Reviews of Village Hotel Hull 3*
Nice basic hotel Great views of the Humber.
Rooms in desperate need of an upgrade, but staff are amazing, very helpful and friendly, food is good, facilities are good and bar area is great 👌🏼 I stay here regularly and would deffo recommend.
A fabulous place to have any celebration 🎊
It’s a nice hotel lovely room with a sofa and coffee table. Our only criticism is the food and drink very expensive.
Dump. Decor tired. Food crap and staff awful.
Great, friendly staff. Love the leisure facilities. Would definitely stay again.
The Room are very clean, The crew are Hospitality, the most important the Food are Great 😋very Delicious.
I tour Village Gyms in my job as I work away from home all week, staff in Hull are very friendly and will help if needed.
Absolutely abysmal service and really poor standard of Christmas Day meal served to us on Christmas Day 2921. Complete and absolute rip off for a less than mediocre meal and very poor service.
Very pleasant enjoyable staff polite and helpful. Would recommend.
Very comfortable I like the steam room, dry room and the swimming Pool area🤩🤩❤️staff are friendly hospitable❤️
Lovely, friendly staff, quick and easy check in and the hotel itself is fab! Bonus is they’ve even got a Starbucks cafe! Would definitely stay here again if visiting this area in the future and would recommend it to any other visitors.
Nice food and drink selection, comfy rooms.
The hotel is looking tired.
A car park charge has been introduced.
Some lights in the room did not work.
No plug socket next to the bed for charging phone.
Starbucks had no seating set out due to Covid.
Could not use the pool area due to Covid.
Room key card needed reloading twice.
At breakfast they could not make poached eggs due to Covid. (im still trying to work this one out) but you could order scrambled eggs.
Great service!
Highly recommended! 👍
Staff very friendly people sticking to covid rules and the place is spotless.
Nice hotel, good amenities, staff friendly and efficient.
Friendly staff lovely clean and big rooms all with ensuites
Mostly are baths with showers
Hospitality is amazing.
My self and my husband stayed at your hotel on Saturday 26 Sept overnight with gardiners nmc coach travel. We really loved it. The place was spotless all social distances was in place and the staff were brilliant. The food was really nice as well. The staff serving our evening meal and breakfast was marvellous. Please give them my regards. Specially the lass who as arthritis in her hands. I work in a care home and I have it and your in pain 24/7. Well done to all the staff xx.
Good food and beer and staff are good as well.
I have been waiting for a refund for Magic Mike tribute was promised by the end of July. Been told twice this week someone would call me back and nothing. Just called again and was told the same. Absolutely disgusting. I have the CEO email so may go straight to him with my complaint. But I will see what happens by the end of play today and if nothing will be complaining. It was booked for 22 people so not a little booking. Disgusting service.
Fab night… From start to finish. Great value for money, great service and fab crowd… Love these tribute nights x.
Fantastic place to eat and have a Drink with Family & Friends, a lively place full of lovely staff 10 out of 10
Awesome night staff were great as was the food.
Great food 80’s night was fantastic great music.
Having a really good night, highly recommend, food amazing, more then u can eat, still here now, lol.
One of the worse Christmas lunches we've ever had! £55 per person & hardly any food & was only just luke warm! Really disappointed as we booked to go back based on the great time we had a couple of years ago! Will not be returning!
Amazing spa packages all staff in hotel are so helpful.
Festive hot chocolate, cookies
very large screen tv. Friendly staff & Xmas all wrapped up…
Bright modern environment, friendly staff and opens across the day for service ‘
Staff attentive and welcoming, Great choice on menus, food hot and well presented, Big Portion sizes. Varied drinks menu, wines, soft drinks, craft beers and cocktails. Staff listened and accommodated specific dietary restrictions and knowledgeable enough to advise alternatives. Watch out for the events deals great value! well worth a visit.
Lovely hotel even better now its had a revamp
The club rooms are spot on
As his the new bar & grill. Staff are very friendly & welcoming. Marvellous keep up the good work to all concerned.
Was there for the ladies night, food was amazing good entertainment and the service was fantastic, thanks to Ashley and his team for brilliant service.
