Reviews of Mottram Hall 4*
What an amazing hotel and spa. We stayed here for our wedding anniversary. The staff, especially Adam — head of concierge and Sue — beauty therapist. Adam arranged for a treats for our wedding anniversary. Sue — just the next facial and massage I have had for a long time. Lovely cocktails and really enjoyed the food. We will be back.
Absolutely perfect had the most incredible stay.
Spa was great. However dinner/breakfast was shocking we ended up leaving. We were told by manager of the hotel we'd get a £50 refund almost 2 months later we are still yet to receive the refund. Emails sent, tried to call but never get through & get ignored on Facebook messenger.
A truly horrible spa hotel experience. The staff clearly don't want to be there, everyone is miserable and nobody greets you with a smile. The men's showers in the spa smelt like a blocked toilet. The men's changing facilities were also quite tired. The food at the spa was horrible and at the point of saying that there was nothing on the menu I could eat I was offered an extra side and then left to go hungry. For this they had the nerve to charge me a gratuity. The housekeeping was poor and there were also virtually no water dispensers around the spa, clearly to try and persuade you to buy everything from the cafe. The spa treatment staff were rude and didn't bother to check us in properly, leading to confusion when we went for our treatments as our requests hadn't been passed onto the treatment staff. To finish the day, we had some people playing music on their mobile phones and young children canon-balling into the pool screaming repeatedly. Not the atmosphere of a relaxing spa. When we raised this with the management we were fobbed of with a "would you like a bottle of wine or a free desert with your evening meal" and later a "I would hope you'd have a better time on a next visit" from another. To add insult to injury they then decided to try and overcharge us for our meal at the end of the restaurant by £45!
The service and facilities where very poor 14 golfers arrived struggled to get anything to Eat or drink after 10 o'clock we had Meal booked at 20.00 starter came out at 20.20 main course 21.15 sweet arrived 22.15 only a couple behind bar serving food and drinks then told bar last orders 22.30 was informed champagne bar in hotel is still opened went in there no Draught drinks available Went for Breakfast morning only 1 girl doing tables no coffee available when asked she said I get some when finished table brought coffee out no cups Amazing Then when we finished second round at 13.00 couldn't get any kind of drinks soft or Alcoholic due to bar not been ready from night before want be comming back or recommending this place Very very Dissatisfied.
Fantastic wedding venue for Mr and Mrs Jackson on Friday night, all the staff led by Stacie and the night manager were perfect and made sure every attention to detail was done to ensure it was a perfect day, thank you for accommodating me as the DJ www. Warringtondj. Com.
First time staying at Mottram Hall and what a wonderful experience it was. We went for my birthday and arrived to our room to find a very thoughtful card and gift bag (with some spa products) inside and a wonderful welcome message. Completely unexpected but really touched us — incredibly thoughtful! Our stay could not have been better, brilliant food, amazing spa, wonderful and attentive staff. Thank you so much for making my birthday special and we will definitely be back!
Great afternoon tea, very filling, lovely hotel with great atmosphere and great customer service.
Great venue for afternoon tea. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Beautiful place, ģreat food, wonderful spa, lovely surroundings for a walk or golf. Enjoyed an excersize class would highly recommend.
Had our wedding here on 17/04/22 and wow! What an amazing experience! The wedding coordinators Alex and Joanne have looked after us for the past 2 years while we have planned! They have done everything they can and gone above and beyond! Then on the day we had Paul look after us who was absolutely amazing and friendly and just made the day run smoothly and perfect! I really can’t thank the hotel enough! We had one slight hiccup with rooms but we were then given a bottle of bubbly from Ella at our meal for the mix up which made the night before the wedding more fun! The staff were great and really wanted to make us happy and I would recommend everyone to get married here! The service is amazing from start to finish and I’m so so happy I chose to have my special day here! Thank you everyone ❤️
Recently visited the spa and contracted folliculitis from contaminated water in the jacuzzi No response from managers despite contacting them via email and no phones answered Exceptionally poor customer service given a significant public health concern.
