GA Hostel Hostel

Location is behind an alley and shops. Use Google Maps so you can arrived correctly and safely.
I choose this hostel because I need to cook my own halal food. Other hostel does not allowed you to cook and you have to pay for the hot boiled water.

Tried the cooking class which was AMAZING! A really cosy hostel, with the sweetest staff I've met.
I asked to make a vegetarian cuisine and they happily agreed. We made vegetarian Bun Cha that came out better than I could imagine. The meat eaters in the group said It's even better the the regular one! The whole process was real fun and full of explanations and chatting.
This is the only place that I have seen in Vietnam in my 3 weeks stay that even offers vegetarian Bun Cha, and the recipe is made up by the hostel staff.

A good and cheap place to stay in old quarter Hanoi. Friendly staff, clean rooms and lots of activities to do like cooking class and yoga time 3/week. It's a little difficult to see on the outside if your new, just ask the locals and they will help you find the hostel. Overall very satisfying will come back for sure.

Hostel is at the heart of Hanoi. I came here expecting nothing but the staff is really nice and welcoming. Loan's English is perfect and Rosie is very nice to the guests. I'd recommend coming here for any curious traveler.

I didnt stay in the hostel but, I booked a bus going to Vientiane from them and the bus will pick me up at 5pm. I checkout from my hostel around 12NN and since I still have plenty of time, I decided to ask GA if I can rest there while waiting for the bus since its too hot outside, and they just let me in. The staffs are very friendly and we even became friends after. They are one of the best.

A nice hostel tucked away in an alley (if you're looking at the temple, turn left and walk about ten metres), with a charm like no other. It is kept very clean and the staff are lovely, lunch is available every day and there are numerous toilets and showers, I never had to wait. A large locker is provided to every guest and the beds are big enough for even tall Scandinavian types.

I went there for Vietnamese cooking class. My family and I enjoyed it very much. Very well organise and get to meet travelers around the world. Food is delicious. Highly recommended!

I loved staying in Ga Hostel! Sometimes hostels — many in Hanoi — focus too much (in my opinion) on their party image. I want a place I can sleep, too! Ga Hostel was much more relaxed and cozy. You can absolutely socialize in the common area when you wanted to (they even host cooking classes), but you can also get to sleep before 2 or 3 am. It was the perfect balance for me. The staff was wonderful, the location was perfectly convenient — so glad I found this place while I was in Hanoi!

I Took cooking classes, the cheapest I Found around 8 dollars, and I learnt vegan Phơ, was delicious!, the ambient is confortable, the coordinators are very amiable, speak in a good English and also explained us the historical background of this dish. Thank you so much.

Great location and nice room.

A great hostel if you're looking for a more laid back environment. A decent common area to chat and mingle with fellow travelers as well as the staff. They have a pretty basic breakfast and an open kitchen as well. Overall, I would highly recommend this hostel if you're not looking for a party hostel but still want to meet others!

I stayed at Ga hostel for 3 nights and I loved it a lot. My room was very clean and I got very decent breakfast. The staff was very supportive and helpful. I miss you all and hope to come back soon.

Absolutely a great experience. I used this as my home base. I was able to leave items with them while I went on short excursions to visit Sapa or cat bay. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Rooms nice and cool with AC, everything kept so clean. Free breakfast each morning was basic yet outstanding! Trust me on this, they offer tours and tickets through the hostel. On the street you may think you are finding a better deal for less price, but there are so many tour places that are scams and don't actually do what you pay for. I found this out the hard way. Go through them, you are getting the best deal for the best price because of peace of mind. They know what they are doing and are always available to call if something goes wrong from a ticket or tour and they will fix it. I am so glad I found this little gem in the old quarter. You must sign up for their cooking class and free Hanoi tour. Also buy your lunch or dinner here a few times, it's the best.

The room is quite good and clean. I love to stay here and talk with friends from many countries. We cooked and enjoyed the meals with lots of fun. The price is very reasonable.

It's located in centre, near night market, street food street, ad in 5 minutes you can arrive to lake, french quarter and it's quite. The staff is very, look for the needs of all the customers. They have a wide choice of tours and transportation at great value. Very familiar, quiet and friendly atmosphere. Yeah!

A warmest hostel in Hanoi. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Everything is good and comfortable: clean room, good bed and accepted buffet breakfast! They have cooking class and free yoga class too. Highly recommend to stay here!

Oh my God, I love this place I actually left my passport behind after checking out. They had no idea who I was so they looked me up on Facebook just to message me and tell me that I left my passport behind what a amazing staff, what an amazing place, the absolute coolest hostel in Hanoi Vietnam!

Probably my favourite hostel in all of Vietnam. It's a lovely quiet little place in a great location but tucked away from the busy streets of Hanoi. The staff are great, very welcoming and helpful, I felt very at home. Cooking with My My was great fun and the free yoga with Lucia was fantastic. Would definitely stay there again.

I picked this place because it had great reviews on hostel world. But I was disappointed. I booked 2 beds in the dorm room, and they put us in different dorm rooms. Okay, I could deal with that, but one of the dorms (the one on the 1st floor) smelled like mold really bad. They also only had 1 working toilet for like 15 beds so that's ridiculous in itself. On the other hand, they had a free breakfast where you could make your own eggs and the staff was super friendly (although the cleaning lady was not and started cleaning my bed before check out time). It's in a good location, but the mold really bothered us so I won't be going back.

This is a pretty great hostel if you like a bit of a quiet, familylike atmosphere. It's tucked away in a little alley, bang in middle of old quarter hanoi. Bars are about a 1 minute walk away. We stayed in the 5 person room for $5 a night, which was definitely a good choice. The best thing is without a doubt the service. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We came to Hanoi with no clue what to do for 6 days and Mymy at the front desk planned and booked everything for us within half an hour. Next day we got our train tickets and went off to Sa Pa. Simply awesome considering it's a hostel (and reasonably priced too). Definitely would recommend.

Awesome group of young people run this. They have a lot of good recommendations, and this place is a stone's throw from the beer corner and tons of good cafes.

The style and friendly staff at Ga made me feel right at home. As a result I've been living here for 6 weeks now. I've stayed at many hostels in Vietnam and no other hostel caters quite to your needs like Ga does. Whether it's local tips, tours, comfort, or getting a group to go out on the weekend, they really take care of it all. Next time you are on Hang Bac street in the Old Quarter, walk down the alley and grab yourself a bed.