Had a fantastic night last night the food and the service was brilliant, I would like to thank Ashley and his brilliant staff for a wonderful night, I would highly recommend this this hotel, thankyou once again Brenda Cross.
Just returned from a hen weekend 14 of us the staff was amazing nothing was too much trouble highly recommended thanks staff you served us all very well 5
Enjoyed my stay at the Village Hotel in Hull that much I extended my stay an extra night.
The rooms were nice, clean and as you would expect from any hotel chain.
By far the most enjoyable stay ive had at a hotel in my life. What puts this hotel head and shoulders above any and all other hotels is the customer experience.
… The staff make this happen, Chris (night manager) and Amy (other night staff member) made me feel right at home.
They were friendly, enthusiastic and very clearly happy employees and staff members. Unhappy, under valued, unappreciated employees is something us customers pick up on at hotels everytime and creates a negative atmosphere. This was definitely not the case here. I will definitely be recommending my stay here to all friends and family because of these two.
All hotels should strive massively to have their own Chris & Amy.
A true testament to the industry and the hotel.
I look forward to my next stay.
Had a fantastic event evening with a three course meal, show and DJ.
Great value for money and very entertaining.
Highly recommend.
Amazing hotel and would definitely come back again. The staff were great as well, particularly from the bar area.
Not expecting that. HOTEL in the middle of a trading estate free Wi-Fi, gym swimming pool, bar restaurant and coffee. Pleasant efficient service staff to greet and help as needed. The venue is promoting weddings and I can see why. I went for a meeting and was suprised. Thank you.
Nice and clean, friendly staff. Very confusing to get your room, you do it yourself and it's like getting a boarding pass onto a plane. Not my cup of tea. It's nice to talk to a human after a long driver, book into your room chill. Not this system. Room was really hot and yuk, I didn't get a nice sleep. They gave my a fan, the loudest fan in the world, so not that great. Food in bar was nice, friendly staff. Clean, parking great massive area. Away from town so quiet.
The village hotel stepped in when my friends wedding venue let them down. They catered for us all at short notice and it was lovely. Lesley who looked after us was wonderful and nothing was too much for her.
Nice meal nice place & nice staff.
Went to the Village for fathers day Carvery with 9 members of the family. I have got to say for £200 the quality was very poor. The range of starters was average (chef did not know what flavour the 'soup of the day' was. The choice of hot meats was as expected, vegetables looked as though they were leftovers from Christmas. Mash potato was like the gravy … lumpy. The sweet choice was limited, deconstructed lemon cheesecake, chocolate mousse, lemon tart and a melon dominated fruit salad. Drinks were very expensive,. This place used to be of a great standard, the Chef carving the meat needs to attend a course on customer service. As a chef and catering manager of many years I speak from experience. Expressed disappointment to the restaurant manager, did not seem over concerned. I would have been livid if my chefs put food out to that standard. Suffice to say I wont be going back.
Staff very friendly and helpful, rooms clean and well equipped. Breakfast was beautiful with plenty of choice, staff again could not fault.
Excellent service. Staff very helpful and cleanliness is excellent. Great choice for breakfast. Had an accidental with a young child and the staff member who attended as the first aid was very swift in her response and very efficient so we would publicly like to personally thank her. This was our 3rd stay at a village hotel and once again we were not disappointed. Thank you for a lovely stay. X.
Location is great for my work. The front of house really friendly and could have used an extra team member. My room wasn't the best. One of the plugs didn't work and shower wouldn't work. I used the bath which was OK. The kettle in the room needed just throwing away and not just descaling. Gym and bar with football on the massive screen were all great.
Recently stayed on business for a month Clean comfortable good sized rooms. Staff friendly and helpful. Bar food good value but the restaurant overpriced excellent facilities. Overall I'd stay here again when visiting Hull.
Attended a wedding reception here, the venue is lovely and big. The hotel bar is big and the drinks are reasonably priced. The staff were lovely and up for a good laugh!