Impossible to use a gift voucher for beauty treatment. The online system doesn’t recognise the voucher codes, no one replies to emails and no one answers the phone!
Just had a fabulous 1 night spa stay! What an amazing hotel, beautiful spa, the staff are all so helpful and friendly and the lunch, dinner and breakfast were the best I’ve ever eaten at a spa hotel!
I haven’t even visited yet, but I’m already irritated at the appalling customer service. Impossible to get through on the phone, the website is useless and emails are ignored. A loyal Champneys customer for over 20 years, this is not the level of service I’m accustomed to. If I hadn’t paid upfront I’d be cancelling my upcoming booking and looking elsewhere.
After celebrating our Tenth Wedding Anniversary last night; We would like to say a HUGE thank-you to the dedicated teams at Mottram Hall who, from the word go have been helpful, flexible, professional, well organised and good humoured even with last minute changes. We were very impressed and our guests were amazed by the St Andrews Suite, the service by the team, quality of the food, and the bespoke menu for a friend with severe food allergies. Our suite was beautiful, classic in style and so spacious that we could have drinks with some friends later on in the evening. My hairdresser commented on professionalism of the reception team who offered to help her to our suite. Alex is very personable, and was always on hand either by phone or e-mail which helped to make organising a large event in a pandemic very smooth and stress free! We enjoyed a private breakfast this morning with some 18 guests who had stayed over — bleary eyed thanks to the late night bar! ) The team in the Carrington Grill reserved a dining room for us, the food selection was plentiful and cooked to a high standard. Thank you once again we have all taken away memories which I am sure we will treasure in years to come!
Spent our anniversary here. Lovely location, good food and very welcoming and attentive staff.
Almost impossible to book as nobody answers the phone so you're forced to go onto the website to book everything including any beauty/spa treatments you want. The website is an absolute nightmare to navigate, something that should have only taken 10 minutes tops over the phone took over 2 hours because their website is so user UNfriendly, SO frustrating it's enough to make you want to give up. We discovered that the treatments we had booked on the website only to find that there were alternatives we could have had if we had been able to talk to a real live person.
We booked evening meals via email then discovered when we arrived that they had not been booked at all. We booked lunch and when we arrived were told NO lunch was being served!
Omg I could go on but it would take me forever. This was an anniversary treat for our wedding anniversary so it was meant to be special, we didn't care how much we spent BECAUSE it was special but it was certainly NOT worth the money. Food was cold when it arrived which you don't expect at £40 a plate.
We complained to Mottram Hall and was contacted by the Manager who made an appointment with us to call us to discuss the problem, a specific time on a specific day. So we waited… and we waited… and we waited… 4 and a half hours later she rang. To be fair she did apologise saying she had been in meetings, oh wait she had a meeting with us too but we didn't count!
Another "appointment" was made for the next day.
Afternoon tea was such a lovely experience, delicious and the staff we just so friendly. Highly recommended for a gift of just a different Sunday afternoon experience.
Thank you Mottram Hall and the staff for such a pleasant experience we will be back.
Utterly appalling food. I was on a golf package. Room perfectly adequate. Golf was good and well organised. Was hoping to swim but not prepared to pay an extra £15 to do so. We did not have our evening meal in the main hotel restaurant and had pre ordered. Prawn cocktail so cold it was tasteless and watery. Steak and ale pie disgusting…. Pre bought with chips and peas floating in gravy. Cheese and biscuits…I’d given up by then! Chaotic breakfast. They need to up their game.
Fantastic spa day Jenny on the spa reception went out of her way to make us feel very welcome this is our second spa in 3 weeks will definitely be back ❤️
Tried to book a hotel room, nobody answered the telephone, booked somewhere else. Very poor customer service.
The customer service is very poor. No one ever answers the telephones.
Visited totally roar some in the grounds and very good family event.
We attended Totally Roarsome yesterday within the woods on your grounds, we had the most amazing time. What an fantastic activity to have running for children & adults alike. We all had fun walking round the woods which are magical, doing the quiz, the children loved all the different characters and just enjoying time out and about with the family. We felt safe at all times and the staff running it were really helpful & friendly. Thank you.
