Was there yesterday for late lunch, staff on arrival were efficient, change of staff at 3 were a different story. Took 30 minutes for anyone to come near to offer dessert or another drink. There were only 2 other tables so not that busy, staff too busy checking computer and chatting to each other. Had to go to bar to order another drink as did another table each time they wanted a drink. Staff friendly and polite when they did come to table just wish it was more often.

Visited last night although the food was lovely the waitress was very rude. Basically got thrown out after our 2 hours. Not a polite can you take your drinks into the bar perhaps but a ‘we need the table’. She said to one customer ‘you’ll just have to be patient’ it was obvious he was not impressed. It did look like she was in her own and it was quite busy but no need to be rude. We heard her saying to a member of staff that ‘she was in a mood’. Well that much was obvious. Very disappointed.

Fab afternoon at the Laurel Bank! Great service by staff, in particular Alastair who was happy to serve us constant cocktails which was not an easy task for 12 females! Excellent experience! Thanks! :)

We had our wedding reception at the Laurel bank last night, what a great team, Lee and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we wanted and that our guests were looked after, our room was lovely and clean and the breakfasts delicious, the disco and lighting, the bar staff were exceptional all the staff are friendly, we will certainly be back soon. Thank you.

Staff were great, food outstanding, great place to stay, Susan the barmaid in the Elby Inn was brilliant, great hotel.

Great menu. The food was really tasty. The staff looked after us well. Great choice of cocktails. What’s not to like! I would highly recommend giving the Laurel Bank a visit. We will be back soon.

My husband and I reverently had our wedding reception here! (2.4.22) 3rd time lucky! From start to finish nothing was too much hassle. I had my wedding here on 22.2.22. my day was absolutely perfect from the first minute I contacted Lee and the staff they went above and beyond to ensure we had the most amazing day. I honestly can't thank them enough on behalf of my self my husband and all our guests for making sure the day was 110% perfect. The staff were so patient and extremely helpful and friendly nothing was to much hassle for them. The food was fantastic and amazing portions too every guest commented on how delicious it all was. We had our cocktails made by Gary on Saturday night and every one of them (there were a lot 🤣) were absolutely spot on! Really delicious and looked beautiful. Our meal was lovely too and all the staff were very friendly and polite. These are really trying times for the hospitality industry and we appreciated every minute of it. 🖤

Enjoyed a great lunch today after a walk around park. Staff were great and food was awesome. Placed looked so fresh since last in couple years ago, new owner really turned it around! Great menu choices.

Really enjoyed an early evening meal here with my partner and 2 kids. Food was delicious and service was excellent. My son had a pizza which was clearly freshly made. Very helpful and friendly staff who were all attentive. Only one thing I would say was not all staff were wearing face coverings which wasn't ideal in my opinion. I'm not sure what the guidelines are for this but personally I prefer for waiting staff to be wearing face coverings.

I visited yesterday for the Boozy Brunch. It was just such an amazing experience. The staff were lovely, friendly and attentive. We both ordered the Halloumi and Red Pepper Wrap and Wow it was Delicious. Drinks we had in the deal were Wine, Pornstar Martini, Gin Fizz and another Wine. I think we both agreed our favourite was the Gin Fizz. Very Well Done to all at The Laurel Bank. Loving all the deals you have on and We will definately be back soon.

Being a frequent visitor of the Laurel bank I’d like to congratulate they on how the place has dramatically improved👏. The food was excellent and the staff were so nice and enthusiastic. Long may it continue.

Visited last night with family. Table of 5 ladies catching up with good food and cocktails. Food was delicious and freshly made. Service was excellent and we also got a table in the Kincky COO which has great atmosphere and music. Table service from app was fab. Will defo be back when in area.

