Had a great stay at the lodge and a fantastic evening dinner with friends the food was beautiful and we stayed in the hotel on the Saturday night. the room was lovely, beds were excellent and very very clean. In the morning excellent breakfast a great place to stay if you want to rest away from the hustle and bustle of the town with a car park…….

Myself and my partner had a carvery here today, the staff couldn’t be more accommodating, I was going to sit outside due to having chemotherapy treatment for cancer I’m advised not to be near many people, when I requested this, the staff gave us our own little table by ourselves away from the restaurant as maybe bit cold outside, they were so helpful and kind, the food was absolutely amazing the main and pudding, table service was amazing, we had a lovely time, we have been coming here for a few years now and highly recommend.

Just home from two night stay at The Lodge. Clean, warm room.
The breakfast was good and the evening meal was superb.
The service at The Lodge is exceptional. The lady who checked us in on Friday evening was very busy but maintained a professional and friendly service, and a special mention to Beth who served us at both dinner and breakfast. She was polite, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. A few more hotels and restaurant staff could learn a lot from her.

Such a fabulous evening with friends yesterday at Winchelsea Lodge. So lovely to sit and watch the sunset while we ate our dinner and then to sit round the fire pit afterwards. Amazing food, attentive and friendly staff, fantastic service and atmosphere. We were a group of 8 and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

Someone recommended the lodge for a take away roast, so thought I'd give them a try.
all I can say is wow. It was delicious. The flavour even in the suede mash was incredible.

Had a recent stay; our room was really comfortable and warm. I loved the feeling that we were in our own apartment, rather than just a room. The food was exceptional, we had dinner in the restaurant and breakfast too, very delicious. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. We will definitely come and stay again, for longer than one night, next time! Thank you all.

We really enjoyed our long weekend here. The room was comfy and food good for breakfast and dinner. We loved the location too with lovely places to walk. We were most impressed and grateful for the family feel. The staff were very accommodating and helpful and went above and beyond, for example when we went to the bar to buy some milk for our toddler at bedtime, they gave it to us free of charge.

We had a takeaway fish & chips, pizza and southern fried chicken tonight. It was all delicious! We had been missing KFC and the southern fried chicken in particular was out of this world.

Everything about the place rooms are great food is excellent especially the poached eggs lee and fantastic hosts me and donna had a great 2 days there.

Great place to stay over and only a short drive to the beach and Rye town. Very friendly accommodating staff providing over and above customer service. Rooms very comfortable and clean. Would recommend highly and happily stay over again.

Lovely little hotel on the road between Rye and Hastings. Good food, very nice room and staff. Enjoyed it very much.

Staff are lovely, can't do enough for you. Lovely location and really cute lodges. They are just a little tired looking and could do with an update. But fantastic if you have kids as the family room set ups are great.

I would call it a great motel. You can park your car directly under your apartment. Private bathroom with shower, Wi-Fi and TV. Very nice rooms with picturesque views of large sheep meadows. Really nice, we'll be back!

Another lovely stay at the Lodge with Debbie and her staff. Always made welcome. I would highly recommend a stay here ideal location.

We stayed here overnight during the bank holiday weekend. Accommodation was clean and tidy. Situation of the hotel was handy for the surrounding area.
Our room was opposite the kitchen whose fan was very very noisy. Even more noisy for us as it was very warm and there was no fan or air conditioning so we had to have the windows wide open. Kitchen fan turned off late and on early.
No blind on the landing window meant the room was flooded by light as soon as the sun began to come up around 4.30.
Breakfast was nice, when it came after 45 minutes and after several times of asking.
This hotel was ok but I wouldn't stay again if there was somewhere else.

What an amazing place. Excellent hospitality. The staff are so helpful and accommodating. The rooms are cosy, warm, clean and finished to a very high standard. Enjoy your stay.

The food was lovely and hot when brought to the table. Staff very friendly, and nice relaxing atmosphere. The music was just loud enough to hear but not too much to put you off. Price was reasonable too x.

Best food ever! I can't believe how professional everyone is and the level of service. My family recommended this place and I also brought my oversees girlfriend here.

I went to the Lodge for 2 days and it was the best hotel I have been to in the whole of England. My room was lovely, the food was so tasty and the staff were so kind ti my family and I. I don't mind living there, that's how much I enjoyed it. I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

The lodge is a great place for Sunday lunch or any other occasion, good great, service friendly and efficient, place clean, the only thing it was a bit warm so don't wear thick jumpers. X.