Amazing 🤩! As good as was recommended.
Very disappointed and not worth the money.
I booked my parents in for afternoon tea as they are great lovers of Piano music. They were thrilled from start to finish with the service, food and particularly the live piano music which they said really set their afternoon apart from the norm. They’re already talking about next time. Many thanks to everyone at Mottram.
Great experience at the spa today! Thoughtful touches with complimentary breakfast and Prosecco for a birthday. Huge thank you to Amy for taking so much time and care with us — fabulous consultation and service from her! Thank you so much Amy :)
We recently got married at Mottram hall and it was incredible! I can’t thank the staff and wedding coordinators enough. Paul was our wedding coordinator on the day and he was fantastic! He ensured everything went smoothly for us and looked after myself and my husband on the day. The service from start to finish has been fantastic, I felt from day one we were in the best hands. Thank you again Mottram Hall :) we shall be visiting again soon. X.
Beautiful Hotel settings to die for, staff so wonderful and if you love golf FAB or golf widow Spa opening soon WIN WIN all round.
Went for a Spa Day, ended up on a building site, the booking for the Spa day should never have been taken, not all the facilities that was promised on the £150 gift voucher purchased was available. Lunch that was supposed to be HOT was actually COLD we reported this to the staff and all they did was to put an extra burner under the tepid food not very hygienic, food was not labelled for allergy information and when we ordered a pot of tea, was hounded for the £5.00, 4 times they came for the money whilst eating our food. We were wearing the complimentary robes supplied and swimsuits, where they thought we were going to run to dressed like that I do not know. To get to the dining room we had to walk through another dining area which was quite busy felt quite embarrassed. The jacuzzi was full of floating greasy scum on the water, we choose a pedicure as the treatment but it was just a tidy up file and polish not great by any stretch of the imagination all in all a very very very ad experience, we planned on staying and enjoying the day, but only stayed approximately 3 and a half hours, couldn't wait to get back home.
Many thanks to everyone at Mottram Hall had the most amazing day at Matty and Jess’s wedding fabulous venue, lovely food and drink and the staff were fantastic would highly recommend.
Stayed last Saturday and had an issue HOWEVER the Junior Manager James was fantastic and really made amends with our stay! Sometimes things happen in business but good companies do their upmost to correct and leave the customer happy… Mottram Hall certainly did that. Huge thanks to James a credit to the Hotel and other staff who were very attentive and we couldn’t fault.
Lovely menu and staff very pleasant. Fabulous surroundings.
Attended the Pitter Wedding here a few weeks back and I could not find a fault anywhere. Staff are friendly and attentive. The hotel was clean and tidy and grounds are very well looked after. Ideal for those wedding pictures. Over all a very enjoyable experience. 5 stars.
Great golf course and all staff.
Staff first class and food fantastic. Highly recommend.
Welcoming staff and professional, the hotel is always immaculate just a great place to enjoy whether it's short or long stay.
highly recommend.
We had a lovely afternoon tea with very attentive staff glass of champagne.
Fantastic place very relaxing and of high standards. Only downside I would recommend paying a bit extra for bigger room. We had a standard twin room and was very small. Would also recommend visiting the spa. Gym well equipped and leasure facilities very good.
The spa day was brilliant, the staff was soo pleasant, surrounding so relaxed, the lunch was lovely, we will definitely try and come back, shamefully I forgot the name of the lady that gave me a massage, but she was lovely! Thank you for a totally relaxed day x.
I'm delighted to have chosen Mottram Hall as the home of our Business Mastermind.
the restaurant, rooms, spa, gym and conference facilities are all first class, very attentive staff and a great atmosphere for our clients to work and relax in.
Golf society weekend, great course, great staff, can’t fault it.
Good breakfast in the breakfast room with the breakfast staff who were polite and well dressed when they served the breakfast.
The rooms were nicely decorated. The food was excellent and well presented. We enjoyed a walk in the lovely grounds in the morning.