Enquired about booking a private dining space for a 70th celebration very last minute due to Change of plans because of weather. Manager was great and very accommodating.
Space was fab — great for a family get together with kids! food was excellent and staff couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful — great service 👍🏻 Well done Laurel bank — great to see it back in goods hands! Only one Constructive criticism — no alcohol free wine or fizz behind the bar for the birthday girl 🥲!
However pints and cocktails were fab 😀😀

Had our wedding reception here and it was amazing. Staff were friendly and helpful when arranging everything for the day and were amazing on the day. Food was lovely and drinks were easily ordered through the app. Returned for a meal a few days later and standards were as high as expected. Would highly recommend.

After a disappointing visit, we headed back down when I seen it was back to The Laurel Bank and so happy we did! Great food & service. Can’t wait to get back down for the afternoon tea, drinks and try the roast dinner! Definitely recommend.

Was in a few weeks back before everything got locked down and had a lovely meal. Can see lots of positive changes already… service was more friendly and quicker, food much better (mac cheese was amazing! ), menu had a good choice and at an affordable price. Was looking forward to going back again but might have to wait a while! Will give me something to look forward to though!

Food was so good, staff friendly only downside was … wee bit chilli where we were sitting!

Spent two nights at this hotel Greg and his team made it an extremely enjoyable experience. The bar is a friendly place to sit for a few drinks, the food was amazing. The room was clean warm and comfy.

The food could gave been better for the price toure paying. Also not having enough staff on the bar making a 20 minute wait for drinks.

Meal was excellent and staff were great. We were able to take our dog in and it was really appreciated. Can highly recommend.

Lovely friendly welcoming staff and good overall cleanliness, however, the food was a huge letdown the starters were good but the mains awful, the burger was bone dry and the steak pieces inside the pie were dry too, the chips looked absolutely incredible but guess what? They were bone dry too! So much so I had to swallow it with a gulp of my drink didn’t eat half of it and wasn’t questioned nor asked if the meal was ok, sadly won’t be returning.

High tea! Should consist of toast & tea first then main meal then cakes & scones with jam & cream not just cream! Service was extremely poor waited 1 and a half for food! Booked a table for 5 pm didn’t leave until 7.30! All tables were unhappy! Overall not a very good experience! We overheard them saying they were understaffed nobody came up to us an apologised for the delay or said they were running late!

Went here for my anniversary with my hubby on Friday and it was amazing the food was brilliant and service was fab. Since it has been taken over it is fantastic not been in a few years when it went down hill but since our experience on Friday we will definitely be back.

Fantastic ambience, amazing food, brilliant prices especially before 7pm. Staff make you very welcome especially Daniel Wilson. Would highly recommend.

Stayed here for 2 nights with family for a nearby wedding, the food we had was very nice, all 25 of us had a great meal. Rooms are very comfortable and breakfast was good and kept you going for hours it was so big, would definitely recommend. Daniel was out waiter for breakfast both mornings and also worked in the bar in the evenings, he is a great lad and couldn't do enough, all of our party commented on how good he was.

Just dire, wrong orders served, severe lack of stock from the menu food served was of mediocre quality, service was generally poor and the atmosphere and attitude of staff sucked. Only good point was the female waitress who was unfortunately run so much off her feet she was out of breath trying to compensate for the lack of effort from the male staff members. I saw her being spoken to like dirt by one of the male employees about our tables order being wrong (which it was but it was his fault not hers). They need to have a serious think about how this place is run and who is serving and cooking their food.

In for dinner tonight that began with techno music blasting from the other bar, poor ambience for a family meal. The service was utterly abysmal, tables were ignored for up to 30-45 mins, condiments took 15 to arrive after we were served our meals, no cutlery provided on two courses and when asking for it we had to ask twice while our food went cold. The first female server was extremely rude (Ashleigh), maybe you need to invest in some customer service training! After waiting 15 minutes at the bar, we were given the wrong bill 3 times at the bar and then noted there was another mistake on our table bill! The manager Greg was the exception, he was mannerable, helpful, served with a smile, if only the rest of his team were as great at customer service. Feels like we were sitting in a sinking ship! Hope they are on better form for the Games day tomorrow!