I would like to say a big thank you to the wonderful staff SAT EVE, NOV 18… My wife and I were "supposed" to be staying in PLAYDEN. Unfortunately circumstances made us decide to leave, we didn't want to come home as it was my wife's birthday, we really did not expect to get anywhere else at such short notice, but we were able to go to WINCHELSEA LODGE, we were made so welcome, we ate there, it was lovely and such friendly staff… So a big big thank you… We will be BACK!

Initially we had to ask to move rooms as it was unclean and had a used toothpick and hair in the bedside drawer and yellow stains on the towels! The 2nd room we got was dark and the window looked straight into the kitchen meaning we had to keep the blind closed the entire time! The room was covered in dust, the remote didn't work, the glasses were used, the toilet was broken meaning it moved when you sat on it and it was definitely NOT the 4* accommodation I was expecting! The only positive I have is that the staff were friendly. I would definitely NOT be recommend this 'hotel' to anyone.

The lodge food establishment has many great featuers such as;Excellent food, friendly staff, clean environment, easy free parking, dog friendly outside over all wonder place to eat.

Nice small place strongly recommending booking in advance if going and more than 3 people I had the rump steak which I can strongly recommend very good price for what you get.

Service quick and easy. Food very good and the Sunday roast is how your mum would make it. Staff really friendly and helpful. A MUST to eat place.

Used as our base for a mini south coast tour. Room was clean. But what I really don't understand is why they decided to build it with views of the other buildings tiled roof when they could have reversed the aspect and everyone would have amazing views of the country side at the rear. Only other gripe is that it's the only place I have ever stayed that charges for a cooked breakfast, even the pastries have to be ordered rather than self help.

Stayed here three years ago, but I remember it for all the right reasons. The only gripe, which is the reason I've given four stars instead of the full five, is they stop serving food far too early. I seem to remember it being half seven! This of course could have changed since March 2014. On the one occasion I did dine in in the early evening the food was fantastic and I'd be more than happy to recommend.

This lovely lodge is where I stayed on my wedding night to my soul mate in 2013. We have been coming here ever since. I don't really want to tell you that room 6 is the best! We won't stay here unless it's room 6! I have never experienced any other room. Just the views from room 6 change from season to season … no bunnies today. They are in the spring. But plenty of sheep, ducks and swans. We just come here to chill and relax now, the staff know us. They are lovely. The chefs menu is amazing and exquisitely cooked and very generous. Continental breakfast is included in the rate but you can still have full English and more! The lodge is clean, warm, comfortable and friendly and if you want time away from it all it's just perfect. There's lots of things around for you to do … Hastings, Rye, Rye Harbour and Winchelsea Beach etc. I've been lucky enough to be able to travel home and abroad … this is the only place in the world I repeatedly come back too. We spent a lovely new year complete with celebrations new year 2015. It was amazing and me and my
Husband hate new year! Highly highly recommended by me.

Very nice Sunday evening meal. Great views over countryside and a good atmosphere.

We stayed here one night in September 2015 on our way from Cornwall back home to Germany. It was the first (and last) time that we split our 1100 km car ride into two days and stayed over night near the 50% mark on our route. We booked a family room in advance and arrived at around 7pm. The Lodge is located next to a busy and loud road that felt more like a racing circuit. The speed limit must be around 90 and motor bikes and fast cars don't even think about lowering their speed when they pass. The dinner was extraordinary! Perfect food and service at a good price (5*). The family room was big enough but stale and it's interior dated. We didn't like it at all but took it for granted since it was already late and our daughter was tired (2*). Since we really like Full English Breakfast we skipped the included continental and ordered Full English for the three of us. To be honest this was the most disgusting food we ever got served in 8 years traveling the UK! The scrambled eggs were almost raw (liquid egg white and yellow), the mushroom was totally burned, the bacon not crisp but soft and greasy. We just finished one of three plates and returned the remainings to the kitchen. Although 2 of 3 plates were almost untouched, no one wondered nor asked for the reason. But since we had another 6 hours car ride on our schedule we didn't want to risk our stomachs health.

Dont stay here unless you want to be cut off from civilisation. No mobile signal and poor Wi-Fi. Very noisy area outside the bedrooms.