Had a wonderful spa day with my daughter today staff very friendly and helpful the spa was very relaxing and the treatments were amazing felt very chilled out thanks to Bernie would Definitely come here again.
Stayed in mottram hall for my friends birthday, she had flown in from Belfast for a weekend of r+r which we didn't get. First of all despite booking a twin room we were issued a double room. No biggie and this was swapped. On the second day we attempted to book an afternoon tea we had to attend the reception desk three times before the staff were able to book this in each time to be told "I'm new and don't know how to do it and every time you come X is busy I can't help it". Not the kind of service you expect at a four start hotel. Come the final day of our stay we had booked in for treatments in the spa. When we arrived we were seated in the spa area and left to wait 20 min BEFORE being told our treatments had been cancelled, offered vouchers to be sent that day via email which we are still waiting for, the cards we were asked to fill in with our personal data were left by the staff member on a table and I had to pick them up and ask for them to be disposed off (breach of data protection, anyone could have accessed that information). And thirdly, the afternoon tea we had so many issues booking — six staff stood at the reception desk not doing anything, in the two hours we were seated we were checked on twice — and that was only after we had complained about the lack of service, asked to see a duty manager no one came but given 30% off bill, still 42 pound for a very basic, badly presented afternoon tea.
I booked a spa and pimms pamper package day for my partner for her birthday. It was a disaster from start to finish. I have been several times before and even stayed at Mottram and had raved about it. Firstly, we stood at reception for ages listening to staff chatting in a back room, several patrons came and tutted, one even going behind the desk to help himself to a towel. We were sent walking all through hotel to front bar in our spa gowns and slippers for our food. We even had to ask for the pimms we should have been greeted with. One of the other diners made very loud complaint about us sitting there, already mortified, in our spa wear. It was just awful. I had plans to book the spa for my daughters and I for Christmas surprise but I will not be back. Very annoyed as it ruined my partners birthday.
Although we managed to book a spa day only a week prior too, It turned out to be a bit a of a disappointing experience. The changing rooms were dirty (wet, gritty floor), and smelled like the drains were blocked in the ladies. My sister and I booked treatments (full body massages). The massages were not enjoyable, there was no technique at all, and it felt really rushed. We came out not feeling relaxed, we just wanted to leave straight away. The whole ambiance was lacking. I won’t be returning unfortunately, which is a shame.
Breakfast buffet was good but first we got allocated a room overlooking the car park even though we had spoke to them a few days earlier and they had said we had a room overlooking the golf course. Also there were very loud weddings that kept us up all night until about 3. Also, a minor point was that the key cards kept stopping working.
Stayed in the Sutherland suite the night of my wedding. It was absolutely stunning, incredinin bath and shower, ginormous comfortable bed and brilliant spa facilities. We had a lot of luggage that all needed to leave the hotel at different times and this was handled fantastically. The staff were all very welcoming and very polite. I'd like to make special mention of Steven the concierge who helped us with our bags at least 6 times! All in all couldn't have asked for a better place to spend my wedding night.
We enjoyed the golf course, which was only in average condition as it is still suffering from the persistent dry weather. On this warm day, we would normally have opted for a buggy but again at £35 for a round it was over the top price wise. No wonder there were so many buggies parked up in the buggy park! The hotel accommodation was satisfactory but the drinks and food prices in the main restaurant are ridiculously excessive for what you receive unless you're on an advertised package deal. The lunchtime food we ordered in the Claret Jug while not cheap was plentiful and a bit closer to value for money! That said, £11 for a large glass of house wine! £6 for a few pieces of bread and a choice of oils as a starter in the Carrington Restaurant is ludicrous. Overall a somewhat disappointing visit.
A very nice hotel but contacting the hotel before arriving took over 50mins on hold on the automated queuing system before talking to a person. The customer service was average nothing special and that’s being kind. Bar staff were busy talking not serving. Prices are very high but this hotel is very luxurious so to be expected. Would have been a 3 star review but for my wife who did enjoy the weekend very much.