Fresh relaxing and energising… that's as we walk through the hotel room door! Spa & Gym facilities are fab and restaurant and bar offers a great menu! Huge screen in the bar is amazing for sport!
Stayed here over the Easter weekend and had a fabulous weekend. The hotel was amazing, the room was clean and spacious. The bed was king size and very comfortable, both myself and my partner slept very well. Breakfast was delicious and ample choice throughout our stay we found all the staff to be very friendly and approachable. Huge carpark with ample parking. Was ideally situated for all our needs. Would definitely go back.
I go to Village gym and love the friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere of visiting the Village gym. Staff are always on hand to offer support and guidance which makes all the difference. This was my original review when I first started at this Gym however now… one staff member decided to start sleeping with my wife which caused my divorce and the hotel refused to allow me out of my contract which only had 1 month left. I explained I clearly couldn't attend the gym so it was unfair to make me pay but they wouldn't let just one payment slide despite the unprofessional and inappropriate actions of their staff member. I wouldn't ever tell anyone to use this place now! It's an absolute joke! Thanks for ruining my life Village!
The facilities were very good and staff seemed happy and were extremely helpful. Staff member Jenny who worked on the evening of February 23, 2018, went above and beyond her duty by assisting me to retrieve my phone that I had left on train on my way to Hull. Thanks Jenny, it was very much appreciated. Generally very good service. Customer Claudia.
Had a fabulous night in the function/private party room with 3 other party's therefore 3 party's of around 40 people who come together all being strangers but got on like a house on fire 1 of the best nights out no tiffs no arguments, the staff made us all their priority, waiters/waitress bar staff bent over backwards shout out to MR GREY James Fletcher young gentleman did village proud n needs to be noticed and of course a raise for sure, he represents the village hotel for its class high standards, thank you for a fantastic night.
The staff are professional friendly and helpful. The new menu in the pub and restaurant are delicious, room are comfy and clean, also a great place to hold meetings and events, a spa to relax, gym and pool to train and Starbucks a great place to enjoy a coffee.
Excellent accommodation and fantastic meal in the restaurant with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Would have been dive stars but the spa bath was out of order and the pool surroundings fairly stark. Some real or artificial foliage would help.
Fabulous hotel with really friendly staff. Rooms are great, the food was lovely and the pool area was amazing. The only thing to let it down was the cocktails. No effort whatsoever put into them, and at £6 each they ain't cheap. Loved the place though, and have booked again for next weekend.
Check in is fully automated now and very efficient. Our room was clean and tastefully decorated with a view of the Humber bridge. We had a nice big TV and tea and coffee making facilities. We booked during the sale so got a superb price. In the room we found a book of vouchers, we used one to get a bottle of fizz half price. Overall a great experience and will certainly be booking again. (Not 5 stars due to all the screens in the bar showing American football, even the large one).
Wonderful spa experience Me and my sister received a groupon voucher for Christmas for a spa day and I can honestly say the experience has made me want to book another immediately. The girls were so friendly and professional, the back massage and facial was incredible. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back. Thank you.
Rooms clean. Bright and well looked after. Plenty of parking. Leisure centre juzuzzi broken again that's every _3. Staff helpful and friendly. Bar prices so so. Park and ride 2 minutes walk away. 2.70 return on bus. Worth it.
Staff Xmas night out. Was a Buffet and disco £12:50 but not enough people got up graded to restaurant 3 course meal, got up graded again free drink on arrival and an artist… photo, booth, and girls who glittered ya face for a £5. ALL still for £12:50 pity those who paid more as it looked like we were all put in one room. Staff were great, helped when needed, food was amazing and we danced until 1am great night. Thank you The Village Hotel.
Comfy hotel handy for the park and ride. Some staff really excellent and some seemed a little stressed, but it was very busy with a Christmas party. On the whole a good place to stay.
A really lovely romantic retreat in a Club room, well worth paying the small amount more for the upgrade. I would prefer an actual reception instead of electronic check-in however. Lovely staff, great food, brilliant gym facilities.
Had first class Christmas Party here 08/12/17. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Would certainly recommend. We would like to wish David a Happy Birthday for Monday, a true professional.
