we will go back to this hotel!

Very nice hotel. The owners are Vietnamese and very friendly and helpful. The feeling is actually more of a homestay than hotel, but only in the positive respects. The food was marvelous and we met nice people to dine with. Judging from our visits to other hotels this one stood out as the most welcoming.

We stayed only one night but everything was perfect. Good price and the room was nice and clean. There is shared balcony with great view over the main street and the mountains. You can watch sunrise and sunset there. They serve omelette with baguette for a breakfest with coffee/tea. Helpful friendly staff they helped us rent motorbike and book bus to Hue.

Fine room — most importantly, a soft, clean bed. Nice people. Pretty tasty standard breakfast. On the edge of the tourist strip of town. Some outside noise in the morning from the nearby school.