My boyfriend treated me to my 21st birthday present here. We had the best time, they decorated the room for me which was so cute! Both had a treatment, the girls did an amazing job! Spa is so relaxing and sitting under the starts in the hot tub at night was surreal. Its only a short drive away to restaurants if you don’t wish to eat there. Everything was perfect. Definitely recommend!
Great reception, staff and felt very welcomed. No air conditioning due to building being listed. It is a very pretty building, but by god did I sweat in that room with this hot weather. Breakfast was top notch, sausages must be locally sourced. They tasted amazing. Also went round the golf course, and a lovely course it is too which I couldn't fault, apart from the bloody crow that stole my bacon sandwich from the golf buggy! Would stay again.
Stayed on a golfing break with 40 ladies. All was perfect, friendly helpful staff and superb accommodation. Enjoyed the adjoining golf course. An excellent place to stay.
Excellent hotel, fantastic leisure facilities and great food. Rooms a little smaller than average perhaps but we'll presented. Staff were all very friendly. I'll be back again, thanks.
Thoroughly enjoyed the visit at Mottram Hall, very self-contained, we ate twice and the flexibility in selection from the menu was as good as the food contained there in. Golfed, the professional staff were as good as the Golf course. Very relaxing even though it was very busy. I noticed that there were many Suites but none available for an upgrade. I would return for a further visit.
Attended for a wedding and had a great stay, the staff couldn't do enough for us, as a wedding guest and for our overnight stay. The rooms were lovely and the beds really comfortable. Grounds are beautiful and the spa lovely too.
Fantastic hotel and staff! — I booked a one night spa break here with a friend which included a spa treatment, light lunch, evening meal and breakfast the next morning with full use of the hotel/spa facilities. Not only was the deal amazing value for money, the staff at the spa and main hotel went out of their way to make my stay even more special. I was also very impressed with the comprehensive choice of vegetarian options on the menu. I would highly recommend the spa break deal to others and will be visiting again soon myself!
Stayed in the Spencer Suite. Lovely comfortable room with everything I needed. Staff very polite and friendly without being overly so. One night stay wasn't enough.
Lovely hotel. Stayed for a spa break overnight. Food was exceptional. Only issue, though slight was paying for 60 minute treatment and only receiving 40 minutes. Otherwise faultless.
Spa was nice. Massage was good. Decent buffet lunch but a bit cramped for seating as so many other people also on spa days. Hard to get a lie down bed by pool. Not the best spa I've ever been to so not 5 stars.
We had a nice spa day there. We started with a great massage. After this season we relaxed in the sauna and pool. There was a small down side, in the relax area are to less possible space if you stay there on a Friday.
Very welcoming. Spotlessly clean. Amazing food. Jacuzzi and swimming pool is amazing and spar very relaxing amazing place x.
Great place. The gym is small but well equipped. The two outside saunas are much better than ordinary saunas. They are cooler and more comfortable. There is also an ordinary sauna, two jacuzzi's, a steam room and a swimming pool with seating around it. The whole place is very clean and there is plenty of free parking. I'm not interested in Golf but the course is very popular. The only thing I don't like is the swimming pool should be deeper. It is only waist deep.
Had a nice day at the spa. It was very modern and clean. We got a lounger each but as it got busier people were not able to find free ones. Hot tub was nice but would have been better if drinks were availble while in there. Would definitely go back.
Nice old building hotel with extensive garden. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. We arrived early, so they let us wait and came to us to give us the room key. They have a very well-known restaurant which you can visit with booking in advance. They also have regular restaurant with good food, including British and Indian food. Great service at the bar and restaurant. The room was spacious and very comfortable. A really good place for away weekend or family time.
I don't know anything about the hotel. Alas, the golf course is a little gem and very well maintained. It has two *very* different nines: the front is gentle and fun to play, the back is lethal and very challenging. Good fun with some hills and beautiful views.
Work christmas do. Worked well for the conference, but evening do could have been better. Food was average and room set up split the bar from the dance floor to much. All staff very professional.
Beautiful hotel with excellent rooms and facilities. Food and drinks were fantastic and great staff. Will definitely stay again.