I've stayed at many Village Hotels and although this is an older one it is still very well maintained. All aspects were clean and in good condition and staff were excellent. Great gym and pool (although Jacuzzi was out of order). Will be staying here again.
The Village Hotel Hull was nice disabled parking no disabled room on ground floor they is a lift to use the room was very good doors were big to fit wheelchair through bathroom door was big too the staff are very friendly.
Most of the staff are friendly especially Taylor in the bar. Amy was very friendly & nice around the pool area. The hotel room is ok, but I didn't like the single beds they are too small & not comfy, & you only got one pillow, not comfy like @ the premier inn. The larea has nice comfy settee to lounge about. I would not sleep here again, but I would definitely use the spa facilities again, because it was brilliant with the nice friendly staff. I had treatments done by Vicky, she was very nice & friendly. Thank you guys hope to see you again.
Went for presentation evening, meal was beautiful, layout of tables was great as they were round and you were able to speak to all on the table, much more friendlier, staff were great very friendly and obliging, very well organised, would definately recommend for functions.
Used the Starbucks. Nice and modern with a relaxed atmosphere. The hotel lobby is also clean and modern.
Good service in the restaurant, some food slightly lacking considering the price.
Meal in the restaurant, good service from our waiter Rob but certain items weren't up to scratch like plain tasting garlic mushrooms, only 4 calamari rings for the starter, the chicken starter was good though. I expect the mains to be so much better for the prices charged but lacklustre they are.
I visited Village Hotel Hull with some friends to use the spa. We had full use of the pool, steam room and sauna before our spa treatments. Facilities are excellent and well worth a visit.
Great food and great service thanks for my son's wonderful birthday meal.
Went for spa day with my partner. Really enjoyed it and can't wait to go back. Treatments are very good.
We just stayed here 26/08/17 for my sons wedding and have got to say it was brilliant day and night from start to finish and all the food for the wedding was excellent as was the breakfast all the staff were friendly and helpful all day and night only one thing was lack of air con but in night with windows open made it more comfortable so overall brilliant stay at the village hotel.
Popped in for lunch in the bar with some colleagues. The food is fairly standard for bar food, the menu is a little limited and some things a little over priced, however, the burger stacks are really good. The decor is pretty fresh, the service is fairly swift and the staff are pretty friendly too so that's a bonus. I've been before and I'd probably go again but to summarise the bar is good. Didn't eat in the restaurant or stay in a room so can't comment on those but if the service and the hygiene levels in the bar are anything to go by, I'm sure the rooms, restaurant and other parts of the village are great.
Attended for a staff dinner and I loved it. Extremely friendly and professional staff. Gorgeous interior. Well priced and great quality food.
Although the staff have been good, the hotel has been unbearable. It's a warm day, but the rooms are too hot to sleep in. There is no air conditioning and heavy sheets. The room is next to a 70mph dual carriageway, so you get to choose between sweltering heat or loud traffic all throughout the night. We chose the loud traffic, but still overheated. It's probably quite nice here in spring, but I'm never returning.
Visited for a spa day… the treatments were very good and both me and my friend had different therapists but both were amazing. The other facilities however let it down a bit. The pool was large and spacious but the jacuzzi was out of order and the small one being used was cold and not at all relaxing.
Went for a spa day. I've used this place before and it's really good. Lots to choose from and friendly staff. The food is great too. However, I knocked a star off because 2 of the pool facilities were closed and there was noisy maintenance work in the hotel and outside the spa. Which ruins the relaxing mood abit. I would have booked a different day of they had informed us.
The staff are friendly, the room clean and very comfortable. The conference facilities are easy access, parking no problem. Easy to find from the park and ride into town so access via public transport easy too. Oh take a swimming costume if you staying over night. The food is also worth a tryout.
Stayed in room 400. Arrived very late. Room was a gift from one of our wedding guests. The bed was the comfiest ive slept in! Reception staff were spot on. Really no faults with this place!
Another little gem in the hell hole that is hull, only ever stayed at this hotel for business but it's amazing, many conference rooms all super quiet and modern the staff are pleasant and happy to help and the rooms are huge and air conditioned, thank you village hotel.