Hosted my husbands 30th party here in November. The buffet was terrible, I can’t express how disappointed we are with it. The fries were over cooked, hard and cold. The rolls were stale and a number of our guests had commented about it. I feel it was a complete waste of money and we should never have bothered with the buffet at all! It was not worth the £150 whatsoever considering there was about £20 worth of food there! There was nothing there to keep the food hot! And it was just thrown down for us! For being such a reputable venue our guests and ourselves found the toilets dirty and they stunk meaning ladies had to use the disabled toilet as the smell was so bad even from the beginning of the night! This clouded what should’ve been a great night for my husband 30th. Whilst my friend and I were in on the Saturday afternoon decorating we had decided that we would like something to eat, with myself being gluten free I was told that the macaroni would take a long time to cook, that’s fair enough. But the reason for this was that a table of 12 had walked in. I could actually hear your chef complaining about the time it would take to cook, surely that’s his job? I didn’t mind waiting longer for it however I did feel like they were trying to put me off ordering this because it was more hassle for them to make it, another disappointment! Overall experience was disappointing, had we not paid for the buffet before it came out we would have refused to pay for it at all!

Service was excellent from a young girl. Gave good advice on drinks. Meals took a while to come. Steak and onion baguette… still raw and very fatty. Fish and about 7-10 chips. Fish very greasy too much batter. Complained about the steak they took 1 dessert and a coke off the bill. Went to pay at the bar, the bar manager threw a wobbly cos no-one was behind the bar serving. Took a strop and asked WHY? There was a dessert and coke off our bill in not too a nice manner. Customer service skills out the window… we felt let down, it was expensive and didn't really enjoy the meal. Won't be back.

Recently went to drummonds as I won an over night stay and a meal for 4 people. The service from Greg and his team was exceptional. From start to finish we were made really welcome and the meal was really nice. I highly recommend either a meal or an over night stay here, I cannot fault any of it and we will definitely be back soon. We are going to make it a monthly visit!

We where assured early check in as we had a wedding to attend that day. When we got there it was not ready. We had to change in the toilets for our wedding. No complimentary drinks or anything offered.

One star and that's more than they deserve Great room no complai ts there, how ever breakfast well I was told 7, 30 been waiting now for a while, not even a person to say sorry for the wait Avoid if you like prompt service or any kind of service.

Menu was good but the service was slow, overall a good meal but young and new staff should be guided and not left alone.

Stayed here for sisters wedding as she was getting married in the hotel. Rooms were OK. Cheap and cheerful. The cleanliness is the let down! Room didn't get cleaned at all during our stay. Toilet was filthy. Shower cubicle had multiple issues such as mould and poor drainage. And had breakfast served with mould on the mushrooms and bread that was a month out of date. Such shame as hotel could be so good!

Went for an evening meal but quiet a few dishes were off the menu, however, the waiter was so helpful in accommodating our requests it turned out ok. My suggestion is get new chips as all of us who had them commented that they could be better.

Nice pub. Changed a lot over the years but probably best in the village. Not the food though.

Got a nights stay here as a gift. Local Highland games on, hotel had live entertainment on dinner & breakfast both lovely would definitely stay here again.

This place has a problem that needs resolving. Firstly the food is fantastic, the staff are very good. However the service is very slow. I can only think there was one chef trying to do all the work. A few tables were waiting long times for food and drinks to come out. Over 1 hour between courses for us. I went to cancel the main course but it then came out. As I say, food was perfect! There does appear to be an underlying issues with service, lack of chefs?

Extremely poor from start to finish. This is one to miss. Some of the food was inedible. On a plus side the bar was busy and the staff were friendly.