Fabulous spa break at Mottram Hall. Excellent facilities, delicious food and room was very clean. Special thanks to Tasha and Cathy who gave us excellent spa treatments! We will be back soon!
Myself and my friend had booked an online deal which included; lunch, an hour treatment, evening meal, overnight stay, breakfast and a glass of champagne each.
Check in wasn't until 3 but our treatments were booked at 12. The receptionist had stated we could leave our belongings with them until it was time to check in. They asked for us to leave our cases at the side of reception in the corridor.
We were greeted by the spa staff and given our robes, slippers and towels. The changing rooms are very small and not much room for a lot of people getting ready. We both had face, head and back massages which I am now left with multiple bruises on my back and in a lot of pain since. We felt quite anxious that our cases were left at the side of reception where another member of the public could have taken our belongings.
There were not many beds available at the pool side and the inside jacuzzi was not working. We had asked for our champagne outside at the sun loungers which we were given in plastics pint cups which was not explained. Maybe they could have plastic flutes for the champagne outside inside of pints cups.
We decided to then go and have lunch which had a variety of different foods but we did not know what food was what as they were not labelled. We would have liked a coffee with our dinner but there were no staff members available to ask.
Nice hotel in the middle of the countryside with a golf around, forced to pass by the outside to go from the RE option to the rooms and lunch. Not practical with the local climate. Restaurant with poor service and very slow, and very expensive… but when you are at the hotel there is nothing around.
The venue is lovely. The grounds very well maintained and the staff very attentive. They looked after me very well and I would love to go back.
Great place to stay. Staff were friendly. Food was lovely. Swimming pool was warm.
Popped in for a coffee and catch up with some friends in the golf club house. The food is always excellent but the coffee is 'OK'. Its a great place for a quick snack or lunch.
The venue was beautiful. The room was very nice, a bit warm but spacious and the bed was comfortable. Food was pretty good for a wedding event and the staff was generally attentive. We had a great time and the pool and spa were very good too.
Great wedding venue rooms very good drinks a bit pricey.
Nice hotel, really nice golf course although its long and difficult. Didnt use all the spa facilities but the ones I did were in good condition and clean.
I recently stayed at Mottram Hall for the first time. It has lovely grounds and is a very large grand building. Being so big it is clear it is in some need of a general makeover internally. The window catch in our bedroom was swinging with a screw missing. (280) The room was rather warm and the window was restricted so we could not cool the bedroom down although there was a fan in the wardrobe to use. Breakfast was nice apart from the mouldy bread I discovered. After making staff aware a new loaf was brought out and that was also mouldy. Not what I expected of a place like Mottram Hall. This did spoil my experience somewhat and staff apologised for this. Don't think I will stop again.
Well this is very nice hotel food is great staff are wonderful been 5 times and can't wait to go back again. Great smashing super.
Lovely spa break at Mottram Hall for my mams birthday. The spa treatment we received was so relaxing that I almost fell asleep! Beautiful food on the evening too. The only negative thing about the experience was me being woken up at 2.30am by other guests banging their doors and shouting for a good hour or so.
Fantastic setting with stunning grounds however don't expect much from the food or the staff. From stale bread used for sandwiches to overcooked main meals I can't believe they have an AA rosette. Room service doesn't answer the phone so go through reception however be prepared for a wait of about an hour for a sandwich longer for cooked food. The staff are aloof and unhelpful. The waiting staff are poorly trained and unprofessional. This could be a fantastic place if they sorted out the food and trained their staff.
Mottram Hall provided a very hit and miss experience, making a star rating really tough. The hotel itself is situated in expansive grounds that encompass a golf course, so parking at peak times is at a premium. Once parked and checked in, the building itself is like a huge maze — not once did I take the same route to my room! The room itself was compact, a little too small as the chair for the desk butted up against the foot of the bed. The walls between rooms was also wafer thin. However, the attentive service from the staff, a very pleasant dinner and impressive breakfast buffet, and a well stocked and serviced bar made up for some of the other shortcomings. Whether it's ultimately good value friends on the rate you pay, and I can imagine some being unhappy. However, our tab was quite low, certainly no more than a Hilton or Holiday Inn, making it a (just about) pleasing experience.
