Amazing meal! best meal we have had in Scotland. I had the scallops with pea puree for starters, lovely and sweet and succulent, cooked to perfection. Followed by the medallions of beef with cut like butter they were so tender, topped off with fresh raspberry mousse. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was very reasonably priced, I would recommend everyone to go and eat at this hotel.

Had a delicious family dinner here, recommend the scallop starter! Waiter was not very good, but the rest of the team made up for it. Stopped by for a lunchtime drink the next day, but unfortunately the bar doesn't open until 4pm.

Really kind staff, good range of food made to order in café and nicely presented. I had crab sandwich which was delicious. Very hot under glass if sun shining!

Food is good, general Orkney hotel and pub grub. Haven't stayed the night though.

Food was very good and relatively quick service. Was nice to be able to order from both the restaurant and bar menus. Will certainly be going back to try one of their burgers! The restaurant is nicely decorated and feels quite homely. It was a nice quiet atmosphere during our meal, but some background music might have made it even better, especially when the front bar got quite busy.

Only reviewing the bar here. Its ok for a quick drink. Very small bar area and lack of seating. One ale Scapa Special was served colder than should be.

Great Hospitality, I was made to feel very welcome from the moment I checked in. Rooms are very homely and spotlessly clean. A good selection of tolietries and a large bathroom with combined shower/bathtub. The double bed was extremely comfortable. The choice of food was excellent and did not disappoint, my mix grill was delicious and we'll priced. The bar was well apointed with good selection of draft beers. Sky sports was a bonus. I have to mention the bar maid, great customer service and engaging. All in all I would definitely return here without hesitation.

We stayed for one night at this hotel. The room was ok, clean and a good size but lacked things like a pen to write your breakfast order with. The breakfast was not good enough for the price. It was advertised as having Wi-Fi, however we could only connect to the Internet using it if we stood in the car park. This was the most expensive place we stayed and the most disappointing. We did not, however, make use of the restaurant so have not included this in the review. The bar was sparsely furnished and a bit tatty.

Everything you could need as a base for exploring the Orkney mainland. Good food and a warm welcome.