The steak in here is to die for! Expensive, but definitely worth it in my opinion. I love steak! Drummonds does it justice. I'd recommend the fillet with wild mushroom sauce — cooked rare. I used to be a "medium" kinda guy until a friend recommended getting it rare here. They just get it right. Atmosphere is nice. Mellow and slightly dimmed lighting. Noise levels are depicted by the calm chatter of families and couples. Only complaints are that some tables are too close for my liking and the chairs are wobbly to the point where I feel like it's going to collapse whenever I sit down. I'd recommend this for anyone looking to treat themselves and friends/family to a tasty steak dinner.

Good but Wi-Fi didnt work atall upstairs food was great though beds were nice overall really nice.

This is a place that I have never been. But I am sure I will be going back. The staff are very friendly and the food was excellent 10 out of 10 thank you.

Have eaten here twice. Both times bitterly disappointed. Poor excuses for steaks. Very grisly and fatty. Poor service. Waited nearly an hour to get drinks order taken.

Christmas Party Night out not good. Cramped table, overset, meal eaten similar to airplane — extremely squashed in, far too many tables to get to dance floor… wrong meal brought, drinks spilt, cheap fizz sold as prosecco… only good think was food was hot.

Been coming to this place for 20 odd years. The food has always been good and this latest visit didn't fail to impress. All of our party had something different and everyone said that it was a very good meal.

After our oven broke, we were left searching for food.
We had initially discarded this hotel as its online menu do not show any food as suitable for vegetarians.
However, after a quick phonecall, we were pleasantly surprised to hear that the chef could actually accommodate my wife's dietary requirements. Upon arrival, we were given a warm welcome, and we identified ourselves as having made the phone call to them. They took us to our seats, and handed us our menu's.
My wife asked what on the menu was vegetarian, and the server was extremely helpful in pointing out the options which were suitable, also mentioning that the chef could also adapt certain dishes to meet her requirements. The food came quickly, and it was a very generous portion, and absolutely delicious food. The servers looked after us very well indeed, and were very friendly and happy and helpful. When we came to leave, I produced my credit card to pay. We were told that unfortunately they had been experiencing problems with their card machine. They tried twice to make it work, but it would unfortunately not.
They were extremely apologetic, and asked if we could please go to the cash machine across the road to get cash out to pay.
Whilst I was getting money out, upon my return, 20% discount had been applied to our bill for our troubles which was very generous. They also sent us away with a further two 20% discount vouchers for future visits.

Excellent good. The staff very friendly and helpful. I'll be back.

Food very nice but service left a lot to be desired.

I was at a 40th last night and everything started off great, then the buffet came out. It looked as if you had just ran to asda bought cheap food and flung it on a plate and passed it off as your own. The sausage rolls weren't even individual ones they were large ones cut into pieces, the doughnuts were dry and definitely not fresh and your staff were tidying up food plates while we were all still eating, which I found to be extremely rude. The staff kept leaving the bar after extra had been paid to keep it manned and they were clearing glasses that weren't even empty. Bad performance all round.

Brilliant place for good honest food, staff are inviting and friendly.

Great value hotel with a vouchet.

Stayed overnight at the Drummonds hotel was very good. Was booked through itison. We brought my Grandson and wasn't even charged for him. Food was excellent. Would certainly come back.

I took my husband and daughter here for Father's Day. We were greeted by a smart waiter who showed us to our table and asked if we would like drinks. We had drinks then ordered from the menu. My husband had the steak special, £20 including a beer! My daughter had the fish and chips and I ordered the smocked haddock. When it arrived the presentation was amazing. We are fussy people but within minutes of tasting the food knew we were in for a brilliant meal. The steak was done to perfection medium rare, my daughters fish and chips were incredible (how do they make that batter so crispy)? My haddock was mouth watering and there was nothing left on our plates. Sticky toffee pudding for sweet and ice cream, wow I could've eaten 3 but was full. Compliments to the chef and staff, first class, we will be back.

Visited recently for a lunchtime meal with a few friends. Staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. Food was of a very high standard and prices really good. Service was also first class and our waitress did everything she could to ensure we had the best possible experience. My first visit and I would highly recommend anyone to give it a try. Ps really nice eating area.
