Quality of the guest house. Zed and Emma are great hosts. Location is good. Rooms are very nice, and quiet. Sea view is fantastic.

The hosts were lovely and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was perfect with a sea view and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfy with a choice of pillows. The cooked breakfast was delicious and cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend a stay here and we will definately be booking again.

A last minute booking which didn’t disappoint. Beautiful quiet room with an excellent breakfast the next morning. Didn’t spend much time in the room but it was spotlessly clean with a nice lovely bathroom and a big comfy bed. Also has lots of storage if you were staying longer. We will definitely be back xx.

Fantastic stay at the Riviera. Perfect location, nice modern rooms with comfy bed, generous tea & coffee making facilities in the room. I booked a sea view room and was not disappointed. Parking is easy and on the doorstep. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Hosts are lovely. Have already booked a 2nd visit!

Fantastic location overlooking the sea, lovely property, superb breakfasts and a comfortable room with stunning views, what's not to love? Really enjoyed our stay and everyone was friendly and helpful. Heartily recommend and will be back again. Bedroom view of Sunset looking left, sunrise looking right, where else can you see both from the same place?

We have just returned from our stay at the Riviera, nothing is too much trouble for Zed and Emma, rooms are clean and spacious, and the sea views are amazing, Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, thankyou both for a wonderful stay once again for our wedding anniversary.

A lovely friendly, comfortable guest house, with great sea views, and a good selection of choices for breakfast all in a perfect spot to explore Whitby. I’m sure we will be back for another stay soon.

Our stay was absolutely fantastic Rooms are clean & lovely the view from our room was amazing nothing is better than to sit and have a cuppa in the morning watching the sea. Staff was so friendly the owner Emma was so welcoming. Breakfast was really nice aswell they do their best to tailor your needs aswell I changed couple of things on mine and came just how I wanted. We will definitely be going to stay again & have recommended Riviera to everyone.

Lovely & clean guesthouse. Delicious hearty breakfast! The owners are very friendly, helpful & accommodating. We stayed for 3 nights for my partners 40th birthday, and the lovely breakfast staff sang him happy birthday and put a candle in his bacon butty! Also he got to wear the ‘birthday candle hat’ which was on our breakfast table! Lovely gesture! We had a sea view room — amazing view! Would definitely stay here again!

Many thanks to Emma and Zed for a wonderful time last weekend, for a lovely view, terrific breakfasts and the opportunity in these difficult times to have a change of scene with amazing fresh air. Good luck for the winter season. I hope to be back in the not too distant future, Covid willing of course!

I booked here for my in laws as they needed a little break away as had been out the house since beginning of march, and had missed celebrating there 40th wedding anniversary and my father in laws 70th birthday, they had a fantastic time very friendly people, rooms clean, food lovely and well prepared for covid 19 they will definitely be returning

Em and zed are perfect hosts, and friendly staff, we came for the steampunk weekend, and had a great time, really clean and good breakfast. We have already booked for next Februarys steampunk weekend. Plus great views, looking forward to seeing them next year. Craig and sandi.

A lovely guesthouse with stunning sea views, friendly staff and nice big rooms which are clean and mine had floor to ceiling windows overlooking the sea. Only a short walk into the town centre so great location for walks along the beach, shopping and restaurants. Highly reccomend to anyone who is visiting the beautiful Yorkshire coast.

Super stay & our room was just perfect. Definitely recommend this hotel for sea views and close to all amenities.

Lovely place brekki is tremendous and you have a choice. The views from the rooms is great definitely recommended it.

Various sizes of rooms and showers, all comfortable and all needs provided, great location and breakfast of your choice, at a great price. Zed is a great host who tries to accommodate all needs and free parking permits are provided very close by. We have stayed more than once so that tells a story.

We had the most amazing experience. The apartment is beautiful. All of the rooms are spacious and decorated beautifully. Fantastic views! Location was perfect! In the middle of the city center and in walking distance of all the shops and amazing restaurants.

We had a lovely stay at your guesthouse recently and the choice of breakfast was excellent Whitby is one of our favourite places and we visit twice a year on average.
We love the stunning veiws of the sea and surrounding landscape On this occasion we had a rear facing bedroom with a veiw of surrounding neighbours back yards and no fewer than 4 fire escapes and 63 wheelie bins and a patch of waste ground somewhat spoiling an otherwise perfect visit. Hope to be luckier on a future visit.

Nice guest house on the beach front in Whitby. We were given an info/welcome folder on arrival, which was full of recommendations of local attractions and eateries that we found really helpful. We went at peak time and it was really busy but we were able to find parking nearby every day. Ideally situated for strolling into town. We had a family room on the 4th floor, which was a bit of a hike, but the room was great. Would definitely recommend. The cooked breakfast was better than average too!

Stayed at Riviera Guesthouse for 4 nights. On arrival I was disappointed on entering at the lack lustre view of the reception area. Met Zed who was very pleasant and gave us room key. Very surprised that we had to climb 6 lots of stairs to reach it. Think we should have been told this when we booked. Room was very nice, clean and we'll equipped. Beautiful towels and clean white bedding. Breakfast was in the dining room on the right which was ok but on closer look was a bit shabby and floor very dusty. Female waitress was a bit loud in the kitchen and appeared to be having "banter" with Zed but in mine and my husbands opinion she was quite rude… I do think smart clothing is appropriate for serving staff not jeans and fur topped boots. Again that is our opinion. … the bin we had to place our cereal boxes in was almost full… this was Wednesday morning… by Saturday morning it was almost overflowing and did have flys around it. The floor still had not been cleaned neither had windowsill on first stair case as a fly remained there the whole 4 days. We were brought breakfast before we had finished our cereal on every breakfast serving… this has never happened to us before as the waitress/ waiter usually checks you have finished first… instead this led to us either leaving cereal or having breakfast kept warm till we had finished. Food was lovely eggs perfect both scrambled and boiled.

The rooms, as far as I saw, were clean and had nice views. The staff were nice and chatty, and the breakfast was nice. All in all, it was a good place fo stay.

We had a lovely stay at the Riviera. It's a lovely guest house in a great location, run by a lovely couple. Zed & Emma couldn't do enough for you. Nothing was too much trouble (Zed even moved my car when we were out of the area so I wouldn't get a parking ticket! ) The food was awesome with a great choice of breakfast. The sea views from our 3rd floor room were amazing and the guest house itself is in a lovely location, an easy walk to virtually most of Whitby's attractions. Excellent stay, excellent hosts and our only regret is not booking for longer! Hopefully see you again soon.

I thoroughly recommend Riviera Guesthouse. I had a wonderful seaview room, which was lovely to sit and just watch the sea from whilst relaxing in the evening. Complimentary tea and coffee with biscuits was very well received too. Nothing was too much trouble fir the staff who were very attentive and friendly. Breakfast was delicious with several options available including scrambled eggs and smoked salmon! Will definitely return. Thanks. Emma and Jez!

Yes we are enjoy stay Guest house. Emma and Zed is very good and helpful with us. Of course we enjoy stay at Whitby lovely place lot walk around this place. Very nice bedroom with sea view. We stay at top of the guest house good to see sea and the beach. Of course we are lucky with good weather. We would like to come back in other time. Thank you to Emma and Zed.

The Riviera Guest House has all of the amenities you’d expect from a big chain, but has the personal touch of a family owned establishment. The room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast options are plentiful. The vegetarian breakfast was delicious.

The Riviera Guest House benefits from perhaps the best location in Whitby, which beautiful views as a result. The staff are welcoming and the rooms have everything you could possible need for a short (or long) stay, with extremely comfortable beds.