A attend for a conference. The service and rooms were very good.
Superb overnight stay. Dinner, bed and breakfast package excellent value.
The grounds were really nice when we approached. The reception staff are polite, friendly and helpful. The hotel was lovely, clean and the room was nice. Had a great stay. The breakfast the next morning had great selection and it was very tasty.
Excellent facilities and a perfect golf course… back 9 is a challenging for any level of golfer.
Nice place in pleasing surroundings. Small part of the building historic the rest fairly new addition (in comparison). Looks like a good place to get married. Food is good with a good choice.
Nice hotel in a lovely location. A couple of minor irritations prevented this from being a five star stay.
Amazing food, both breakfast and dinner, friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere makes a stay at the hall relaxing even when attending business meetings. Only small issue is its distance from the airport but that does not detract from it.
Room was very nice and lovely grounds, service was mediocre unfortunately.
We stayed in the wonderful Cheshire Suite. The reception were absolutely brilliabtbabd helped with a number of queries. The venue was gorgeous, clean, and had a brilliant swimming pool and outdoor facilities, 100% well be be attending again!
Great rooms, very large. Staff go out of their way to help, brilliant service. Fantastic place to stay.
Friendly and helpfull staff. Nice and clean room.
Food was great, massage was average but the facial treatment was exceptional however found one of the managers rude and lacked people skills.
Excellent lunch at the Carrington Grill, although prosecco arrived after the starter, and there was no bread. But fab food, generous portion size (loads of veg) including divine creme brûlée.
Nice location but otherwise better off in a premium inn. The hotel and rooms are clean. The staff was very nice however there are many problems especially considering the supposed quality and the actual price of the hotel. The room I had was at the back with the worst possible view of the kitchen. The room was to warm and there was no air con. Opening the window just let all the kitchen smells in and the bathroom window was screwed shut!? The doors to the room slam shut and even the walls shook when it happens. Better just visit the place, have walk as its free but then drive to a cheaper and better place. Been in better Travelodges. Everyone raves about the food but I never got to try it as the restaurant was booked solid : — ( Oh. The one thing they had in common with a Travelodge was that they don't have any power sockets near the bed so you can't charge and keep your phone close to you. In one word. Disappointing.
Stayed here last night after a Conference. Whilst the rooms are nice enough, the walls are as thin as those found in a 1970's Barratt House. It wasn't just the guys snoring from the next room that kept me awake, it was the noise of residents in rooms around me flushing their toilets. Nice food and staff but the sound proofing was appalling. Wouldn't stay again. Shame as looks lovely from the outside.
Spa was great — Brechelbath and Stone bath made nice alternatives to a steam room (although there was a normal steam room and sauna too). The spa treatment area has a comfortable and relaxing ambiance and treatments were enjoyable. It was just a shame that the tables for two in the restaurant were pushed so close together. It felt awkward sitting so close to the next table and we weren't the only ones to ask to sit elsewhere. All the staff (reception, bar, restaurant and spa) were friendly and happy to do all they could to help.
Hi. I attended today, 16th Aug 2013, with Hesketh Artisans Golf Club and found the experience first class. The food and hospitality were exceptional and the days golf was great. The pro staff in the caddy shop were extremely helpful and the bar and food service staff polite and courtious. Would recommend the venue to anyone be it golfers of visitors alike. Looking forward to next year. Rob Dunn.

Just had a really enjoyable overnight spa break at Mottram hall. Particularly loved the steam room (best one I’ve been in), the lane swimming pool and the outdoor pool. Treated myself to some of the products from the shop too. The facilities were great and the food was delicious. Service at dinner was quite slow but we didn’t mind the relaxed service given how yummy the food was. The spa deal was a bargain, but be prepared for the extras as a lot of things are at an additional cost! Overall, I would highly recommend and we will be back for sure 👍