Loved it. Great staff, warm and friendly welcome. Didn't eat in the restaurant but had food in the Victory bar. It was quiz night later on and thoroughly enjoyed it. Rooms excellent, and the price was way cheaper than anything else around. Well deffo stay again when in the area!
Went for the upper deck upgrade. Bose system couldn't be used with anything but an iPod. Bathroom shower Trina were dirty. No Starbooks tray. Breakfast awful in a dirty room.
Good hotel and close to the deep. Enjoyed the breakfast!
What a change it made to be met with a smiling face and greeted in a way that makes you feel welcome. New lady on gym reception when I popped in early today, Julie. It honestly made a pleasant change as a couple of receptionists in this hotel are usually to busy to welcome you or just plain ignorant. The staff around the pool arnt any better and usually look so depressed and forlorn. New lady by the pool when I last visited to and she was very helpful and also had a pleasant welcoming smile. So, I suggest you carry on the good work of employing staff that actually enjoy their job and make you feel welcome enough that youd like to visit again. Get rid of the miseries and employ more Julies!
I had a Pamper today in the Spa Natalie was my Therapist today she made me feel very relaxed & the treatments were Bliss, I felt very welcome and the Starbucks is also Lovely for a coffee & a bite to eat, Plenty of Sockets for charging up phones etc. Will definately be going back.
Room was fine, decent size and comfortable bed, bathroom was perfectly adequate. We paid £20 for a double room (with a half price voucher), would have paid in the region of £70.
Attend swimming lessons on a weekend. Pool is good, although a little cold. Front end of hotel is well presented, changing facilities (especially family) in need of update.
Had Christmas dinner here and the staff were great. Food was better than ok but the turkey was a roll rather than slices like a carvery. The beef option and lamb option were far superior. Would definitely book again but would choose something else to the turkey.
This hotel has a Starbucks, gym and sports bar on the ground floor. It's a busy place, but the staff are helpful and there's plenty of seating and space for groups. There's a pleasant atmosphere too and great transport links too.
Staff were very friendly, particularly at the check in desk. The room was large, functional and warm. Similar hotels for the same price provide bottled water and biscuits in the room. Village should consider this. Breakfast was fine and they've introduced new items such as yoghurt with granola. Coffee is good at breakfast which is important to me. This was a business stay and my colleague and I were invited to meet the marketing manager for a drink in the bar. We couldn't make the time given but received a free drink anyway. Tops.
This was our first time staying here after being recomended it, so child friendly, as soon as we arrived the staff could not do enough for us, the restaraunt staff were very good (especially Alex) this young woman really needs to be merited on doing her job, our sons loved her and even though the restaraunt was really busy she still had a smile on her face at all times this is what a good waitress is all about! the rooms are so relaxing and the beds were so comfortable, we will certainly be booking for next year keep up the good work.
Chavtastic, weekends tend to have events on so will get rowdy people all night no aircon in rooms.
I am gym member of the village hotel and one Saturday I arranged to meet my wife for a drink in the bar after the gym. I was most disappointed with the cleanliness of the bar area and seating. I understand that it is busy on a Saturday, but when 3 staff are standing around talking for half an hour when there are dirty glasses and tables to clean. To add insult to injury, when I went back to the bar for another drink I felt that I was interupting the staff conversation. We will not be going again.

RespondStaying here for a week while I visit my mother. One day left and I can say this hotel is better than I expected it to be. Some of the staff are in the wrong profession as they dont like people but on the whole they are a happy friendly bunch. Food is better than average and the facilities are great. Going to be staying here again later in the year. 8 out of 10.
Bad service very expensive food.

Nice hotel views of the humber Bridge /river Angela in the bar and grill was amazing always had a smile nothing too much we has a great experience with her on night 1 not so good on night 2 for the evening meal she wasn't there the waitress was great but the bar staff didn't get his name made loads of mistakes Angela was there for breakfast this morning and was another great service by her and her team she's a credit to the hotel hopefully she is there when we visit again.
